Robin's Wish (2020)
7/10
nostalgic and also heartbreaking.
16 September 2020
Premise: Robin's Wish (2020), is a documentary recounting the final days of the beloved actor, comedian, lovable person Robin Williams. His battle with Diffuse Lewy body disease which is incurable, how it impacted him. The story is narrated by his wife Susan Schneider, close friends, and neuroscientist. The saddest part is, Robin never knew his enemy, what is he suffering from. Neither his doctors had any idea until 2016 by then it was two years since robin left the world.

Review: Robin Williams is widely creative, undoubtedly the greatest improvisational actor can fit into any role, no one can keep up with his humour, more than all he has been generous, a loving human always spreads happiness unconditionally. This film recalls the life and legacy of Robin from friends, neighbors, colleagues, and his wife, Susan Schneider. As we all know by now, Robin didn't commit suicide because he is depressed or addiction problems. He was suffering from rare Lewy body dementia (LBD). LBD Is a case of progressive dementia that leads to a decline in thinking, reasoning, and independent function because of abnormal microscopic deposits that damage brain cells over time.

The movie primarily focuses on the final days of the robin, his struggles, and more importantly, his strength. Despite fighting a war inside his brain with an unknown enemy, he still kept a smile on his face. He made the world a better place with his morals, generosity, humour. The movie also features some scenes of Robin Williams from documentaries and talk shows. Where we see highlights his major roles and how he brings laughter to people around them and his philosophies of life. This documentary also raises awareness about LBD. The symptoms and risks are talked by neuroscientists.

Verdict: As a fan of Robin Williams, this movie is nostalgic and also heartbreaking. Robins Wish (2020) Pays Tribute to the beloved actor Robin Williams, a full of life human being. Oh, captain my captain, you will forever be remembered.

Primer (2004)
7/10
An original, mind-bending Science fiction movie I've seen in years. My ratings 7/10.
11 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Director: Shane Carruth. This is first written, acting, directing, and music composing for film. He has no prior experience in filmmaking. Cast: Shane Carruth as Aaron, David Sullivan as Abe. Genre: Sci-Fi, Thriller, Mystery

Premise: Four friends Abe, Aaron, Robert, and Philip works at a large company. In their free time, they spend time on a science project (electromagnetic reduction of objects involving gravity, superconductors, etc.) In Aaron's garage. They call this machine as the Box. Mostly Aaron and Abe are involved in this invention, and they do most of the task. One day they accidentally discovered the box they built, somehow used as a Time machine. They test it by placing wristwatch in the box, then the time-shifted to backward. Both Abe and Aaron are Curious about what it can do. And want to benefit from it by going to the past.

Review: Let me shock you by saying the budget of Primer is 7000 dollars (nearly equal to Mac pro or seven iPhone 10 phones). But this movie doesn't look cheap, at least story-wise, and be appreciated for its originality.

(Mild spoilers- only in this paragraph) The story largely focuses on two scientists, Aaron and Abe. The first 15 minutes are a mixed bag for me, I really didn't understand what they talk about and building. When they discover the box is used as a time machine. Then it made sense of their conversation. The movie gets ladder when Abe builds a large box and travels back to 6 hours for the first time, then Abe and Aaron repeat the experiment, multiple times in multiple days. To profit from it by stocks, lottery. Aaron does not just want to make money, he also wants to reshape a celebration event where he can become a local hero. Abe was totally against that idea. They mess things and Abe realizes time travel is dangerous and wants to tidy the things they did. The build-up plot twists never let down until the end. In the actual world, we don't know entirely about time travel and its consequences, but we have some theories and rules based on science. Primer made, logical and realistic as possible. Like when they want to travel to the past, first they first spend six hours in a hotel room and not interfering with the outside world, so that when going to the past the original one will stay in a hotel room. They can go as far as one day and they can't travel before the box switched on.

