Blended (2014)
Loved it. The best Adam Sandler film yet.
Going into the movie, I predicted that this was going to be another simple Adam Sandler movie where the jokes are OK and there's really nothing interesting throughout the whole movie. The trailer to this movie did not look very convincing.
However, I was very surprised with the beautiful landscapes of the movie, the touching story and the absolute best jokes I've ever heard in any Adam Sandler movie. If you are a Happy Madisson fan, then this is really your movie. People argue, that Sandler plays the same role over and over. It can be true, and this movie showed sides of the typical character, but also a new side of him.
The kids were a charm in the movie. They brought so much joy and for watchers, with a tendency to cry easily, this movie may bring a few tears. The children played absolutely superbly and although the little girl's character was a bit naughty for her age, she was still charming and always created smiles.
The use of Africa whilst incorporating Terry Crew's absolutely hilarious acting, the movie had some beautiful scenes. This stretched a normal Adam Sandler movie as his involvement in Africa allowed potential for all new additions to the 'typical' Adam Sandler character.
There are some that just plain hate Adam Sandler and it's understandable. If you are a fan looking for a serious physiological thriller, then by no means is this your movie. However, if you would like to sit down for two hours and completely enjoy yourself, then this is your movie.
I have seen almost all of the Happy Maddison productions and I must say this is just about the best one behind Benchwarmers (in my opinion.) The style of comedy is similar, but the movies are completely different.
Do watch this movie if you get the chance. It's one I would find hard to be disappointed by. Sandler does a great job and the whole cast works to together brilliantly. The film has my recommendation and chances are I might see this movie two more times before it goes off.
A true shocker for the expectations and a charming storyline. The whole movie is great, and suitable for anyone who can laugh and deal with a couple of crude jokes.
A Million Ways to Die in the West (2014)
A million ways to be disappointed
If there's one thing about Seth MacFarlane, it's that he is usually always funny and rarely serious. After watching Ted, all of Family Guy, and his other works, I expected this movie to deliver extremely funny moments. Instead, the movie had more serious scenes than the whole family guy series.
Seth's acting was pretty good, but it is better if he sticks to animation as it seems speaking through a dog is much more suiting to him. The whole movie seemed like his typical style of comedy, but without as much hilarity as there should have been.
The movie passes the time quite quickly and isn't very long, so it's one to see if you're a fan on Seth, but not one to see if you are not familiar with any of his work.
The addition of Liam Neeson was absolutely retarded. Why put a man with such an accent in 1882 in the middle of Arizona. Absolutely wrong choice of cast. Perhaps Jamie Foxx was meant to rip of Django, but he had only five seconds in the whole movie.
Seth has a long way to go as an actor. Animation is clearly his strong suit. The movie is surprising that there is moments of emotion, but in essence, the movie is nothing more than a sit down and watch Seth's movie. After all, it really was only his movie and it seemed he created everything in the movie.
I enjoyed some comedic moments, and the ending was interesting. However, the rest of the movie is not to be taken seriously. Only watch if you are interested in Seth or have nothing to do for 90 minutes.
Wedding Crashers (2005)
Funny, funny, funny!
The perfect comedy. There is not much more to say than that. A very predictable plot, but it just adds to the cheerfulness of the movie. If you are an intellectual, this is not the movie for you! However, if you enjoy having a laugh with some friends, there should be nothing that prevents you from putting the DVD in the player and having a good time.
The cast is fun and Owen Wilson is always charming with his very characteristic acting. Whenever Vince and Owen work together, a fun movie is always guaranteed. They work together so well and all the fans of this movie wish there was a part two.
This is not a movie to be taken seriously. There should be no offense taken, as it really is just a fun comedy that everyone can enjoy. By that I mean, a few friends. This is not a family movie at all! There use of constant sexual content is not something that would go well with a family watching a movie.
It's also not a movie to watch until you are mature and understand the jokes they are making. If you can't understand them, you are really to young for this movie. However, all the people who understood the jokes either loved it or hated it! It's really one of those kinds of movies.
I highly recommend watching it. It is one of my favorite movies and if you enjoy comedy, it will not disappoint. Enjoy!
The Face of Love (2013)
Quite an impressive movie
Walking into the movie, I had no idea what to expect. I felt like seeing a movie for no particular reason that night and am quite a fan of Ed Harris. Also, the addition of Robin Williams was a nice addition as he did nothing to harm to movie, only added cheer to it.
The movie had a nice storyline, and a rather unpredictable one. The ending was nothing I would've expected. An expected storyline would have the two getting married and the daughter accepting the father. However, the twisted ending added more emotion to the movie.
I recommend to watch the movie. It is shorter than most movies (90 minutes) and keeps interest throughout the movie. The cast does a convincing job and Ed Harris has the challenge of portraying two different character which he does very well.
It's a movie that also requires a bit of focus as well, which is nice. Rather than watching a pointless romantic movie, "The Face of Love" allows you to insert yourself into the movie, form your own opinion and at the end, walk out possibly with a tear, but ultimately a smile.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014)
Awesome movie! Great everything!
The first spider-man was disappointing. With such a promising buildup to the first one, it was terrible. This movie however, erased my doubts I formed going into the movie theater to see it.
The plot was very interesting throughout the movie. The effects also added to the interest in the movie. I was happy with this storyline opposed to the first one. Rather than using a stupid lizard (which was a stupid idea altogether) the use of two super villains added suspense. As soon as he defeated electro, immediately he had to fight the Green Goblin. I personally felt the use of turning Harry Osborn as the Green Goblin was one of the greatest ideas as opposed to the Spiderman trilogy with Toby McGuire (or however his last name is spelled).
When Stacey died, I was stunned. I sat in shock for a few moments. An incredibly unexpected ending added the the greatness of the movie. If anyone predicted that before seeing the movie, I would have been very impressed.
The cast did a great job to pick up from the disappointment issued from part one. I highly recommend anyone to see the movie as you will enjoy it, and it's quite long (140 minutes) but you will not lose interest. If you though the previous trilogy was good, you are in for a treat.
Hope my review has helped, but in essence, give the movie a shot. The only reason I didn't give it 10/10 was due to some logical problems. I understand Peter loved Stacey, but he is not going to stand there for four seasons. Also, the limited use of the Green Goblin was disappointing. Rather than setting him up for the next movie, they choose to use a Rhino which honestly had no relevance to the movie.
Although I have these criticisms, I am very positive about the movie and enjoyed it thoroughly.
Godzilla (2014)
Terrible..boring..waste of time
So they put a big huge fight scene of what looked like a big dog and a mosquito..The whole rest of the movie was terrible. The movie seemed to promise action in the trailers, but instead the whole movie was based on boring scenes with boring acting and too much crying. The wife's acting was not convincing and there was no interest in her character. The story is not developed at all and by some miracle they are able to discard a nuclear bomb within 5 minutes and he magically finds his wife amidst all the destruction caused by the monsters. Something that I looked forward to, but next time I see a movie with these actors, I will be sure to think twice before wasting more money. Huge waste of time and money. I do not recommend anyone to see this movie unless you are bored out of your mind and wish to become even more bored..
