Genie is a great addition to your holiday movie favorites. It's got all the elements you would like in a holiday film. Melissa Mccarthy is such a great genie. Never in a million years would I have pictured her as a genie, but she is fabulous. Having been in her container for approximately 2000 years, she is mesmerized by the modern world. Her reactions to things we take for granted, such as a film or music throughout the house, was very entertaining and endearing. Paapa Essidu plays the owner of the genie. He does a great job. He is equally likable. In a holiday film, your main characters should be likable. This film does what it sets out to do, lighten and brighten the holiday season.

My new favorite show

I know that the people who are die hard Anne Rice fans are hating this show. They can't stand the deviations from her original stories. But I personally think that seeing a great set of characters reimagined in a an updated way is ok. No one throws fits about remakes of A Christmas Carol and other classics. So calm down and enjoy this show. Alexandria Daddario is an amazing actress and plays this part so well. Harry Hamlin needs more screen time in my opinion as he is an acting icon. I personally have no complaints about Lasher. I hate him as a character so he must be suited for this part. The actor playing Ciprien is excellent.

As a 50 year old straight woman, I don't know if I was the average watcher of this movie. That being said, I thought this was a great movie. It was a rom com with two mismatched stars. Bobby is a tell it like he sees it gay activist, and Aaron is an easy going gay man. Both are not ready for a relationship, and especially not with each other. There were so many moments in this movie that were absolutely hilarious. I truly did laugh out loud multiple times. This has not happened in quite a while with a new movie. It was great to see the young actor who played Brad in The Middle on the screen again. I would watch this again and recommend it to others!

Don't understand the hate

I read a bunch of reviews for Barbarian before watching it. It definitely was not what I was expecting at all. This was not your typical horror movie, or even thriller. It obviously had some elements, but I was left guessing throughout. The beginning of the movie was a little slow. I wish the writer/director could have developed the history of the father a little more. There's just not enough in the film and it does leave plot holes. You are left wondering what happened to the first man, as well. This seems like a very short scene could have been done, but I am not a director so I could be way off.

Episode 3 is even worse than the first two. I really wanted to like this show. I have enjoyed hearing some of the old country songs that they have sung, but that is about it. Now in episode 3, two characters are breaking into song instead of speaking to each other. I think this flop is a case of telling not showing. They tell us repeatedly that the mother and father had a perfect marriage, but Susan Sarandon is dead in episode 1. We never see it. Their family is the first family of country music, but we only know that because of the opulent and stupid things they do. Trace Adkins can act, but this show gives him lines like ,"I'm a bad man." It just makes him look like a bad actor. I really, really wanted to like this which is why I gave it 3 episodes. I'm done.

I know that people are turned off by the short episodes, but I still love this show. Steve Carrell can do anything, and this show proves that. Yes, I would love longer episodes, but it is not enough to hate on the show. The Patient is a dark, twisted thriller. The episodes are well written, the characters are well written. There seems to be a connection of music in the hero and villian's lives. I'm not sure how that will play out, or if it is just a minor background theme. Each episode is becoming creepier and creepier than the last. I am excited each and every time I see The Patient appear on my Hulu list.

I didn't think I would like this show when it first started. It must have just been my mood because within a few minutes I was thoroughly enjoying this historical drama. This is not my typical genre by any stretch, but the plot is great enough that the Era it was set in, as well as the dubbed English were no problem.

I am a person who can find entertainment in just about anything, and I wanted to like this. The women were either too broken, too feminist, too political etc. To be relatable to most watchers who are not extremes themselves. Then conveniently these extreme women are close friends. Again, this does not happen in the real world which is why there are so many people who saw this like I did...pretentious drivel.

Criminal activity committed by the coach and recruiter. Seriously, both of these people should be in jail for the things they do and allow. I am no prude but come on, there's almost no plot on this show 7 episodes in. No characters have developed since episode one, and all that has happened is that the coach and her lover, the recruiter, need to be arrested for their crimes against minors. I only keep watching to see if ANYTHING actually happens.