There is a limit when and how they can travel. These rules and limitations amazingly tackled by logically, scientifically. This is why Primer script is fabulous. Primer also won Grand jury prize at the Sundance film festival. Primer doesn't give all answers in the first viewing like the handwriting of Abe and Aaron, the narrator of the movie, etc. all make sense in a second viewing.

And also by these boundaries and consequences, we do care what happens next in the story and to the characters. Considering Shane Carruth first time writing, characterization of both Abe and Aaron is well handled, how the invention affects them individually, how they lost their principles to their creation, and how they blindsided want to control the situation. Performance of Shane Carruth, David Sulivanare, really good.

f you're watching this movie for the artistic, perfect movie you absolutely don't like this one because the camera work basic, sometimes even out focus, with its 16 mm film camera, it looks grainier, continuity errors, lighting is odd, etc. But if you want out of the box a different experience in Sci-fi genre primer doesn't disappoint you. Primer didn't try to please every kind of audience. With its puzzling plot structure, sometimes confusing, complicated, it's not for everyone. But can be respected for its originality and its accomplishment in making this movie in the minuscule budget.

Cons: in some scenes, I didn't find any propose of using complex, technical dialogue rather than a simple one it didn't add any weight to the scene. Mainly in the first 15 minutes, even in the second viewing.

Some incidents are not shown, kept open interpretation makes primer mysterious spectacular movie but some of the unexplained incidents didn't for example, we don't know the motivation behind why Aaron was consumed to reshape the party event where no harm was done and want to become a local hero, for that he went such a great length of challenges don't know whether its director intention or lack of footage because of limited production.

Verdict: It's just too complicated for the average viewer and super flawed for artistic persons

A thoughtful, captivating, grounded Sci-fiction movie made with just 7000 dollars. If you are looking for an original, puzzled movie, out of box experience, Primer will satisfy you. And definitely, multiple viewings required to understand. My rating 7/10.

Palm Springs (2020)
7/10
Palm Springs (2020) Short Review: 6.5/10 Surprisingly good...
6 August 2020
I was a bit skeptical after watching the trailer, but surprisingly Palm Springs (2020) is satisfying, entertaining and has no dull moments, its absurdly funny throughout the movie. My rating 6.5/10.

Director: Max Barbakow Cast: Andy Samberg, Cristin Milioti, J.K. Simmons Genre: Comedy, Mystery, Romance

Premise: A wedding at palm springs, a city in California. Two strangers Nyles (Andy Samberg) and Sarah (Cristin Milioti) stuck in a time loop, repeating the wedding day over and over...Palm Springs is about this two strangers how they fall in love in this bizarre scenario and finding ways to escape the time loop. Will they succeed or they will be stuck for eternity?

Review: Premise of palm springs is nothing new its " one of those infinite time loop situations you might have heard of" and maybe you saw a couple of movies similar to it. Whats interesting in this movie is the two witty characters Nyles and Sarah, their absurd comedy, weird moments, and how they find joy rather than suffering on the wedding day that they both hate to live in, because of (Spoiler) past. And eventually they falls in love.

Nyles is a carefree guy, he gave up escaping after many many time loops and then masters the several ways to entertain himself, enjoys his life like there is no tomorrow (literally for him there is no tomorrow, so he had no choice). On the other hand sarah, she is the sister of the bride and has some issues... somehow, when she dragged into the mess of this time loop, where the fun begins in the movie. She tries to escape this time loop numerous times, failing every time. Such as driving back to her hometown and still waking up in palm springs the same wedding day. Slowly she sees logic in nyles philosophy of enjoying life. And as seen in the trailer they party, dance, drinks tries all sorts of fun happy stuff. The bond and chemistry between Andy Samberg and Cristin Milioti is really good, definitely carries this movie and makes a very watchable. Even with the little screen time J.K. Simmons stole scenes he in it, he was hilarious. progression of the story and the characterization through the same day makes us curious and interesting in every loop.

