The Good Doctor: Rationality (2021)

Rationnal but not realistic
26 October 2021
So I guess we're still going on with this Salen character and her incredible unrealistic choices (Putting a civilian who's the father of the patient in a diagnosis team, having a billboard with Shaun's image without his consent).

I just hope they're going to stop with this nonsens and remove Salen quickly so we can get back to the good doctor.

Not that bad, but not scary
18 October 2021
Why going for a CGI puppet instead of using a puppet puppet? It is way less scary than the original puppet. What define a puppet is that it can moves only a certain way, and not like a human.

But using CGI and making Chucky's moves smoother, they made it look too human, like Baby Boss.... Not scary at all!

Anyway, appart from that huge issue, the pilot wasn't that bad compare to... let's say, I know what you did last summer for example!

The Chestnut Man (2021– )

Read the book
18 October 2021
Alright, I haven't seen any comment mentionning the book... So basically, The chestnut man is a crime story written by Søren Sveistrup, the creator of the series The Killing (for those who didn't know, the Killing is a Danish series, and then they made a US version).

It was a bit of a shock that they chose to show that first scene from episode one. It gave so many clues away!!

Anyways, the series itself is very decent and you're going to like it if you like dark nordic crime stories.

If you haven't watched this series yet, please, read the book before!

The most frustrating episode of all
16 October 2021
Well, 99% of this episode was brillant, the fighting scenes were amazing, and we didn't see much of former queen Kane which was totally fine by me.

And then.... they had to ruin everything by ending this with another dumb badly acted scene with the former queen.... Don't they get it that she's ruining this show???

great start
15 October 2021
I really enjoyed season 1 and 2 for their ominous/seedy ambiance. Season 3 got me lost a bit, although I really appreciate Matt Boomer as an actor.

Her with season 4, it's back on tracks with an eerie atmosphere full of mysteries and shady people.

I hope season 4 will not disappoint, but it's starting really great.

already seen plot line with despicable character
13 October 2021
So, they decided to introduce a new character in this season: Salen. We've already seen this plot line many times (big changes, priorizing money and calling people "clients" instead of "patients", time is money blablabla....).

I used to watch and like the Good doctor because it was a feel good series. But with this season, after each episode, I feel disgusted and angry.

There's enough money-related issues and capitalism in this world, and we know how awful is the US healthcare system, we don't need to be reminded of that all the time.

uninteresting and ulgly
10 October 2021
Although the design is very original, I just don't like it and find it very ugly... The characters look like the drawing I used to make when I was 14... (super ripped muscles, unrealistic shapes...).

Also, I haven't read the manga, but this season was really boring.

Don't waste your time.

Getting worse
8 October 2021
I really liked the tone set up in Titans, it was quite dark and mature for once.

This season, it has been a rushed and chaotic storyline.... Well, storylineS! There's so many arcs and things to follow, that are not really involving, mostly due to bad writing for the characters (stupid and impulsive decisions that would be done by a 12 yo teenager... is that actually Teen Titans???), that it's impossible to get into it. Plus, scarecrow's actor is probably not the best choice.... Very disappointing!

Another awful US remake
8 October 2021
Don't waste your time and check the original UK series.

This is garbage. Poor acting, awful production. What works well in the UK can't always be reproduced just as it is for an american audience.

27 September 2021
OMG! I don't what makes it so bad and ridiculous: the Queen character's development, her dialogs or Sylvia Oeks acting?

I'm just skipping all the Queen's scenes cause I just can't watch her, it's just so, so bad it makes me laught....

Another let down series
26 September 2021
Season 1 was great and I really enjoyed the story and the characters.

Season 2 so far is just a joke. Characters and situations are caricatural, grotesque and overdramatic.

The storyline is a mess and there's so many unimportant things going on that it is really hard to keep focusing on what matters.

Poppy's character has became despicable and so dumb, I don't feel anything for her and she quiclky gets on my nerve.

The acting is really not great, you can see some of the actors/actress overdoing it or not caring at all about their lines....

I'm gonna watch it till the end of the season, but I'm definitely not enjoying it anymore. Glad that I can fast forward the episodes!

Second half dumb and silly
24 September 2021
If you've already watched Alice in Wonderland and As Gods will, you're gonna be disappointed.

The first 4 episodes were good, the plot was promising.

And then came the Second half, which felt rushed and the writers out of ideas.... The plot with the VIP was already seen many times and it felt awkward and ridiculous. And the rest was over dramatic and the "plot twists"/reveals so typical... I felt like I've wasted my time with this series....

