If you like Pokemon, you will probably enjoy the movie. If you don't care about Pokemon, don't watch it - the story alone does not make a good movie.

A Simple Favor (2018)

Was decent... until it wasn't

The movie was quite enjoyable for the longest time. Well paced, well acted (mostly). Then the conclusion happened. Like seriously what where they thinking.

Not only was it bad (I guess that's just an opinion, but still), it was also a lot worse written, paced and acted than the rest of the movie, up to the point where the only explanation is that the producers or SOMEONE wanted the ending changed to... this. The movie would have been a lot better if it just ended half an hour earlier. The ending is one of the worst I have seen in years.

I Can Only Imagine (2018)

Feels a little too missionary. Great acting, one dimensional characters.

Giving a decent rating for the acting. Everything else felt like something was missing. The pacing of the writing is off sometimes, the actual interesting philosophic questions are not asked. Faith is never questioned, despite many challenges in the life of the protagonist.

Mission: Impossible - Fallout (2018)

Nothing but your average Tom Cruise Action Movie

To anyone who isn't a huge Tom Cruise or Mission Impossiblle fan: don't get fooled by the superbly positive reviews here. It's average. It's ridiculously predictable, the plot mostly feels like your average 24 or NCIS episode. The action scenes are mostly well made (apart from some physically impossible stuff, but well... it's an action movie), so the movie is okay for a brain off action on session, but it's really nothing more. The acting is at best okay overall. The worst thing is that this movie just doesn't do anything to deserve all these absurd 9 and 10 ratings, making me wonder how many of these are just paid for.
