Is the whole season gonna be like this?
4 October 2022
Oh my gosh. First of all, I was really sad to see Kate and Aidy leave. I'm not gonna miss Pete, he just looked confused all the time. To sum it up, many passengers have left because they felt the boat was sinking.

Was that even a cold open? Probably not. The actors tried so hard and they ended up creating a sad parody of the show itself.

I must say, I really love Chloe Fineman. She is the current reigning queen of impersonations! And I enjoyed Miles Teller a lot but then I found out he was just the host, not one of the cast lol.

All in all, who is this show made for? Seniors? People who don't have any sense of humour? Beacuse it certainly is not for young people. Where are the jokes? Are the writers really that lazy? Is it really that hard to make a good and FUNNY show? Sad, just sad.

MEH!
25 August 2022
So this was when I asked myself "Is there such thing as too much drag? And the answer was YES! Chaotic, cheap are the words that come to mind. And the host/main judge? Terrible choice. Nothing that could persuade me to continue watching.

Season 2 is so much better...
15 June 2022
... which has been a bit rare in all the series recently. But really, it got better, more exciting and thrilling even. In particular, I wanna praise the performances of Jennifer Spence and Andrew Rothney.

Not what I expected
18 March 2022
When I first saw the trailer I was like "OK, this looks funny and interesting enough". But I was wrong. It wasn't the worst ever but if you are looking for a murder mystery with good dialogue and jokes, try Only Murders In The Building.

My gosh was I bored!
16 February 2022
It started out nice. But then... firstly, I would cut the number of episodes down to just 8. And one episode should be 45 minutes long, max. The cinematography was great, Koreans are masters in this stuff. But what in the hell were the dialogues about? I'll tell you: absolutely nothing! I watched the version with Korean audio and English subtitles so MAYBE a lot got lost in the translation? But still... it was painful to watch. It went on and on and on... was it a zombie horror? Teen drama? None. It was like creators couldn't decide.

The book is always better
13 January 2022
I just finished reading the book 3 days ago and I was anxious to see the series (pun intended). The trailer was a bit of a turn-off since it marketed the series as a crazy comedy which it really isn't. If something, it's a study of human souls. So minus 1 point already.

How did I rate it? There were some things in the book that didn' t make it to the series, minus 1 point. On the other hand, there were some things that weren't in the book but the writers probably thought it was a good idea to create them for no reason. Minus 1 point. Don't wanna sound superficial but the younger cop looking like a hamster really didn't help. Minus 1 point. I really enjoyed the older, experienced actors who portrayed Anna-Lena and Jim. Plus 1 point. And that is how I came to 7/10. Read the book!

Evil (2019–2024)

Ready for season 3!
5 January 2022
Lately in many movies and series there has been the same problem: style over substance. While visually intriguing, lacking any sense at all. Evil is different, in a good way.

First, the cast. Katja Herbers is a really good actress and convincing in her role. The same goes for Mike Colter who embodies the role of a soon-to-become priest. Aasif Mandvi provides the humour and the much needed skepticism. And Michael Emerson? Loved him in the Person of Interest and The Name of the Rose, he is very versatile.

Visually, if you enjoyed Hannibal, The Exorcist or similar shows, you are in a good place here. About the story itself, yes there are some problems with subplots but if a show's second season is better than the first one, I am sold!

Solid adaptation
14 December 2021
Although the original Adam Dalgliesh TV series, together with Roy Marsden and the beautiful music are iconic, this new adaptation is alright, too. The old series was kinda slow for my taste and this one lasts for exactly the right amount of time. About the actors, Bertie Carvel and Jeremy Irvine did a really good job!

It was ok, but...
10 December 2021
I usually enjoy these types of shows. Although when watching the trailer, my first thought was "Oh look, Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars combined!"

I wasn't completely wrong. Nevertheless, I quite enjoyed watching it. But I am so over the cliche portrayals of the young people (nerd, athlete etc...) and also I'm getting really tired of 25-something people playing higschool students. Bronwyn was the Spencer and Cooper was Emily of the PLL.

