Candice Renoir (2013– )
Beating a dead horse...
28 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
The first few seasons were pretty good and kept my interest. But after a while the cliches start to grate on your nerves. The cliches of Candice's love life. The writers need to move on from the on again off again relationship with Antoine. Find them each a love interest and be done with it. Let the romantic aspect of the series be about that if they must. All these writers just rehash the same story lines over and over. Here in the U. S. and the E. U. Does not anyone have anything NEW to come up with? The same formula season after season gets tiring after about the third or fourth year. Then in Series 8, what's the problem with the amnesia? So what Antoine doesn't remember his and Candice's relationship nor his coworkers, he knows how to be a cop, he can get to know each of them all over again. It's stupid, running around trying to hide it. But, I know that's supposed to make the show more interesting and I guess add a comedic aspect. Not! It's dumb. I'm not waiting around for series 9 to become available if this is the best we're going to get. I should've skipped out after series 5, but no, I decided to keep watching. I think the actual crimes they investigate are okay, it's all the other things that make me not want to continue on.

Beyond Paradise (2023– )
Was liking it...
4 March 2023
Until the ex-fiancé was introduced into the mix. She's that naive to think it's okay and it's strictly a business arrangement and it's going to stay that way. And Humphrey is okay with it. Humphrey is enough of a clueless dork who spends money on another useless boat, that we don't need Archie in the story to cause friction. Humphrey does that on his own well enough. Reverse the roles and let's see if she would be okay with an ex coming into the picture... Was interested in this to see if I would enjoy it as I was a fan of Death In Paradise, but it's more of the same predictable writing. Same old predictable tropes that are still prevalent in the year 2023. I'll pass if the writing doesn't improve.
