The Adam Project (2022)
lovely wee movie
Didn't expect much from this...but was pleasantly surprised. This movie had a lot of heart and I really enjoyed it,
This almost felt like a kind of 80s movie to me.
Tiger King (2020)
Can't stop watching it
This show is usually the kind of show I hate...and yet it's a train wreck that you just can't stop watching
despite Joe Exotic's many many many problems I still find myself rooting for him and I know I shouldn't
Just watch it, it's the most crazy and amazing thing I've seen in a long time
Locke & Key (2020)
Well I liked it
Not sure why there is so many negative reviews, for me maybe the big negative is that it does have a bit of kid's show vibe which you could say is because it's a mostly younger cast...but stranger things showed that you can make a grown up show with a younger cast, so you have to put that down to the writing.
Apart from that though I enjoyed it, was really impressed at how high the production quality was for a small screen show and I found myself glued till the end and hope to see more from the show.
I Am Mother (2019)
Good Sci-fi
I really enjoyed this, nothing fancy...but really enjoyable if you love Sci-fi like me ...also clearly a very talented young actress to watch for the future
The Blacklist: Orion Relocation Services (No. 159) (2019)
Enjoyable but
Although I enjoyed the episode I had to dink few stars off and come here and comment about just how terrible the Russian accents were in this episode. They were like a parody of a 60s bond movie villain or something...I found it quite distracting
Apart from that a good episode
Impulse (2018)
Really enjoying it myself
First lets give the critics their due...this is a lot more drama than sci-fi and there is a LOT of PC culture identity politics in it, for example every single bad person is a hwite male, it's as subtle as a brick in the face and I really wish the entertainment industry would quit with this divisive crep and return to acting merit over just writing for race/gender.
But putting that aside, I really enjoyed this series...It's not some infantile "good people" "bad people" nonsense all of the characters are well written (and well acted) and the show takes the time to explore who they are and what their motives are...it's interesting and although I agree that Henry is a bit annoying, I think that is necessary as things have not gone her way in life, so of course she is a bit of a brat.
** spoiler ahead **
I was really sad to see Nikolai die as he was an interesting character, and as another reviewer pointed out it was a shame that his redemption arc ultimately ended up in his death
In summary if you want some kiddies 1 dimensional sci-fi goodies vs baddies then this is not for you...if you want something deeper than that then I highly recommend this
El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie (2019)
Entertaining but ultimately irrelevant
It seems to me is what they were trying to do here was almost a redemption arc for Jesse and I did enjoy much of the film. However ultimately it's a film that makes no real difference in the grand scheme of things and while I would watch through Breaking Bad again in a heartbeat, I can't see me taking the effort to deliberately watch this again
Game of Thrones: The Iron Throne (2019)
Just utter trash
Season 8 and this episode was so bad I can barley believe it...night king nobody...Jon snow...nobody...we got no payoff for Cersei
we get nothing...8 years and they give us nothing but king bran I'm so angry I can't even articulate it
Elizabeth Harvest (2018)
I really enjoyed it
I actually was a bit generous with my rating because I feel the ratings here are very harsh. I found it to be a really enjoyable sci-fi film with a few nice twists on an issue previously explored. Ignore the negative reviews, if you like sci-fi you'll really enjoy this film.
Counterpart: Twin Cities (2019)
What a payoff
I have to admit after enjoying the first season I was starting to feel the show was getting bit stale, season 2 has been very slow with not much really happening...but this episode really turned it around, really great payoff with the origin story well acted well thought out, just excellent.
Stan Lee's Lucky Man (2016)
I really enjoy this series
I'm not the best reviewer, but I felt compelled to write a bit about how much I am enjoying this series. James Nesbitt really is one of the UK's finest small screen actors and he is doing a very good job of this too as are most of the other cast. What I really love about this show is that it is a very good crime/detective series as well as being a supernatural/hero show (in fact almost elements of anti-hero with the mess Nesbitt's charters life is in). I have really enjoyed the second series as much, if not even a bit more than the first and hope it runs for several more seasons.
The Flash: Duet (2017)
Really did not enjoy this
I had to force myself to watch this to the end and found myself actually physically cringing at times, I was left wondering what the point of the episode was? The writers need to remember that first and foremost this is a comic book hero show and that is the why vast majority of their audience watch it...waiting an entire week to get this junk has really left me in a bad mood.