Once almost everyone got ruled out as a suspect it could only have been that one person. Which I am okay with. What I'm not ok is how the whole thing ended. Not gonna spoil anything for you, it was a pretty decent watch if you can omit some stuff.

What a mess!

I love Ben Whishaw and that is the only reason I gave this film one star. The rest is utter garbage and the constant camera shaking made me dizzy. Why are films like this even made? For what reason?

Made for "meh"
25 November 2021
The plot sounds like a random episode of Black Mirror. Nothing new under the sun and after watching the whole thing I realized that some shows are probably just made because "they need to create some content". It was not all bad, the intentions were probably good (...) but the execution is poor. No likeable characters, whatsoever.

Overrated cheap film
31 October 2021
I have been a big fan of horror movies for years now and my faves are the 70s and 80s slashers. I'm not fond of the new pseudo-scary stuff where the actors sit and stare at each other and nothing happens for 90 minutes. So I turned to a so-called classic piece in this genre. But boy, was I disappointed!

It starts really slow and goes on and on... the characters are not likable at all. Especially the guy in the wheelchair, he is so annoying and so are all of his friends. Yes, there are some disturbing but not really scary scenes, pointless running around, chasing people... but towards the end I was about to fall asleep. I am sorry I wasted 80-something minutes of my life watching this garbage.

The Christmas Star (2020 TV Movie)

A nice Christmas fairytale
26 December 2020
Every year, there is an unofficial competition between the Slovak and the Czech filmmakers. The goal is to create a better fairytale and they are always aired on the Christmas Day on national television in each country.

This year, I have to say that the Czechs did a better job. A friend of mine argued that the story was too similar to Stardust but hey, what is original nowadays? I liked the cast, the costumes, and also the ending which I won't spoil for you. Also, the princess was beutiful and the village teacher was quite a catch!

What a great mini-series!
17 October 2020
Although I am Slovak I rarely watch anything that our country creates. This goes way back, I remember I was 10 when I first saw this. Then, we were still part of Czechoslovakia.

Helena Ruzickova was a famous actress, mostly a comedian but this was also a more dramatic role for her and she excelled as a loving stepmother and a careful wife. The whole series is about the World War II. when the Germans slowly but surely started to occupy Czechoslovakia and the people in this story were forced to move away from their home. The train was literally like a ray of hope for them. Usually, these types of stories are sad and depressing but here, the creators and actors were able to show us a different approach and it worked.

Great movie!
17 May 2020
It is really hard to find new ideas for movie authors and especially to bring the ideas to life. This movie made it happen. Sweet and funny way to make us think about relationships and that our beauty is on the inside.

Save your money and time!

I was really intrigued because there have been reviews applauding Jennifer's acting. But let me tell you: they were lies. I almost fell asleep watching this. I should have known, just like it was with Ocean's Eight - if there are too many famous names, the movie lacks everything else.

Very nice!
24 December 2018
When I was a little kid they used to broadcast a brand new fairytale on TV each holiday. These days I don't really celebrate Christmas but I still enjoy watching an original fairytale, whether Slovak or Czech. I don't wanna say too much so I just tell you that I liked the actors, the story and it was refreshing to see Pavel Kriz play a villain for a change. You don't need a ton of special effects to create something worth remembering.

Definitely worth watching!

I mostly watch TV shows but I don't regret a minute of my time spent watching this movie. Funny, yet suspenseful, with a great ending and I can only recommend it. Props for the acting and writing!

Still the best out there!
28 March 2018
It has been 21 years and I was a bit worried if the show still had the same thrill as back then. I wasn't disappointed! Chemistry is working, jokes are on point and the whole episode was funny but also serious. I have always loved Roseanne because this type of humour is funny but not offensive.

What a letdown!
24 January 2018
I was really looking forward to this one. The trailer seemed interesting enough and Sharon Stone is one my favourite actresses. But in the 39. minute I just had to stop watching. You cannot base a whole series on one star. The other actors around Sharon were boring and it was almost painful to watch them struggle. Also my advice to the cameraman? Learn to do your job properly, it looked like some amateur student film shot on a mobile phone. 4/10
