Tears for Tantura
28 November 2023
This is a very revealing film which documents the horrendous massacres committed against the indigenous people of Palestine. The interviewer skillfully exposes the repetitive lies and excuses concocted by certain members of the zionist militias as they ransacked village after village with the peaceful seaside hamlet of Tantura being the focal point of this documentary. It was refreshing to hear the truth being told from time to time. Interviewing Ilan Pappe for this film was excellent as he is the foremost Israeli scholar on the events that transpired during The Nakba. Very educational and well worthy of a watch.

Best Canadian film hands down
29 October 2023
From the moment you hear the very young Bruce Cockburn opening song to the final scene of driving into the western unknown, this excellent piece of Canadian cinematic art captures the lives of all involved in true dramatic form. The fact that the director, Donald Shebib, used some scenes without trained actors and relied on some of the gritty characters in downtown Toronto was a welcomed realistic touch. I miss the feel of the movies from the early 1970's. The over the top CGI laden films of today just can't seem to capture the essence of genuine humanity. This movie is a classic keeper and should be part of the curriculum for those attending any film school. It will enrich your program and your perception in the most rewarding fashion.

Fools Golda
10 October 2023
From the opening scene and for the longest time I thought this 'movie' was nothing more than a very boring cigarette commercial. All the characters had a smoke going at all times. The tobacco companies had to be happy; even though they must have tossed in a pretty penny for the production costs. The character portraying Golda Meir should have been made more believable along with that one-eyed Dayan. It would have made the movie more realistic and engaging.

Personally I don't care for these revisionist films. I wish they would have stuck more to actual historical events other than inventing stuff along the way. Unfortunately, historical accuracy was not utilized in the production, which would have made the film more realistic and worthy of a watch.

Great throughout until the sour ending
16 June 2023
The "Arnold" documentary was well done; entertaining and poignant. It was good to see him in his candidly comical and mischievous self-assured self. He certainly personifies a person who set goals for himself and followed them through to fruition. Good on ya Arnold. You had me until the end. Unfortunately, the ending was a bit of a disappointment. His viewpoint on historical events and contemporary issues brought into question his credibility. If they would have ended the otherwise fine documentary in another manner, Arnold would have saved face and secured a more trusting fan base and viewing audience.

Interesting walk down memory lane
9 February 2023
The film restoration was beautifully completed. The camera work was well done considering it was shot by an amateur. The editing was a little abrupt. I would have liked to actually hear what was being said among the folks in the shots as opposed to relying on the narrator's version of what was transpiring on camera. The segue away from the home movies to the old documentary style footage was disjointed and unnecessary.

Everyone seemed pretty happy in the mountain retreat surrounded by the stunning scenery of the mountains. The skiing with a sport coat was comical. I guess a sign of the times. There was an abundance of information about the relationship between Adolf Hitler and Eva Braun. People might rush to judgement and vilify Hitler for being 23 years older than Eva Braun. It was also informative that one of the main goals of the National Socialists was their desire to eradicate Bolshevism.

Peddling Propaganda
18 January 2023
This so-called 'documentary' feels more like a promotional infomercial. I didn't feel like the presentation convinced me of what they were promoting. The people they used to convey their message were neither believable nor credible. Throughout the film, I felt like they were trying too hard to get their agenda across, which left me with too many questions and lots of doubt.

Lastly; the main presenter who constantly revealed his 'awakening' and 'conversion' with religious zeal was not in the least bit believable. He slipped up a few times with some of his personal comments which led me to believe he was nothing more than an imposter planted in this farcical charade to make it appear more believable. He fails; and this promotional film fails as well.

Forget the Fables
12 January 2023
This is certainly not a stellar performance from Spielberg, as some of his dire supporters suggest. Just because it has Spielberg's name attached to it and supposedly chronicles his life, doesn't mean it will translate well onto the screen. It's unfortunate that Michelle Williams lent her name to this project as she has a decent previous resume. This movie is too long and too tedious and too dull. It also shamelessly has scenes of anti-Christianite behaviour with overtly tiresome tropes on Catholicism. It's hard to imagine that someone who gave us "Jaws" would stoop to such depravity and utter nonsense.

