The Notebook (2004)
extraordinary experiences built uncommon story
in life, i know a similar story, which tells an old man, reading diaries to his sick wife in bed... that diary book, recorded all their life in the past half decade time. they met they married they experienced a lot in that past half decade years... through many big events, social and private.. but when the time comes, she lost her memory, while he still remembers every detail.. those details, could be common for those of their age, can also be unusual extraordinary for those of our age... but for the old man and his wife.. they are the gold age which belongs only to them...
this movie The Notebook, reminds me in every scene, of the story in my real life.. it just so resemble the real story.... so i would also dream, that one day, i can write a movie, write out about the true story..
some movies, do not lay its events on real history background. but i would still believe, those can really make people moved, is those which based on real history period, with real human characters presented.. well, also need good acting of these remarkable actor and actress, which always amazing me a lot. The Notebook, is just such a good movie.
Seabiscuit (2003)
Seabiscuit is me
i love seabiscuit so much! actually i had the book first its a gift from one of my best gf who really look like Laura. i think thats the reason she gave me this book. she herself not much interested about horses. i read the book and i searched for the DVD of the movie i bought two copies of the DVD..hehehe.. coz i am afraid of losing one! i kept watching is time after time i posted my comments to IMDb.com .. for something there inside the book inside the movie inside the seabiscuit, is me. i watched the movie 7 times since i bought the DVD. i read the novel first and later i watched the movie. well, both of the novel and the movie i like. i am a person who can become very picky on other movies, but not on this one. because, either described in the novel, or in the movie, seabiscuit is me. how could a Chinese girl find the same spirit with an American horse more than half decade ago? because of the time. the time that, china now experienced, resembles the time back to the seabiscuit age, that America experienced. and me, just living in such an age. i could feel the heartbeating of that great horse, as well as mine own. i don't really love a super star movie, but i love a good team worked movie. and seabiscuit, is just such a movie, successfully made with a great team work. i would like to watch all movies made just like this one.
Doctor Zhivago (1965)
Different times makes different movies
i heard people compare Dcotor Zhivago with the recent movie The English Patient. some even compare it with Gone with the Wind. but they are so different. before i get to know the movie doctor Zhivago, i knew the music first. the music amused me and i started to wonder in what kind of circumstances was the music fit to... until few years ago, i bought the DVD and finally watched the movie. and of course, it became one of my best collections of movie DVDs. together with And Quiet Flows the Don, Doctor Zhivago gives us a vivid view of the time Russian's historical turning period, which brought the great changes of life for everybody in their countries, that no one can escape. (if i am not a Chinese, i might not have the right to say so. because compare with some period in China history, we experienced the same) the story struck me with so much truth, that only those experienced personally could write such master piece of novel, and later the movie makers brought them all true characters onto the screen, offering us a vivid view of every true people once lived during the struggling time. common people made the great historical event, and historical event influenced common people's life. no question, Dcotor Zhivago tells a story that will be ever remembered by later generations in the coming world history.
The Bourne Identity (2002)
Whats the difference even if a spy is identified?
well, i think, the best point about the story is, Bourne is not identified till the end. just imagine, if u are a spy, if u are doing some mission, u ain't really know exactly what u are and what u are really doing isn't? so thats the point which Bourne identity caught. so that makes the movie different from other spy movies isn't it? i have few collection of action movies actually. but as soon as i watched it, i started to like it, and i watched it again from time to time. the actor Matt Damon's skill is well charactered in this movie, as well as he did in the other movie called the talented Mr.Ripley. he isn't cold hearted, but he acted also not over warm hearted. just well.
Knafayim Shvurot (2002)
People and Crises
whenever a movie touches the point of our present life, it make us think. and the movie is enjoyable. broken wings is such a movie. there is more people there is more trouble and crises, if, these people can not keep their relationship in a balance. lets imagine, if Dafna has only one child, the youngest one, her life will be easier, even the younger child need much care, but he will have less thoughts, and making less trouble to the mother. but the fact is that she has four. if her child is a teen, it reminds me of another movie called White Oleander, which both mother and daughter is strong, while Dafna is troubled by the lost of her husband and the heavy burden thrown on her shoulder suddenly which she felt hard to carry. her eldest daughter Maya reminds me of thousands of Chinese family eldest daughter, who always helps a lot in families and who is always considered to be the one that should help! yet Maya isn't Chinese. Dafna's case is easy to find anywhere i believe. the point is, she has to work. if she don't need to worry about money, it could be easier for her and her family? i doubt it. but another movie called Panic Room, which the mother don't need to worry about money and the daughter is clever and independent. where does their cries come from? from having too much money that they bought a big house? from there isn't a guy there to help them? well, again a question of a single family. imagine if, Dafna has no child, her husband's death will have only leave her a lonely and quiet life, just like what was described in that movie called Three Colours Blue, in which the woman Julie felt meaningless about her life for a while.... does it mean that woman without a husband, without a bf, without a family will make her life empty? but if she has all, it would turn out to be some trouble for her? if, she can not balance herself and the family ? i would say it is natural and common that Dafna got some help and comfort from that doctor. at least he listens and feels about her life. but, isn't it a kinda failure of this best movie? for a single woman, she must be strong and clever. she must foresee what will happen to her and her family. she must find solution in advance. otherwise crises can not be prevented from happening. in the end, i would say in all my DVD collection, the broken wings i category it to one of my best collections.
