The Evil Down the Street (2019)
The Art of Suspense
I really enjoyed how the writing lets the story unfold, and centering it on a family, which makes the events even more chilling and disorienting. I also loved the look of the film and its commitment to creating meaningful characters and performances.
Cold Pressed (2018)
Powerful
I loved the look and feel of this film from the moment it started. The story feels real and relevant but also fresh and with a twist. A great thriller film for fans of the genre!
Hesperia (2019)
Original and Bold
It's good to see an indie film that commits to its own vision fully. I feel like I was introduced to a parallel world in a way, and it was a pleasure to get to know those unusual, unpredictable people and interesting place.
The Redeeming (2018)
All you wish a psychological thriller to be, and more
I love psychological thrillers and this one was so smart and kept me curious (and nervous!) the whole viewing. The acting is amazing, and the script and camera work are crafted in a really intelligent way. Recommended!
Unlawful Justice (2018)
Relevant and Sharp
Viewing this film had a real impact on me, emotionally and intellectually. The writing and the acting is fantastic, and it makes such a timely subject more complex and accessible, difficult yet immensely rewarding.
Better Than Love (2019)
Engaging and Powerful
Such an important subject matter told in such an engaging and compassionate way. I could really feel the people in the story, their struggles and their humanity. I definitely recommend!!
Dirty Beautiful (2015)
Humor and Wit!
This was such a treat. I love this kind of tales and filmmaking where you can really feel the characters and their struggles but also have a good time. I especially loved the lead actor and the camera work is beautiful! Looking forward to seeing more work by Bartell.
Return to Horror Hotel (2019)
A pleasant surprise!
I didn't know what to expect and I'm not always a fan of the genre. This film was such a pleasant surprise. It's a super entertaining piece with real attention to detail and much talent. Loved it!
Stadium Anthems (2018)
Pop music to my ears!
This is such a fun dark comedy piece. I loved the mokumentary style that feels so effortless and playful. If you enjoy smart satires, this is the one for you.