Rehashed & Refurbished
8 October 2022
This Ken Burns documentary was not up to the standards of his previous documentaries. Peter Coyote is a fine narrator and always pleasant to listen to. It was interesting in the first episode dealing with the prejudices and racist attitudes in the US with the influx of immigration concerns.

There were a number of historical inaccuracies that took away from what the documentary was attempting to portray. Historical documentaries need to do more than tell the viewer what happened; they need to ask the question why certain incidences occurred in order to better understand the issues being presented. There were a number of historical omissions that would have explained things more in depth. For instance; how the slaughter of 66 million Christians and Russians by the Bolsheviks influenced the mindset of the Germans during this time. The documentary also lost some credibility by having Deborah Lipstadt as a voice of authority as her input took away from some of the plausible historical accuracies with her repetitive accusatory conjecture presented as fact.

Other than that, there wasn't much revealed that hasn't been covered countless times before.

Hard to take serious
1 September 2022
The hype and hysteria surrounding the release of this sequel was overplayed for what was delivered. It appears the screenwriters just copied the format from the first installment and applied it to this one. Once again, the tentacles of the Pentagon were all over this, as is the case with all movies that the American military are portrayed. This is yet another extended advertisement for the US military machine to induce induction into their ranks.

It didn't take long into this dramatization that the enemy du jour was the one supposedly enriching uranium to a degree that wasn't favourable to a key US ally in the region. (See: Iran and the Zionist entity) Although, when the mission moved into the landscape of "the enemy", it looked surprisingly like Russia or Canada, both with an abundance of natural resources that the US would salivate over coveting. Geopolitical wet dreams aside, the acting was humdrum and the lines predictable, although having Jennifer Connelly in a decent role was enjoyable. Also, the addition of Val Kilmer was a nice gesture given the debilitating illness he presently suffers from.

My only concern about the propagandistic influence of this type of movie is that it might produce a third installment.

Pandering to the papal perversions
10 August 2022
This is yet another movie that plays into the notion that if you're a Catholic priest, then you're more than likely a kiddie diddler. There are so many movies that portray the Catholic priests as the one and only perverts of pleasure. If one was to do a little research into this social phenomena, they would come across some rather interesting yet rarely publicized facts. But I doubt that the powers that reside in Hollywood would entertain the idea of having a similar movie with the title "Rabbi" anytime soon.

Where's the Blood?
14 July 2022
While I can understand that when some people make a documentary of someone's life, they want to paint a positive picture; like the subject person was a lovely human being that could do no wrong. But come on folks; this fella was deeply involved in so many of the human rights abuses and war crimes against the indigenous people of Palestine, that this nauseating spin on his dubious life just doesn't cut it as a serious and believable documentary.

When elephants fight, it's the grass that suffers
29 April 2022
It's unfortunate that people these days are overrun with emotions when it comes to the issues concerning the Ukraine. This presentation presents particular people with their own misguided purpose. It rarely exposes the facts as to why things have gotten so out of hand. It also doesn't give the viewer a more in depth analysis of the principal players involved; and certainly doesn't expose the very real and troubling influence of the Azov Nazi Battalion within Ukraine.

This production seems more like the typical tiresome American propaganda with direct funding and support from the neo-con Washington war hoes. For a more honest portrayal of the history of the region and current issues of the present day conflict, a viewer would be better served by watching "Ukraine on Fire" (2016) or "Revealing Ukraine" (2019)

Lame in the least
21 December 2021
This was a rather lame attempt to vilify Adolf Hitler and his personality. A documentary should at least make a cursory attempt to present both sides of the coin. Instead we get a hodgepodge of Hitler haters and ill-equipped pseudo historical speculators. The non-credential talking heads they used to justify the points they unconvincingly spewed out discredited the documentaries dubious message.

Anyone with any actual historical knowledge of the title character gets mocked and libelled. There was nothing mentioned about how Hitler became so enormously popular among the German people; nor any mention of his many accomplishments. Since his time frame in history is mainly focused around the Second World War, perhaps something should have been mentioned about the numerous battles his military engaged in; both successful and unsuccessful.

It should also be noted that no one has yet to lay claim to the cash award offered by the British historian David Irving.

Canadian Immigration History
30 August 2021
Excellent portrayal of immigration into Canada by different groups who struggled to build a life for themselves in a new land.

This is the kind of history Canadian students should be exposed to as it would benefit them greatly in knowing who assisted in the development of Canada.

