John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023)
Worth the wait.
The movie is worth the wait. This movie franchise has set the bar really high for action movies and it is going to be a benchmark of sorts for the action movies of future. Keanu Reeves is amazing, as he has been in the first 3 installments. Donnie Yen is treat to watch and his action sequences are just mind blowing. The run time is a bit on the higher side but you will not feel that. The action seems a bit over the top at certain times but it does not last long. This movie franchise is making audience fall in love with close combat action and its good. Watch it in a good theater with proper sound and screen. The experience will be enhanced.
The Batman (2022)
Amazing.
People should watch this movie but without any baggage. People need to understand this is not a continuation of the Nolan trilogy or the Batman in the Snyderverse. This is a fresh take on the Batman. The cast is amazing, acting is good, and the Riddler is just wow!
Do not let the near three hour run time come in the way. Just go and watch it. You won't be disappointed.
Vengeance is awesome.
Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021)
It was worth it.
Zack Snyder's Justice League is just that. It's his own Justice League and no one can take it away from him. What we got in 2017 was probably a result of all the sins that we have committed. But Zack Snyder brought everything back to life. His version seems just right. This film, the 2021 movie, feels like a celebration of JL. Snyder has given ample time for character development and he, thank god, took all the cringey jokes out. There is still some humor in the film and I think thats enough. There was no need of Aquaman raving about what he has missed in his life, this is what he did in the 2017 movie. That's just one of the examples. Zack Snyder had to go through a lot in making this movie a reality and I think it was right on the part of the fans to not give up. It was a battle against one of the biggest and most moronic production houses and we, the fans, won. This movie is a celebration of that. This movie, despite being very lengthy, will keep you engaged.
Psych (2006)
Amazing!
What a fun show to watch! It is suited for all age groups and all moods. James Roday and Duke Hill are absolutely amazing in the respective roles of Shawn and Gus. There are just the right amount of characters in this series who you see regularly. You don't have to be engrossed in it, it is something that you can let play in the background while you go about doing your thing. And even then this show will make you laugh. It has become my go to show now.
Honeydew (2020)
Cringeworthy
Don't get fooled by the thumbnails or the posters. This movie is extremely slow and not at all cohesive. It introduces different story lines which does not point towards a common closure. You are always left with wanting some more explanation. Don't get swayed by the Spielberg in the cast.
Aquaman (2018)
Could be the movie which lifts DC up.
The movie is a visual spactale. It is definitely better than the other DC movies barring Wonder Woman. Jason Momoa is very good and lives up to the stature of being the blunt instrument. The movie takes some time to build and then hurriedly sprints towards the end. The action sequences are amazing and James Wan did a good job in the director's chair. Overall it doesn't suck and it is a fun movie to watch.
A Quiet Place (2018)
A perfect Scare.
The movie is very gripping and entertaining despite having almost no dialogues. The direction is quite good and the length of the movie is also justified considering the screenplay and the story. A little long and it would have been in the boring category. The scares are timed well and regular keeping your eyes fixed on the screen. If you have not seen a good horror - thriller from a long time, then I suggest you go for this one.
Only the Brave (2017)
A true story well portrayed.
The movie is just beautiful. Josh Brolin and Jeff Bridges are just natural and amazing. The movie doesn't deviate much from the true story. The movie doesn't try to soften the blow much. It just shows what really happens in a Hot Shot crew.
