The Gone (2023– )

Far Too Long
13 April 2024
Started good and seemed as though it was going to be a decent thriller but.......there was just so much time wasted on people just staring at each other and scenes that did not move the plot on at all.

The sound was poor throughout with either the characters talking far too quietly or the music drowning everything out.

The relationships between the characters seemed forced and they were hard to relate to and empathise with.

We identified the culprit way before the end, which was really disappointing and the ending was extremely unsatisfying.

However, the setting and scenery was breathtaking and seeing the cultural scenes was really interesting. Its just a shame that the rest of the show was a let down.

Should have been condensed into a 2 hour movie.

Average Drama
10 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Whilst this isn't the worst drama you'll see and there are some tense moments and a fairly decent twist, the procedural errors and fake menace were a huge let down.

1. There is no way she'd be the 'star witness' - she didn't see anything relating to thr actual crime and could only be used to suggest that the victim and suspect were together near to the scene 2. The police protection was non existent and incredibly unrealistic - if she was that important she'd have been secured straight away 3. The gang would have just removed her from the equation if they were that worried, not stand around trying to look menacing

Overall, a good premise spoiled by the half-hearted effort put in by the cast and crew.

Great Start, Ran Out Of Ideas......
3 March 2024
Such a great premise - part cop drama/part sci-fi fantasy - and a great cast (James Nesbitt as Harry is particularly good and Amara Karan makes a great sidekick) BUT ........after a really good first series and a pretty good follow up, they just appear to have completely run out of ideas and just got the trainees to come up with the third series storyline. Was just a complete mess and let down the rest of the show. The ending in particular was such an anticlimax after the build up.

Stan Lee must have been really pissed off that this was the outcome of his idea.

Would definitely recommend giving this a miss.
