Candy Cane Lane (2023)
Wonderful
A wonderful, creative, imaginative production from the one and only Eddie Murphy completely out of the old tired box. Was it snowing in southern California? Nahhh. But you might have expected it. Eddie Murphy hits it out of the box with this one.
Even the animation was beyond compare. Be sure to take the time to watch this and help the family find all the necessary items to save Eddie Murphy's character Chris. Chris's kids rally around, the family comes together and everyone ends up having their wish come true.
I'm going to put this one in the Christmas movie rotation. You can't go wrong. Pop some corn and be prepared to enjoy.
Haunted Mansion (2023)
I really liked it.
I really liked this movie. It's very different from the Eddie Murphy version so don't expect the same thing. Computer graphics were done well. There are little homages to the Haunted Mansion attraction in Disneyland and also to some Disney movies from the past. The set is phenomenal as are the actors.

Knock at the Cabin (2023)
Sorry I wasted $5.99 to watch this.
And I can't believe I have to write six hundred characters to review this movie. It doesn't deserve even sixty. In the past, M. Night Shyamalan has done some great psychological thrillers. Such as Signs, The Sixth Sense, The Last Airbender, and Lady in The Water, just to name a few. This one does not make sense. What in the world is going on . Are these people that knock on the door already dead? Well you know the ending at the beginning. This movie needed more twists and turns to be a real M. Night Shyamalan movie. What is going on? (Which is exactly what my hubby said.) My faith in M. Night Shyamalan has died.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023)
No Continuity
There simply is no continuity. There is no explanation why we are in the quantumania. No explanation about the passage of time. Although it is interesting on it's own it does not explain how it fits into the real world which was the charm of the original two movies. How did we get here? It makes no sense in that regard. There seems to be a LARGE nod to to Star Wars in this movie. And I have to agree with another reviewer who also said it appears to be written by fifth-graders. It is simply a disappointment to the franchise. I certainly would not recommend it if you are looking to a finish to the series.
Big Legend (2018)
Not like some
This movie is not like a lot of new movies. There is a beginning, middle and ending. I stress ending because so many movies these days just end with no definition of what happened. You get to make it up on your own. This one finds its way to a culmination of the action.
The actor that played an Army Ranger was completely believable all the way to the end. I loved how his mother supported him because she knew him better than anyone else. The loner that he meets is completely plausible even typical in a lot of ways. Ranger asks him if he ever served. Loner says, well if you count watching a lot of reruns of M*A*S*H then yes.
I don't think I really spoiled anything. But if you just want to have a break from everything else that is going on, this is a great sasquatch themed movie.
Faster (2010)
A really good movie but
This is a great movie with a wonderful cast. Dwayne The Rock Johnson is awesome. He is determined to dispatch the people who did him wrong and ultimately sent him to prison. Some of them have mended their ways and become fairly decent people. Some not so much. It was sad to see some of the characters fall so far and give up. The one story line that distracted me the most was that the movie was supposed to take place in Clark County, Nevada. Clark County is where Las Vegas and Henderson lie. I lived there. The scenery was nothing like Nevada. And for me, that was just too distracting. Although I did watch the whole movie. It IS worth watching.
Super Hybrid (2010)
Really quality B sci-fi movie.
Anyone who did not appreciate this movie must have been looking for something else. An awesome job of writing was done by Neal Marshall Stevens who took an old tired story that Hollywood has rehashed at least four times before and turned it into a total keep you on the edge of your seat thriller. Who could have imagined that a cephalopod could shape shift into any automobile that it wanted to. And the Shop Foreman couldn't have been a more unlikeable guy. I didn't think it was possible that the humans could ever win this one. At least they made it out of that four story car garage. Give it a chance.
Devil (2010)
One Great Psychological Thriller
I did not see this end coming. M. Night Shyamalan is THE best psychological horror writer bar none. Never would I have believed that that person was the bad guy. It is an on-the-edge of your seat kind of movie. And Shyamalan always leaves you thinking - 'wait, what just happened there.' This picture is right up there along side The Sixth Sense or Signs. The cinematography was realistic, believable and perfect. When in a movie have you seen forensics investigate a crime scene with the rain pouring in a broken window. They went for realism and it was better with every turn. Give this movie a chance, you will not regret it.
The Benny Hill Show (1969)
Hysterically Funny
I will set an alarm to watch this show. Benny Hill was cheeky, funny, great singer , great writer, great comedian, exceptional. I used to watch Benny Hill on PBS when I was young and there were only four channels. You cannot beat the comedy skits on this show.
Dolittle (2020)
Very Entertaining.
If you grew up having watched the 1967 version of this movie with Rex Harrison you will love this even more. Robert Downey Jr. Never disappoints. I would recommend buying the book set to read the original story and the beautiful illustrations. Your children or grandchildren will be riveted. I think Hugh Lofting would be proud of this adaptation.
Gunsmoke: The Disciple (1974)
Great story.
The series probably should have ended here. It really gave thought to how long Matt should continue in law enforcement. I also thought it would give a little more background regarding Miss Kitty's departure. Perhaps future episodes will tell the tale.
Leverage: Redemption (2021)
I'm hooked
Great show. Loved Leverage and this reboot seems to be as good or even better. Love that the original cast is back in. This is a double winner.
Alligator X (2010)
Could have been better.
It may have helped if the so-called residents of Louisiana had even just a bit of a southern accent. The acting is barely passable. I've seen some cheaply made sci-fi movies that at least had interesting characters. This one is just a bomb from the beginning.
The Last Outlaw (1993)
Exceptional TV movie.
Lots of twists and turns. Great cast. It's hard to believe this was a TV movie. Plenty of gun fights and storyline twists. Grab your popcorn, this one holds your attention to the end.
Restaurant: Impossible (2011)
Meh
Honestly, all this show ever did for me was discourage me from eating at restaurants. Yuck.