Cons: The main problem i had is that it skips the pivotal moments like the character transformation and the resolution for change is not that believable. Palm springs plays in the safe side, it never takes risks, it never gets serious it sticks to the cheesy comedy (which is great in first 40 minutes, after that, it didn't work for me). the ending could have been better. And off course the horrible CGI.

Verdict: With a low budget 5 million US dollars and with just 90 minutes of fast-paced comedy in the genre of the time loop that we all love about, i think its hard to hate Palm Springs its quite entertaining. I had a good time watching this movie. Don't expect too much just lay back and enjoy the movie. My Rating 6.5/10

Other movie recommendations: If you liked this movie then definitely check Groundhog day (1993) movie, a classic which started this whole time loop genre. If you're into sci-fi action want to see some bullets , then Check Edge of Tomorrow (2014). or try experiment with your taste by Source Code (2011). Da 5 Bloods (2020)
7/10
Good movie could've been greater with editing..
16 June 2020
Pros:

Da 5 Bloods, shows the history of the Vietnam war through the eyes of four black people who fought for the USA which is uncongenial to them. Coincidentally, this movie so much relevant to what's happening now, it shows after nearly 5 decades, there is so much that didn't change for black people in America. Da 5 blood also has decent characters with different ideologies and how they changed since the war. As like Every Spike Lee movie, Da 5 Bloods, Daringly talks about different social issues, political conversation.

Spike lee choice to show real footage of a massacre of innocent Vietnamese people, the oppression of black people, Martin Luther's speech, so many real events relating to the issues of America is impactful and powerful. The changing aspect ratio for different acts is cleaver. Movie is 2hr 30min, with Spike Lee's amazing, captivating direction it doesn't seem long to me. The film changes pace in the second hour where the characters start the journey into the forest to find treasure, where it gets intense, emotional, violet, and spike lee brilliantly captured it all. The references to Apocalypse Now (1979) Movie and Marvin Gaye tracks are quite enjoyable.

The notable performance by Delroy Lindo is observing. He's struggling with PTSD and emotional performance is phenomenal.

Cons:

First, I love social messages in movies, but forcefully inserting many, without actually serving any purpose to the main story, seemed muddled and messy sometimes confusing, what's the movie about.

The same actors played in the present play their younger self 50 years ago, Without any visual effects, prosthetics why??

The background score doesn't sink with scenes, it felt like the orchestra team given the music without knowing the tone, emotion of the scene. And the worst part, for some scenes, B.G.M dominates the dialogue.

It's certainly not the beast spike lee movie, but still a good movie. The movie could be so much greater with some editing anyway its still worth watching. DA 5 Blood daring, relevant, and commercially entertaining with amazing direction. Thanks for reading. 🙃

A Must Watch Classic with Thought-provoking message
7 June 2020
A Must Watch Classic with Thought-provoking message and Brillant Acting. My rating 8.5/10.

Premise - A story of two children Scott and Jem where they experience the harsh reality of 1930s southern America, and how they learn life lessons from their father Atticus Finch who is Nobel, Respected lawyer. And he is also our hero Atticus, defends Tom Robinson a black man who falsely accused of rape by Mayella Ewell a white woman. Some of the town members were against the decision of Atticus and gives him a hard time. And a subplot of Boo Radley who is mentally handicapped, Scout, Jem, and Dill (A Neighbor kid) was curious about Boo Radley.

Features - Based on the novel by - Harper lee's "To Kill A Mockingbird" widely successful and earning the Pulitzer Prize. Director - Robert Mulligan. Cast - Incredible actor Gregory Peck as Atticus Finch, Mary Badham, and Filip Alford as Scott and Jem Review - To Kill A Mockingbird was Nominated for 8 Oscars including the Best picture. And Won 3 i.e. in Best Actor role, Best Set decoration, and for Adapted Screenplay.

