The School for Good and Evil (2022)
Shockingly great movie
When I started watching it I was expecting it to be a basic movie for teenagers with mediocre acting and costumes. In the end I was absolutely shocked how good the movie was. The acting of the young actors was amazing. Usually costumes in fantasy movies look artifical but not here. They looked very much realistic and in my opinion perfect for the story line. I know that this movie is based on a book. Unfortunately I have not read it so I can not comment about the accuracy. For a person who only has seen the movie story line felt natural. It was smoothly flowing without starting more storylines that would later on be rushed to be finished which I usually hate in a movie. The only thing that was not good was CGI, it was very much artifical, that is why my rating is 9 out of 10.
Fate: The Winx Saga (2021)
Awesome and surprising
The new Winx remake series (if you could even say so) are unbelievable. They were surprisingly successful at merging the elements from the original series with something new for viewers to be surprised.
Alas there were many problems with whom I think they coped as best as they could. You can't expect from a TV series to be as grand and ideal if the actors are young and the budget is not as much as the "Game of Thrones" or "The Crown" had. So naturally they had to cut out a lot of the magic portrayed in the cartoon to make it into a quality material to watch. Which made a lot of differences with the original. Of course that is why the storyline needed changing, so they would be able to leave out a lot of low quality special effects.
Actors were really great. I think in this one you need to take the fact that in these kind of movies there are usually major problems with acting especially if the cast is pretty young, but no, not in this situation. Yes, you can see couple of scenes in which the movements or the lines are not as fluent as you would like, but at the same time there are unbelievably great ones which I didn't believe this actor could be able to bring.
Talking about the Terra a.k.a Flora problem. Yes, she was white-casted. Yes, they should have had latina actress. Instead they made her overweight. There are so many overweight people out there who just like all the different races, are discriminated from Hollywood. So many who feel horrible just because they are constantly reminded of what they are not. Even if nowadays overweight people someplaces are not so much bullied as they were before, they still are lonely, just because people aviod them of how they look. So why it is a problem for an overweight person to be included in a very good group of friends and finally feel accepted.
I believe these series have the potential to be successful, atleast between the huge fandom of "Winx". This was only season one where everyone gets used to what they do, what they should do and what they portray. Same with the script. In the future they will only become better and more entertaining
Friends: The One Where No One's Ready (1996)
Did not like it
Well maybe you can say "this one is entertaining" but you can't deny the fact that this episode was majorly toxic. They didn't respect Ross at all. It was his very important and special day and still they couldn't get over themselves to get ready on time.
When Ross shouted at Rachel he did humiliate her. I agree he took it too far but still, he had right to be angry.
