Avatar: The Last Airbender (2024)
Exceeded expectations
I've been anxiously waiting for this series. And boy was I surprised. The effects are superb and the child actors are really good. The story is easy to follow, and for those that haven't watched the cartoon for whatever reason, they're in for a treat. This series meets all the challenges for an audience that may not know anything about this story. The series is dramatic, humorous, thrilling and just plain ole fun to watch. I took all day binge watching this series from start to finish and I was fully immersed and gratefully satisfied with what I experienced. I hope there will be more in the future. Frankly no show, series or movie can realistically satisfy everyone. But I for one throughly enjoyed myself watching this show. Well done 👍👍
C'era una volta il West (1968)
Top notch western
I was enthralled by this film. It is the first western I've ever seen that was in my humble opinion a true piece of art. If you're looking for an action film, then you've come to the wrong place. This is a heavy, methodic drama with some superior acting from some of Hollywood's best. I won't go into the storyline because I'm sure that you've already read that much by now. Just be prepared to take your time soaking in this film as it plays out before you. Because believe me when I tell you, the director takes his time setting up the mood in every scene. If you haven't the time or patience for that kind of film, well then all I can say is, it's your loss. This film is a classic. The acting is excellent as well as everything else about this movie. When viewing this film, it would be best if you have several hours of uninterrupted time to quietly take it in and appreciate the experience! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
The Munsters (2022)
Horrible
This monstrosity was a hideous attempt and the film would serve a better purpose, if it were cut up into guitar picks! Total waste of time! Rob Zombie would do better if he stuck to his obvious strengths which are horror movies. Because evidently he hasn't the talent for comedy. I was seriously hoping for something way better than this horrid mistake. I grew up loving the original comedy classic Munsters TV show and I honestly throughly enjoyed the campy 60s movie as well. But what a huge disappointment this this this, whatever it is, turned out to be! I gave it one star mainly because there isn't a rating that goes any lower.
The Human Centipede III (Final Sequence) (2015)
Vile
If you like puking up your popcorn while watching a movie, this might be right up your alley! There is nothing even remotely good or horror related about this movie! It is a horrible film, but hardly justifies as a 'horror' film. It is nothing more than plain filth! The writers or creators of this garbage should be ashamed of themselves.
The Human Centipede II (Full Sequence) (2011)
Garbage
The most vile film ever. Disgusting piece of trash! A complete waste of time to watch! Keep a puke bucket close by for when you can no longer hold your lunch.
The Human Centipede (First Sequence) (2009)
Nauseous and revolting
In my opinion this was by far the most vile disgusting piece of trash I've ever had the misfortune to watch! You could not pay me enough money to sit through another viewing of this waste of a film! The production company would do themselves and the rest of humanity a huge favor if they cut up the original film into guitar picks. The only positive thing that can from the making of this garbage is my hope that the actors and the rest of the production crew got paid for their work. Other than that, it's a complete waste of film.
God's Not Dead: We the People (2021)
Pathetic
Another stupid Christian movie! God I'm sick to death of these self righteous condescending films. And yes I said "God" because surprise surprise I do believe in God. But this holier than thou pablum is embarrassing. It only proves the producers insecurities and their constant need for validation and spiritual superiority over the rest of us "poor uneducated wayward souls" These kind of movies don't elevate people, they insult them! Trust me I've seen the eye rolls and shaking heads! These kind of faith based movies are only for those that already believe. They do nothing to bring the human family together, they only further divide and separate us. This movie was just another film in a long string of faith based productions that have been a huge disappointment.
Shortcut (2020)
Great little creature feature
If you're looking for a masterpiece, then this ain't it! But if you're looking for a good popcorn movie for a Friday night, then look no further! This movie about a bunch of teenagers stuck in a tunnel on a bus trying to hide from a gruesome creature of the night is a good little horror flick. To be very honest I spent half the movie yelling at the screen when the kids did something stupid and that was most of the time lol the creature special effects were good, the actors did a good job too. None of them are gonna get an Oscar lol but come on, let's be real here, this movie just a nice little escapist bit of fun anyway. I for one throughly enjoyed it! Give it a look see and after 10-15 minutes if you don't care for it, don't watch it.
La nuée (2020)
Creepy
This movie is about locusts that have an appetite for blood. If you don't like creepy crawlers that eat blood to live then this is definitely not the movie for you. I like it a lot lol.
Life Like (2019)
Hated it
I absolutely did not like the spoiled wife! I found her character completely unsympathetic. I never saw such a selfish, self centered, morally superior person in my life. The husband I liked and felt sorry for as well as Henry too. But this movie was maddening. I couldn't wait for it to end! That's almost an hour and a half I'll never get back! Hope experience is a lot better than mine, but if it isn't, you've been warned.
Bad Trip (2021)
Cringe worthy yet funny too!
This film was goofy as hell. I couldn't stop saying OMG throughout the whole movie.
The Dead Don't Die (2019)
Cashing in
This is a cynical attempt to use the zombie cash cow to do just that, cash in on the latest craze to hit the entertainment industry. I thought it was pretentious and condescending. The only thing good about the movie was the quality of the direction. The actors (all of who I appreciate very much) basically did a walk through throughout the whole film. When I first saw the big names attached and the zombie storyline, my first thought was anticipation. But about a third of the way through the film, I realized I was being played. Then my disappointment only grew and my interest withered to soon be replaced by disgust. Do not waste your time on this stupid attempt at making a zombie movie. If it was advertised as satire with comedy attached, then I wouldn't have even bothered wasting my time in the first place. But I was lead to believe otherwise. Throughly disappointed! Update; I gave it another look and my opinion has not changed except I've grown more disappointed with this film. A sad attempt to cash in. Thank God the film is a flop.
The Package (2018)
Hilarious
Silly, funny but very crude comedy about guy who has an unfortunate accident. I laughed out loud a lot watching this movie! A good pizza night movie.
The Changeling (1980)
Spooky old Mansion with a ton of secrets.
If you enjoy an old fashioned haunted mansion storyline with brilliant actors and good writing plus great atmospheric directing, then this the popcorn movie for you. There are no spectacular special effects to thrill you or shock you, just great acting with all the chills you get with things that go bump in the night. George C. Scott plays a composer who's suffered a great loss and decides to get away to deal with his losses quietly. But is the last thing he gets when he rents a deserted old mansion. Sit back, turn off the lights and your phone lol and be prepared for a night filled with chills and goosebumps. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