Unlike the other movies where the Story more focuses on Characters of Accuser, Victim and Crime scene, Investigation.... To Kill A Mockingbird tells the story of racism, injustice, prejudice through the eyes of Scott and Jem (kids) who are, innocent, empathetic, different from others who lost theirs in adulthood. This isn't only a story of racism, To kill a Mockingbird tells the story of courage, poverty differentiation, protecting innocence, and a story of Scott and Jem who feared and integrated by Boo Radley, And how they learn life lessons from their father Atticus, who teaches them the importance of treating all equally irrespective Of Skin color, Status, knowledge, religion. Like Atticus said in the movie "You never really understand a person Until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it". Every discussion between Scott, Jem, and their father Atticus is just astonishingly beautiful.

The best part of the movie, The 40 minutes courtroom segment where every aspect like Dialogues about injustice, law, and racism, Camera angles, Smooth editing is brilliantly done with perfection. maybe this is the Best Courtroom scene in Movie History. Some might say this movie is overrated but considering the time it came out, During the civil rights moment, and showing a different perspective, I call Mockingbird Movie Daring, influential, inspiring, and must-watch movies.

The performance of Gregory Peck playing Atticus with wise, compassionate, and thoughtful is marvelous also earning him an Oscar. The 6-minute long continuous scene in court where Atticus gives a closing statement to defend Tom Robinson talks about racism and also the reason for Mayella accusing, Gregory Peck gave a tremendous performance. The other actors also did a decent job and other factors like directing, Cinematography given such good care to the script.

Verdict - To kill a Mockingbird explains complex issues in a simple manner makes it the best storytelling for all kinds of ages and the performance of Gregory Peck will be remembered. Definitely, a must watch the film.

Rashomon (1950)
8/10
Simple at the same comprehensive...
31 May 2020
Quote from a movie - It's human to lie. Most of the time we can't even be honest with ourselves. Rashomon (1950) My rating 8.5/10.

Synopsis - Rashomon (1950) a Japanese Movie, Crime/Drama, A notorious bandit who assaults the bride and kills her husband (Samurai), the story is said from multiple viewpoints from a Bandit, the Ghost of husband, The Bride, and a Priest and poor Woodcutter who witnessed the crime.

Director - Influential director Akira Kurosawa. Also directed outstanding films like Ikiru (1952), Ran (1985), and one of the greatest and my favorite movie Seven Samurai (1954). Cinematography - Kazuo Miyagawa. Fact - This film is often given credit for the first time a camera was pointed directly at the sun and A very early use of the "hand-held" camera technique. Cast - Takashi Shimura, Toshiro Mifune, Machiko Kyo.

Rashomon rewrote the rules of a film's narrative style, almost unprecedented at the time. Initially, after seeing 30 min, we assume that it's just the same incident from a different point of views, and maybe some are lying in order to cover-up the horrible things that they did and blaming others hence the story contradicting to each other, However, it's not that simple... Every story with its self-serving motivation, and subjective memory. And every story said in front of the camera like they are saying to us like we are the judges we have to decide which one is true. For instance In the bandit story, he killed the Samurai honorably because Bride insists on the battle between them so one must die... In the bride's story, She says she did nothing wrong she is pitiful deserves sympathy...

As every testimony unfolds we audience curiously whats to find the meaning of the story and in those various versions which one is true, why did they lied whats the motivation or did they forget what happened and filling the gaps of their memories .....

The man just wants to forget the bad stuff, and believe in the made-up good stuff. It's easier that way.

In the final minutes of the movie, after the truth revealed, we thought to ourselves is every one selfish, cruel but it doesn't leave us hanging there is a short scene between the priest and the woodcutter that shows hope and faith in humanity. The scene may be short but impactful and it's my favorite scene from the movie.

Besides Akira Kurosawa, I don't think anyone can tell this story as he did, even with the tight budget, most of the cast didn't story and producers didn't believe the script, director Akira Kurosawa made history Rashomon introduced Japanese movies to the world, it was first japan film to receive Oscar, it received Honorary Oscar award at that time there is no award for foreign language.

