Excellent story line, fantastic music
I have been getting tired of movies using tired story limes, being overly political, or using superheroes. This movie was a good one for its originality, intellectual engagement, and damn good acting. There were no superstars, so the movies was not about the actor, it was about the story. Weaving in the conspiracy theories without making it silly was just plain good writing. The limited use of CGI made it even more about the story - not the CGI.
Now, the music was fantastic! This movie does not call for bombastic themes, and Mick Rossi wrote some great music. The music never gets in the way, and, sometimes, you don't even notice it because it is doing what music in a movie should do, adding to the story being told. Some of it may seem very minimalist, but when you listen closely, you hear the intricacy with the simple. Rossi's music sounds like no one else - he has a unique sound and a great sense of what works and where it works. I have been sick of what Netflix and Amazon have been showing, and there are no good movies coming out of Hollywood, so this was a welcome breath of fresh air.
Sherlock: The Final Problem (2017)
I liked it
I am reading all of these negative reviews and wondering why people take themselves so seriously. This is a STORY not a real story. None of the episodes are truly believable, they are meant to entertain. A good writer gets you to laugh before you cry and the writers of this series have been great. As this episode moves forward, you are reminded of episodes past and this was a good way to end the series, yet leave the door open for future movies or shows. I liked the violin piece at the end but could not find a title listing.
The one thing that I am wondering about is what the ending was trying to say. The building "Rathbone" hall or whatever-- was that some kind of reference to the 1940s Sherlock Holmes, Basil Rathbone? If so, the two running out the door at the end, is it supposed to mean something? The writers, it seem, may have left us a mystery after all?????

Atlantic Rim: Resurrection (2018)
What is with music?
I have watched several asylum movies and one thing is constant -- the music makes no sense. Who writes this music? The music does not fit the scene, especially with the constant tension that never resolves. Then there is just too much music. I don't want to throw total blame on the composer, because the director may have too much say, but, damn, doesn't anyone there understand the role of music in a film?
