Boring
30 October 2022
This awful cheaply animated film is so dark that you can't even see anything that is happening.

Not even street lights seem to be turned on and when there is light it doesn't even light anything up. I get that it's supposed to be dark and at night but when you can't see anything it comes off as cheap and lazy and adds to losing interest in this film.

The appeal is seeing some characters we don't often get to see on screen but I didn't really care for any of them.

Voice cast is serviceable. Overall not a great product put out by marvel. Such is the way with a majority of their animated films.

Obi-Wan Kenobi: Part VI (2022)
Season 1, Episode 6

Somehow Palpatine Returned
22 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
A somewhat disappointing finale. Let down by more cringe moments of Obi Wan officially meeting Luke. Didn't need to happen. Especially when Luke mentioned in A New Hope that he only heard about him.

Plus no mention at this time in the same film of seeing lightsabers before in the sense a crazy angry lady chased after him with one. Luke held and saw a lightsaber for the very first time when obi wan gave him one.

The promised dual was slightly better than the previous one. Some of it feels lazy. I think the qui gon cameo should have fitted just after the fight to give obi wan the motivation to break free.

However the two cameos were great. A welcome addition to the episode. I had a feeling we'd see Vader's helmet half broken, heavily ripped from season 2 of Rebels, was good to see in live action but didn't really need to see it again.

Given the context of the much recently discussed original Leia transmission, this now does an attempt to "fix" it by having Obi Wan say to leia call me for help without calling me for help. Which 'from a certain point of view' means Leia said he served with her father in the clone wars to be discreet about the future call for help. That's how I take it.

And I did like how Obi Wan called Anakin Darth, this means when he addresses him in a new hope it now seems to be that he is mocking Anakin by referring to him as Darth instead of calling him like it's his name.

Not great

So Fury meets the bestest hero ever and wants to start the Avengers initiative even naming his future team after her, but sits on this project for THIRTEEN years. Yeah right.

Rigged 6.9 out of 10
12 June 2022
I've been scrolling for ages and all genuine reviews range from 1 to 4 stars, yet miraculously the score is 6.9, which rose from 6.6 over a year ago.

An unusual activity warning is now present which means they can't handle bad reviews.

I'm sorry but dozens and dozens of scores that don't even go passed 4 doesn't average 6.9.

Nothing new
10 October 2021
4 stars for this episode. I wasn't a fan of the style or animation at all for this one and found myself being bored throughout. Characters didn't engage me then towards the end we find the episode going down a familiar path of a Jedi turning to the dark side. The soundtrack was awful. Didn't even feel or sound like Star Wars whilst watching.

Best episode
9 October 2021
If you only watch one episode from Visions then make it this. Taking place far beyond the Star Wars we know in a time when lightsabers no longer exist and jedi all but force users without purpose, this story brings so much in 20 minutes that you'd wish this was episode 1 of a series of just these characters!

Amazing visuals and images, the best speeder chase since you saw as a kid in Return of the Jedi and an actual storyline this is easily one of the absolute best pieces of Star Wars in years! This is coming from someone who was on the fence and not bothered about this series. A few episodes have been fantastic, some okay and other episodes are why I was skeptic about this show in the first place. But "The Ninth Jedi" delivers on many fronts.

Batman Year Two
23 June 2021
Fans have been disappointed by recent animated adaptations of Killing Joke and Hush. I've been more disappointed by the recent batch of animated films like the boring voice cast for Justice Society and the Batman-less Soul Of The Dragon. I'm pleased to say they've delivered an outstanding part one of the Long Halloween. I was thoroughly entertained. The voice cast is fantastic. Naya is quite possibly the best animated Catwoman for me. Troy Baker delivers a spot on Joker channelling Mark Hamill which adds to the atmosphere and style of the Batman animated series from 1992. All this adds up to a win win release.

100th episode
19 May 2021
As for 100 episode specials go this was pretty on the dull side. Other tv shows such as Buffy and Angel featured main character deaths and battles. Here we get the first half which is just arguing and disagreeing, Phil learns he's dying and second half events feature a reunion of a few characters we not seen in a while.

None of this makes 9 or ten out of ten viewing. The wedding doesn't exactly pull on your emotions like the writers would hope. We know they're capable of that and we've seen it before but it certainly feels out of place here and is only happening to coincide with the 100th episode.

I hope for more improvement for the remainder of season five.

Fantastic introduction
18 May 2021
When a short film is better than the main feature it accompanies. Kamandi delivers all the Easter eggs and service it possibly can. This feels like a post apocalyptic world right from the 1970's. The opening scene itself is a homage to the cover of issue one. Absolute spot on Jack Kirby likenesses. 18 minutes that flew by, is a good sign of some quality entertainment from D. C. it's a shame that this wasn't the main feature. Ending sets up a possible sequel which I am now wanting to see.

Superman's moustache joke
18 May 2021
This latest film from the reboot is another full affair. Soul of Dragon back in February was awful and this one is no better. Animation looks cheap, as if drawn by a black felt tip pen. It can just barely pass for the 1945 part of the movie as that style kind of fits.

One joke that I found amusing was the superman moustache joke, something that isn't going away anytime soon and will haunt Wb for years to come. But this is about the only think I found amusing in the entire film. The dialogue is terrible, often long pauses in between two characters saying their lines.

I had high hopes for this when announced, a world war 2 set film focusing on characters that don't get the spotlight. WRONG. This is definitely a Wonder Woman and modern Flash movie. Obviously taking non subtle ques from the accent of Gal Gadot with more obvious inspiration from Captain America. Wonder Woman uses her shield in much the same way including the foot stamp to get it off the ground back into her grasp. She is more well known for her lasso but doesn't get used once.

Modern flash just doesn't work for me here. Matt Bomer is a great actor but he's not Flash. He lacks the charisma of Grant Gustin and incredibly flat compared to Rosenbaum from JL animated series. Barry was always the jokester of the group. The comic relief. That is non existent here. As for the rest of the group they do very little and barely contribute anything to the movie.

Maybe this would have been better by calling it Wonder Woman & Flash WW2, because just like "Batman" soul of the dragon, we get once again another mis-leading titled film.

3 stars out of 10. I'm really not holding out much hope for the similarly animated Long Halloween. I could pretty much knock these new films on the head if that one turns out to be just as bad.

WandaVision: The Series Finale (2021)

It's all about Wanda
6 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
10 stars from me. Thoroughly enjoyable episode and has all the hallmarks of a finale. This series has always been about Wanda. Not about her teaming up with Doctor Strange or Reed Richards. It's her personal journey.

1 star reviewers are from the people who are disappointed because benedict cumberbatch never made an appearance. Or Reed Richards didn't make his debut. I still believe Mephisto will appear later down the line and the hints have now been scattered throughout this series.

I was expecting Nick Fury to show up on the cinema screen but because he didn't, it never ruined the episode for me. I was entertained, well acted and executed from everyone involved. 10 out 10.

Worst Batman/Justice League film
13 October 2018
This is an unbelievably bad film. The characters are written completely wrong. Since when did Superman struggle to take on a few villains whom he even declares don't have any powers.

The script and story is such a mess and doesn't even make sense. They say it's Batman's 1 year anniversary of being Batman but we have characters like Batgirl, Justice league, Robin has already become nightwing. Batman Year One must have been busy according to the writer of this film.

Easily passable. Not worth wasting your time on this one.