Like all films of Akira Kurosawa, Rashomon tells the story mainly through visuals, with the amazing camera angles, best use of atmosphere, lighting, impressive editing, Rashomon never feels outdated and never will be. Even though the same episode shows multiple times it never felt as repeated, because of the brilliant performance by the actors, even the main root of the characters the same in each viewpoint they change their persona makes us invest in the movie.

Rashomon is simple at the same time comprehensive story, With courageous decisions and stunning visual direction.

Breathtaking Animation....
10 May 2020
Demon Slayer - With Breathtaking Animation and Dazzling Soundtrack, Demon Slayer shows it's potential. My Rating 8/10.

Demon slayer : kimetsu no yaiba - Anime Series, 26 Episodes each of 24 min / Ufotable studious / Genre - Action, fantasy, comedy / R - 17+ (violence & profanity)

Synopsis - The kamado's family lives happily and peacefully on a remote mountain. One day our main character, Kamado Tanjirou found out his entire family is slaughtered by Demon and only left his little sister turns into a Bloodthirsty demon. Along with his sister, Tanjirou starts a journey and become a demon slayer to avenge his family and find a cure for Nezuko to turn her back into a human.

Pros - On the surface, Demon slayer looks like a decent shonen with a lot of action, a simple plot, hilarious comedy but its not just a regular shonen, with it's Cutting edge animation, amazing soundtrack, uniquely crafted action scenes Demon slayer totally deserves in the top 10 anime of 2019.

I loved how the different fighting styles showed in an artistic way. like Tanjirou's breath of water, Zenistu's thunderstorm style. The majority of the series consists of battle scenes. The way of telling the story in between battles like flashbacks of a demon, the background story of our protagonists makes every battle invested more emotional and With the satisfying sound mix, breathtaking visuals, mesmerizing soundtrack, make every action scenes spectacularly gorgeous. Ufotables studio is done a brilliant job.

Demon slayer also has some decent protagonists, our main lead Tanjirou a nice guy sees human even in demons, Zenistu a silly hilarious guy even though he battles rarely his actions scenes, past story stole the audience, Inosuke he will do anything to prove himself And after seeing adorable, badass Nezuko, no wonder all over internet people are praising her and the memes...

And the Story is simple not necessarily a bad thing, not every movie/anime should have a deeply complicated story, when focusing on other aspects and performed right it doesn't matter. This is true when for Demon Slayer.

Cons - All minor issues mentioned below are until episode 10 only. The starting episodes are super rushed. It doesn't take time for emotional scenes and changes the environment to comedy. Story and battles seemed repeated.

Verdict - Demon slayer is absolutely worth the time, it's entertaining, and with futuristic Animation, crafted fight scenes its unique from regular Shonen anime. Absolutely recommended. Looking forward to Season 2. Demon Slayer is also available on Netflix.

Bad Education (2019)
8/10
Masterclass acting by Hugh jackman
4 May 2020
A Solid Refreshing Script with Brilliant direction, Hugh jackman gave An Award-winning performance. My rating 8/10.

Bad Education, movie Based on a true story of America's largest school theft, a scandal of 11 million dollars from Roslyn school district. Prime suspects Frank Tassone, Pam Gluckin played by Hugh jackman and Allision Gluckin respectively. Frank Tassone, superintendent of Roslyn district schools who genuinely cares about students, does what's best for their students, remembers everyone's name, and overly concerned about his physical appearance. Pam Glukin is a hardworking, trusted individual. Everything goes smoothly until a student investigates for funds for her school article.

Bad Education is absolutely captivating, for some the first 30 min might seem a little boring, in fact, nothing happens, we don't know what's happening it just builds characters and sets environment, after that movie jumps, instantly hooks until the end of the movie, we see another side of the characters, unfolding the story through student journalist. The screenplay how of the story unravels interestingly wrote by Mike Makowsky. After seeing the movie Surprised to know this is an only second directorial film by Cory Finley, did a good job.