Messy
16 September 2021
I'm not a Dan Brown fan and I've never read any of his books nor have I seen the DaVinci Code.

The settings and characters development are almost non existent. People come in from nowhere and you're supposed to follow them?

The story and scenes are really messy, it's hard to follow (not because the plot is complicated, just because the script, framework and cuts are so messy).

The acting is decent but not great, and you can see from the scenes and settings that it's probably a low budget series made for the Dan Brown and QAnon fans.

Unbearable young girl
16 September 2021
The movie was good till Ani (Miku M.) got involved in the story and got acting/talking parts.

The actress (or maybe the character) is awfully unbearable. I skipped all her parts.

Other than that, nice Tokyo environment, great action scenes.

Amazing graphic novel, awful movie
16 September 2021
For those who haven't heard of the graphic novel the movie is based on (Sandcastle by Frederik Peeters & Pierre Oscar Levy), just go read it!

The graphic novel is an allegory of the time passing by, the death of our close ones, what matters and how small is our existence (like a grain of sand from a sandcastle being washed off by the tide).

There's no plot nor any answer/enemy in the graphic novel. It's just a strange beach that you can't escape from (like time and death, you can try to cheat it but you can't escape it eventually).

When I first saw that Shyamalan was making a movie based on Sandcastle, I was very excited. Then came the trailer.... And finally the movie.... That was so ridiculous and awfully done! I'm really angry with Shyamalan for ruining an amazing story. Shame on him!

painful to watch
7 September 2021
I used to play tabletop RPG and some Larp years before, so I was really curious and interested by the story.

Unfortunately, the quality of this series is really really bad.

First of, the characters seem very stereoptypical and mostly stupid, their emotions, relations and reactions don't seem very natural.

Second, there's too many romantic/love issues parasiting the whole story.

Finally, the production and final work is just so disappointing, it looks like an amateur-ish project...

REally, Sivia Hoeks's acting is getting worse and worse (as far as there was any real acting skills involved...). This is getting silly and ridiculous. Just get rid of her please.

Huge casting issue
27 August 2021
All in all, this is a really great series. There's some plot holes but the acting is more than decent, the story makes sense, and the environments are great.

EXCEPT for Queen Kane!!!!!

What's with her unbearable accent????

There's absolutely no explanation as to why she has a scandinavian accent... Why is she the only one with an accent?

Why her sister doesn't?

Why, after all these years, has she kept an accent??

This is a big immersion issue to me and I just skip all the Queen's parts.

strong season 1, weak season2

Season 1 was great.

Season 2 is not that so. Despite the acting being still excellent, Emma's character is so weak and dumb that it really weakened everything else.

American humor I don't get
16 July 2021
There's some shows that I love (The Office, Parks and rec, The IT Crowd, Wellington paranormal...), and there's this... From the comments and high ratings, I was expecting a lot from this.

Unfortunately, it's not well written, the acting is very poor, there's some controvery and provocation but they're totally pointless and don't have any deeper meaning. It's the kind of hysterical humor that I'm totally not fond of.

Also, I need to relate to the characters at some point (like Michael Scott from the Office, he's an idiot, but he's much more than just that), and here, I just hate everyone....

Doesn't deserve 1/10., but it has too many high ratings.

Solide tribute to musicals
16 July 2021
It reminded me of the old Disney I used to watch, especially Mary Poppins.

I'm actually not fond of musicals, but this is off-beat and I quite like it.

Also, I love Cecily Strong, Armisen and Cumming and I expect to see more of them soon.

Now, I feel like eating some corn pudding...

bad acting
16 July 2021
Too bad they kept the same actors from part 1 to play in this one... Sarah and Solomon especially are laughable at some point.

Overall, it's a bit of a disappointment... This one still has the same issues as the others. The main one being some era inconsistencies as you feel like you're watching a reenactment.

Nope....
10 July 2021
Still a fail for the French film industry (don't get me wrong, I'm French...).

Watching a French superhero movie is like watching an american anime.

Netflix is obviously producing all kind of c...p from all around the world.

There's nothing much going and everything seem cheap.

If you want to watch French superheroes, I recommend Hero corp. It's a French comedy series with superheroes. That's as cheap as this movie, but at least they're completely comfortable with that and it's really funny.

boring
7 July 2021
Slow (no issue with that as long as there's a meaning and some artistic view behind, which is not the case), badly written, overacted, grandiloquent. Characters seem out of place and overdoing it all the time.

Sorry but you can't have a good series about schemings and politics if it's not well written and acted. Also, there's noting much at stakes appart teenagers feelings...
