What a film! Should have not only won best animated but best regular picture as well. The effort put in by all concerned staggers the imagination and to add a fresh outlook on Vincents demise (was he murdered?) triggers further imaginations. Mesmerizing with paintings that entirely look like the actors and a dreamy music score with a cover of Starry Starry Night during the end credits by Lianne La Havas will move one to tears.

This is my second favorite film of all time. If you're feeling down in the dumps, put this film on! A masterpiece that deserves re-appraisal. Clever, witty, perfectly cast, sexy, dreamy, masterful script and somehow an odd homage to The Titanic!
Helps if you're athiest! Rachel Portmans music score alone is worth the price of admission but it's the sexual repression/awakening of Tara Fitzgeralds character Estella that steals the show. Discover the magic!!!

Dickens titled his novella A Christmas Carol in prose Being a Ghost Story of Christmas and that is exactly what this atmospheric adaptation delivers. Sure its cinematography is a tad dark, so was London in 1843. Yes the dialog is Shakespearian. At least the filmmakers tried something new. The acting is excellent throughout and the script is probably the most faithful to the original manuscript of any incarnation heretofore produced. In time this little gem will be re-appraised. And God bless us everyone for being opened minded enough to give it a chance.