Hugh jackman Easily the best part of the movie, with his charisma, deep acting, facial expressions, as the movie progresses he changes shades of character really given a masterclass acting. Not only in the movie in real Hugh jackman worked as a teacher, and also remembers his student's name, as we all know how nice is this guy. For me, this is the best acting of Hugh after Les Miserables ( 2012), Prisoners (2013). Alison Janney's performance was amazing.

Verdict - A character study of how these two individuals who are reasonably good people, did a bad thing and broke the trust of people brilliantly written and directed. Terrific performance By Hugh Jackman.

Bad Education (2020), Drama/biography/thriller Directed By Cory Finley, screenplay - Mike Makowsky, he was in middle school in the Roslyn school district during this true scandal took place. Cast - Hugh jackman, Alison Janney, Geraldine Viswanathan.

Extraction (2020)
5/10
Movie Hardly Survived...
1 May 2020
  • Extraction hardly survived only because of stunning action-packed scenes and Chris Hemsworth. My Rating 2.5/5.

  • Extraction is an action, thriller movie made for tv, By Netflix. Extraction is a story of a fearless assassin who is on a mission to rescue the kidnapped son of an imprisoned international crime lord.

Sam Hargrave First-time directed, known for Stunt coordinator films like avengers endgame, Thor Ragnarok, The winter soldier, and many. Cast- Chris Hemsworth in this instead of his hammer he holds firearms. Randeep Hooda and Rudrakash Jaiswal.

  • Pros - Director Sam Hargrave knows what he whats when coming to action scenes, For a car chase scene he chose to tie himself to the hood of the car to record the scene, all his hard work paid off, All stunts, close combat, shooting, all the action scenes are incredible, well-choreographed. With this film, Chris Hemsworth proved, not only hammer he is also good with guns did a great job.

  • Cons - First if I want to spoil the movie for you I can't because there is nothing to say. For most people, Even though it has a great action sequence with a week plot movie seemed aimless didn't grasp the interest.
Poor characterization we don't know the motive of the kidnapper, what's the deal of kid ya there are scenes with a kid but that doesn't add up anything to the story.
  • And what's with red-yellowish filter, although it spends 65 million dollars the production doesn't look like that.
-In Dhaka, Bangladesh every one listens to Bollywood songs? Do cars look like that? the accent is like that? Nooooo

Verdict - Despite the negative, the good thing that is Extraction doesn't drag at all its only 100 min, if it's for theater it's hard to recommend gladly it's not. if you only want to see Chris Hemsworth in action flying bullets Extraction doesn't disappoint you, if not better to watch John wick, The raid, again.

Chernobyl (2019)
9/10
Best Tv show ever made.
26 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
  • How can you go a place knowing that you are definitely, going to die?? What is the cost of lies?? "Chernobyl" series will leave you questioning, thinking to understand. There will be some movies/series that will stick to you for life, for me, this is one of them. My rating is 9/10.

  • Today on 26th April, the world will never forget this day, writing on my second viewing.
"Chernobyl" is an HBO Mini-Series (5 episodes) based on the true events of the world's worst man-made catastrophe, an explosion at the nuclear power plant in Chernobyl, Ukraine, On 26th April 1986. Directed by Johan Renck. Staring Jared Harrison, Stellan Skarsgard, Emily Watson. It has released in 2019 and has nominated for 19 Emmys and won 7 awards including best-limited series, Stellen for best actor, cinematography, editing, and Screenplay Awards And also won Golden Globe for best series.

  • This is not just a story about catastrophe, it is also a story about heroes dealing that has never occurred before, who went knowingly that the radiation of the explosion would kill them, all the Scientists, Military, Miners, firefighters, health workers, and so many people sacrifices to save millions. And for antagonists are lies, corrupted government, Secrecy, ignorance of some people, all these chains to a disaster that is never seen in human history.

