So much hate for this movie
8 October 2022
I will start off by saying that I don't really write a lot of reviews but I felt I have to for this movie. The way it has been treated has been terrible. And the fact that people have rejoiced seeing it fail.

I finally got to see it when it released on Netflix and I feel bad for not going to the theaters. This movie is a masterpiece. There was not a single element of the movie that I did not like. The acting, storyline, beautiful cinematography and music. You can see the level of effort the team has put into this unlike some bollywood actors that just phone it in.

I have seen the original Forrest Gump and loved that movie. And this has stayed true to its story while adding elements of its own. Aamir and kareena both did a stellar job as well as the support cast of Mona singh, Naga and Manav Vij. Some of the scenes shot are breathtaking. The emotional scenes are well done and I will admit I had a few tears.

Thank you Aamir and team for making this gem. I am really sad the amount of hate you have got for this, comparing it to Mela which is just laughable. You can't change people but I hope you keep contributing to the Indian cinema the way you have done for decades now.

Blown away

I generally don't write reviews but thought I should for this movie. This is one of the best indian horror movie that I have seen. The story, cinematography, background score, acting are all top notch. It will keep giving you that haunting feeling throughout. Fantastic storyline and direction. I recently caught this on Amazon Prime and I really wish I could have seen it in a movie theater.

I really hope these kinds of movies get the recognition than the constant crap that Bollywood churns out.

Ignore the critics

Absolutely loved the movie. Fun, basic storyline, great graphics and fantastic acting. Tom Hardy killed it. The action sequences especially the bike chase scene are amazing. Go watch it!

Fanna is all about Aamir and Kajol
2 June 2006
OK the much awaited movie. Aamir after RDB and Kajol after a long break. The movie starts off with some brilliant locales and Kajol going to Delhi for a dance program where she encounters Rehan (Aamir). The sher- shayari bit in the first half is really good maybe coz of the way Aamir says it .

Then there's a twist in the tale just before the interval and the story changes. I don't want to write a professional review , just things which i felt. First of all the side cast is amazing . They have been well chosen and do justice to their roles . The story is pretty mediocre . Aamir is fantastic as the happy-go-lucky tourist guide and Kajol glistens as the docile , demure blind girl.

There are instances of Kunal Kohli's trademark sequences like putting songs where they just aren't necessary and some elongation of scenes . But the thing that makes this movie from being a common fare to a must watch are Aamir and Kajol . Their screen presence is amazing and the chemistry they share was just too good. They are the only 2 actors who could make a simple hug look like the reunion between two lovers . The ending sequence was also brilliantly handled .

There are many mixed reviews to this movie . As i normally don't like any of the Yash Raj movies , this one i found to be quite touching . I would recommend this movie just for the magic that Aamir and Kajol create on the screen.

Ramu is back with a bang!!!!
6 July 2005
I recently read a review on IMDb completely destroying Sarkar. I found it to be quite untrue. This movie is one of the best i have seen. The performances are mind blowing. Its the first time amitabh has been told to underplay his role.Amitabh is incredibly restrained, and his task is to sit there and look simmeringly angry. The first half focuses on the Big B and the second on the smaller one. Abhishek tries to copy his father's angry look from yesteryear and does so brilliantly. Even Kay Kay Menon does a great job as the bad son. Of course credit must go to Ramu who always makes his stars perform. The camera work and the background score keeps you riveted to the movie. Truly a very good movie.

Excellent!!
25 April 2005
I saw this film around 2 weeks back and cant stop thinking about it. It was positively brilliant with good all round performances. The basic plot of a serial killer named Jigsaw and the way he kills his victims was inspired. Some of the scenes actually showed some of my worst fears. The whole movie is misleading and packs the punch in the end. I don't think anyone can guess the ending.Whannell the story writer and co-actor has done a great job. The music is good in patches. In some scenes it could have been better. Anyways a really good movie for someone who wants to divert from the regular kind of movies.

All in all i think this movie deserves a 9 out of 10. Check it out.
