Elvis (2022)
Amazing career performance from Austin Butler! Tom Hanks is superb as always!
Made from a different light but certainly for the real fans of Elvis Presley! A wonderful salute to one of the greatest to ever sing into a microphone! Very long movie but I never felt tired or not completely into it. I am more of a Garth brooks guy but my mother brought me up listening to all of Elvis's music. The performances were everything you could want by two amazing actors! Go see it go enjoy it!!!
The Families Feud (2023)
Excellent, Humorous and full of Laughs! Mob movie fan references galore!!
From beginning to end a very very funny movie. The dynamic between the mob and the hillbillies are hilarious. John Fior knocked it out of the park and is very funny throughout. We all need a good comedy and this is definitely it! Saw this at the Boston international film Festival and it was nice to see a lot of old familiar faces from my movies throughout the years! Definitely check it out!
Tommy Boy (1995)
GREATEST COMEDY OF ALL TIME!
Unbelievable seeing some of the reviews on here. This is by far the greatest comedy of all time. It's the dry humor and physical comedy combination that makes it so unique and different than anything else. If you watch the gas station scene the dry humor and physical comedy is at it's all time best. That scene should be indoctrinated on how comedy gold is achieved. Spade talking with the gas station worker and Farley wrecking the door of Spade's car. When I first saw it I couldn't stop laughing at Farley. But after multiple viewings I really now only pay attention to Spade and the great comical interaction with the gas station worker. When you combine them both it's comedic gold! So many things to mention about how great this film truly is. Acting, good story, Danny A is great! Very much more funnier than planes trains and automobiles and Monte Python and the Holy Grail. No disrespect to them they were great movies but not Tommy Boy. The perfect mesh of Dry and Physical comedy. And it's something you can really focus on in stages. Like the Three Stooges. If you watch them long enough and you're not paying attention to Larry then you're not capitalizing on everything they have to offer. Curly is obviously the goofball but if you really watch the stooges pay attention to Larry.
The Cure (1995)
One of the Greatest films you will ever see! MASTERPIECE!
Raw and unfiltered in an adolescents journey for survival. It's the one friendship we all desire to have at least once in our lives and for some it never comes. I am truly blessed to have witnessed such a great film in my life time. Parts make you feel uncomfortable and are very unforgiving yet also are essential to understanding the fabric of true friendship and dedication. To all that battle this terrible disease my heart is forever with you. Battle and fight! Never give up! This is a must own for the human soul! It will stay with you and hopefully be a strong memory for years to come!
Child's Play (2019)
Can't believe all the positive reviews. Dark comedy not a real Chucky film.
This was not a child's play movie. It felt like a Terminator film only with a doll. I can't get over this infatuation with comedy being constant in a lot of today's horror and super hero movies. Yes this movie was funny VERY funny and as a result too funny! But that takes away from its integrity. The original Chucky was a human in a doll. This reminds me of a cyborg from Terminator. This one was a real stinker as I was hoping more from my childhood ghoulish friend. All the time I was wondering if the voice of Chucky was going to suck. I was hoping that Brads voice would be portrayed in a great way. That ended up being the least of what's wrong with this picture. Andy's actor was great as an actor but just put into the worst reboot possible. Pass on this. If you have to see this see it at home when you borrow someone else's Blu Ray.
Us (2019)
Great film!
Great film but where are the regulators and the people who put the shadow people there? Who's feeding them the shadow people rabbits? It just looked like they were allowed to go free with no escape needed. I understand that we need to look within but that was a poor illustration. I loved the concept and nice twist(s). Good acting. Humorous at dumb times, especially the "Home Alone scene", which had me laughing but took the seriousness of the movie today. I just felt there were a lot of unanswered questions.
Godzilla (2014)
PG 13 and Terrible acting. Some great monster moments but falls miles short of expectations!
I had anticipated this movie for a long time hoping it would blow me away and in three scenes it did. The good which was little: CGI was great in the film and held above standards. The bad: However the acting was terrible. A lot of mushy scenes that didn't need to be there. I felt that Godzilla was extremely "SOFT" when it came to the movie. I wanted him to destroy the humans as much as he did the monsters. I just wanted a terrorizing Godzilla not the "lets save the human race" type. Movies are too predicated towards love and kids instead of dark evil and better quality. I really enjoyed the fights with the monsters but everything else sucked. The movie starts out OK but still the acting isn't at all what it should be and if the excuse is we'll it's a monster movie than I think the director isn't trying hard enough. I wanted to feel for the characters to make the monster more terrifying and I didn't. I thought the Mutos were more terrifying than Godzilla and that should never happen! I felt like I was watching a commercial in a lot of scenes. Very bland. Like I said acting sucked, too many cheesy moments, of course a big love kiss at the end and reunions. We should of been left with destruction and fear!
