Manhunt (II) (2017–2020)

I don't like the glorification of terrorsim
30 December 2019
As the title reads, this is kind of what this Netflix Series does, which isn't something I like at all. Netflix has produced some wonderful content shedding light on injustices, but this tries a bit too hard justifying someone who is a terrorist.

That being said, the story and production is well worth the watch, so it get's a 7/10 from me regardless.

Interstellar (2014)

I rarely watch a movie more than once, I review them even less often
2 December 2019
Look, I'm writing this review just to let anyone that comes across it to tell them PLEASE WATCH THIS! If you don't get it the first time, you'll enjoy just the visuals, the supreme acting of the cast, the music and the story...

...then go watch it again, and again, and again and again until you feel like you've understood it. I've seen nearly 1500 movies in my time (you can see my lists in my profile), and this is the best movie I have ever seen!

The Queen and I (2018 TV Movie)
6/10
Typically British
24 December 2018
A movie that is intended for family entertainment, and it achieves that very well with a fun cast and a very British style of comedy.

Downsizing (2017)
5/10
Undone by a misleading trailer
2 September 2018
A lot of the brutal reviews are probably down to one thing. The trailer suggested a, in my opinion, fun family comedy about a concept. Instead this is much more of a drama. The trailer essentially summarises the entire first half or so of the movie, while the remaining half becomes almost a political statement, which doesn't always go down well regardless of how well it's exexuted.

That being said, it's a better movie than the reviews suggest, but the rating being so low is justified because people do not like being misled. The movies we watch very much depend on our mood at the time, so to set yourself up for a comedy and end up spending 2 hours watching a whole different genre will irk people. You'll enjoy this movie, it won't be a waste of time, if you don't watch the trailer beforehand.

Gets a 6/10 from me because it has several plot holes and is entirely rushed to make too much sense at the end.

Upgrade (2018)
7/10
An extraordinary achievement
17 August 2018
I had to fight myself to watch this movie and my curiosity eventually got the best of me. Why were people rating this movie so highly? Surely it'll get lower over the next few days? Well, it didn't, and thank you my dear curiosity.

It's been done so many times, yet this was somehow unique. I could write a quick overview, but I urge people to forget all the plot summaries, trailers and just give this movie a watch. Instead, I'll give an overview of a viewer watching this movie...

Scene 1 develops the main character. Scene 2 sets the tone. Scene 3 is where you sit up, and then with every subsequent scene you start to move closer to the edge of your seat until you basically fall right off at the very end.

IMDB has been trying to get me to write a review for half a decade...
16 August 2018
...And finally I've come to the very first thing from my list of thousands of titles seen that's worth me spending time to write about.

Don't get me wrong, I've seen other wonderful documentaries, movies, serials etc., but here we have a documentary on a topic that fascinates me more than anything. So, while I apologies for my bias, I suspect it is bias which has played a major role on this title not receiving 10/10 all across the board. To me this documentary-movie is the greatest piece of art in television history because it visualises the absolute boundaries of the human knowledge. To take the viewer through a 'zoom-out style' journey is brilliant in its own right, but to achieve subtly highlighting just how small we are is another major plus. It's been 10 years (at the time of my review), I have watched it countless times, and the narration throughout has informed me loud and clear that we are probably just scratching the surface.

Dear NatGeo, please tell me more.