Writer Craig Mazin shows the disaster in a subjective manner and unfolds the story brick by brick, and rather than focusing on a group of people it focuses on individuals, this puts the audience in the shoes of characters and situation facing. There also some fictional scenes which made for the emotional purpose and to make sense of what's happening. The script and way of breaking episodes are perfectly done to build tension. And quotes in this series just makes upkeep on thinking like" What is the cost of lies? It's not that we'll mistake them for the truth. The real danger is that if we hear enough lies, then we no longer recognize the truth at all" With all said, there is no surprise to say this is a masterpiece screenplay.

  • Lead Actor Jared Harris plays Valery Legasov who is a Soviet inorganic chemist in the field of nuclear physics. Stellan Skarsgard plays Boris Shcherbina, a politician. Both have given their Lifetime performance, Expressing the struggling emotions of dealing with this disaster, facing challenges in the process, seeking the truth and despair of failure, all the performance they did really paid off, and justified to the story. The chemistry between them from hating each other at the beginning in the series to becoming the best comrades is stunning. There is a quote at the end of the series from scientist to the politician, "they heard me but listened to you" I wish how they worked together to deal with the crisis after the catastrophe, likewise if the government listens to the scientists our world may not have to face another crisis like that or any other climate change, pandemics, etc.
And fictional character Ulana Khomyuk played by Emily Watson represents a group of scientists, she gave a splendid performance. And for the antagonist who played to be ignorant, demanding comrades, denying the truth makes you angry, they did a remarkably great job.

  • Directed Johan Renck, always keeps the series grounded and pushed to realism even though it is horrifying, upsetting, we see the killing of all pets because of spreading radiation, a pile of dead human bodies, and there is a scene in the hospital, where shows what 15000 roentgen radiation do to human body all the skin melting, it's horrifying and sadly it happened. The director never shied to show the truth, he wanted us to know it is dangerous and like the way, he tackled the series to showcase us the cost of lies.
There are many exposition scenes describes how a nuclear power plant operates, how this disaster arose, the aftermath of the disaster, etc. Directed interestingly, explained smoothly not only for the science enthusiastic but even who is not interested it hooks you up.

  • The sound editing and mixing are haunting, Chilling. There is a scene where 3 men divers enter contaminated water to open the valve the tunnel, where we hear only the ticking sound of the Geiger counter, it builds tension and keeps the audience on the edge of seats and the score is brilliantly done.

  • The cinematographer did a great job in capturing emotions of characters most of the series contains close up shots that make us invest in characters and connect us to the story.

  • Chernobyl series keeps you on the edge of seats and begging for truth. It deserves all the praise received by critics and the audience. Every decision in direction, storytelling, editing, makeup, action, and production is amazing and given us a master-crafted series. This is the kind of story that everyone should watch and learn if we didn't learn from the past, it will happen again in a different form.

The Gentlemen (2019)
7/10
Writing, and performance at its peak. My rating 7.5/10
13 April 2020
  • I have always loved the work of Guy Ritchie who directed Snatch, Sherlock holmes, Lock stock and two smoking barrels. but his recent movies we're disappointed, with this Movie he regained his throne to comedy/crime genre. This movie comes so close to snatch.
  • It is really a fast-paced movie, although it has a predictable story the way Ritchie presented it makes us curious to see how this is going to unfold. The writing is magnificent. Really stylishly directed with quick dialogue, humor, and fast pacing script. If you saw his previous films you will know what I am talking about. A joy to watch from start to finish.
  • The entire cast gave their best performance. Matthew Mcconaughey shined with his acting, dialogue. Best fitted role in his career. Rom-com king Hugh grant disappeared in this role of cunning, hilarious, long monologues just nailed it. Charlie hunnam has given his best performance of his career. Colin farrell with his charismatic and hilarious performance he changed the mood of the film into another level.
  • I really liked the movie, if you're a person who is going to offended easily just skip this movie. It has a lot of profanity, a couple of racists jokes. If you like fight club, snitch just go for it you will enjoy.
  • Don't know why critics didn't like it and please IGN stop making movie reviews just stick with game reviews.

Don't touch your face, wash your hands
11 April 2020
Contagion My rating 7.5/10 Pros - Perfect movie to rewatch in our prevailing circumstance. Most realistic, Informative script with gripping direction by Steven Soderbergh. Well performed cast especially Matt daman, Kate Winslet. Cons - a little bit rushed in the third act.

Really Must watch a movie, we can learn so much from it like social distancing, a consequence of misinformation, epidemiology, vaccination .....etc, etc Maybe we all are in the 2020 sequel. And don't touch your face, wash your hands, wash your hands, go and wash your hands now.. stay safe

Must watch series - innovator to philanthropist
8 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Inside Bill's Brain :DecodingBillGates - Tvseries- 2019 - Documentary of 3 episodes tells about Bill Gates life story. It is always entertaining, informational and interesting to know about bill gates from founding Microsoft to becoming a philanthropist. -This series shows, how the impact of bill software is, a lot of software and computing technology we operate now has come from his earliest ideas and shows critical and important issues in the world with solutions, the way he uses his innovation and influence to solve the sanitation problem in developing countries around the world, how he trying to eradicate polio, bills new energy idea to make world non-reliant on fossil fuels by terra power and also shows us issues encountering in that process and then how he decode the problem. -This series also shows us about his family and friends like Melinda Gates, Warren Buffet, Paul Allen, etc. how they influenced him and supported in his life -The series is just too short for a man who constantly changing the world with his innovation, and finding solutions to the world's most complex problems. I wish maybe a couple more episodes and for some topics to go deep. -Cons - Personally I didn't like the way of editing style going back and forth, it merges present and the history in non- linear fashion For some scenes it was okay but come on for entire series it's too distracting -Conclusion - if you are like me who admires and look up to bill gates you going to love the series. If you are a person who thinks bill gates just a world richest man, then you will learn so much from it. I recommend checking this series. -Thank you, Netflix for bringing an amazing documentary of an incredible person alive Thanks, Bill Gates for the work you did and performing. Wishing a great success in your life and hope your government listens and supports you.

Shinkai did it again - review from Indian Otaku
19 October 2019
(Actual review starts from the next paragraph) I don't remember me this excited to watch a movie. We Indians never thought we could experience an anime in theaters until now, as you heard #indiananimemoment #indiawantsanime etc petitions to release anime in our country all those are paid off, thanks to PVR and Vkaao for releasing this movie in India and thanks to Makoto Shinkai for not disappointing a single bit and making our first anime experience such a blast.

Like all films from Makoto Shinkai, the screenplay is not an easy one it has to say something behind it in this case about climate change, and what we are facing with current changing weather and disasters, especially for Japan people, understand more than others, really thought-provoking script in the grounded fantasy with the amazing coming of age elements, innocent romantic story and wonderful comedy. Two hours the movie never felt slowed down or rushed, no pacing issues, but in the third act, I wished just more depth to it.

The film is gorgeously animated, the powerful visual is easily highlight of the movie. Every single frame is gorgeous especially sunshine scenes for me, rain scenes and whether manipulating or magic scenes really breathtaking we can see the production and work of all artists not wasted a single bit.

Like previous work RADWIMPS for Your name, they did beautiful work in this one also, songs and musical score added weight to scenes emotionally, anticipation, entertainment and so in every way

It has really memorable characters both protagonists finding there a place in the world learning to live individual life and falling for each other, other characters like his senpai and other female role have steals funny scenes. And when guest roles appeared in the movie, the whole theater was screaming!

Verdict - Take my word and watch it surely you will enjoy and if you are Indian Otaku please support and watch in theatres. (Thanks for tolerating my English)