Honesty is the best policy
22 May 2021
Fairly accurate documentary, except for the fact that they didn't go far enough into the wheeling and dealing and scheming and stealing by the sinister group behind the continued malicious madness we still see today. Albert Einstein was spot on when he stated in a letter published by the New York Times in 1948 that Zionists "have preached an admixture of ultra-nationalism, religious mysticism, and racial superiority."

Talking the Talk, Walking the Walk
16 May 2021
This is a fine documentary showing what it takes to be committed to a cause. Sean Penn discarded his celebrity status; unless it was to fund raise; which is totally acceptable; and did a great degree of the heavy lifting in applying much needed assistance to the impoverished and disaster ridden people of Haiti. Bravo Mr. Penn.

Glaring Omission
31 March 2021
I like documentaries that present both sides of the issue; with a degree of honesty and with understandably biased opinions from competing sides. This presentation harped on about the tiresome blame game directed at the foreign influence of the Russian Red Menace; without a peep about the overwhelmingly obvious manipulative pressure imposed upon the US politicians by the self-serving Zionists and the Ashkenazis. Any novice researcher can uncover the depth and range of the most troublesome controlling element in American politics; and it's far from the alleged culprit presented in this poorly plotted production.

Unaccountable accusations
18 March 2021
This whole segment of the distant past seems to be a battle between the deniers and the liars. This documentary certainly gave the platform to the eternal victims. Having the likes of the disreputable Dershowitz in their corner didn't help their cause. The film certainly displayed the insatiable lust for vengeance; even upon the unfortunate innocent individuals who were caught up in the bloodlust. The haphazard method the filmmaker used in order to garner sympathy towards the viewer was transparently obvious and somewhat insulting given the repetitively tiresome method used. In the end, I was left with a number of concerns with the dubious evidence presented and was therefore inspired to investigate the issues presented and see what factual verifications I could uncover doing my own research and reviews.

Woody Gotta Woody
18 March 2021
First off: Ignore the transparently bogus negative reviews. Most have only one review entry to their dubious claim to fame. Imagine that. The documentary is well done and is presented fairly and accurately. Mia Farrow comes across sincere and credible and more believable than Woody Allen. I like a number of Woody Allen's movies; as I have in past with Roman Polanski films and even some of Harvey Weinstein's productions; but I wouldn't have any of them babysit my kids or be alone with my little sisters or my young wife. It is unfortunate for those who hold these film makers in such high regard as to turn a blind eye to their nefarious antics. But as with the other cast of predatory pedophiles and perverts and the documentaries that exposed them: Jeffrey Epstein, Allen Dershowitz, Harvey Weinstein, Roman Polanski, Anthony Weiner, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, James Toback, etc.,etc.,etc;....they cannot hide behind their lame lies and alibis any longer. After we discover and uncover the guilt of Woody Allen, we are left with the obvious and overlooked question of 'why' he did what he did. I think a follow-up documentary might be in order; investigating why such atrocities occur. Some people seem to have their DNA more hardwired into committing these nefarious acts than others. Perhaps looking into why the descendants from the warring and whoring phallic worshipping pagan tribe from former Khazaria are more genetically predisposed into pedophilia and perversion. I can only imagine where they get their sense of entitlement to commit such horrendous acts upon the innocent.

The background music should not have brought itself into the foreground. I would have enjoyed listening to the people speaking instead of the excessively irritating loud music drowning out the words. Unfortunately a big fail. Sorry Sweet Daddy. :(

A Lame Blame
10 June 2020
This misrepresentation was aimed at the gullible and easily led. The climate does play a hand at creating famine, natural disasters, etc., which in turn can cause civil unrest and mass migration; but to put all ones eggs in the terror basket as the sole cause of the numerous pockets of global misery......is a real stretch......that even Elastic Man would have difficulty attempting. This documentary is more of a promo presentation for the American military with transparent attempts at declaring that they alone can combat this global menace. I gave it a 3 points on the quality of the cinematography. I deducted 7 marks for its outlandish foolishness and overt stupidity.

Absolute waste of time

When will it end? The movie? The war? The constant endless conveyor belt of these lame attempts to vilify and victimize are so transparently bogus that any real researcher or astute historian can expose its endless shortcomings and outrageous exaggerations and outright lies.

Sadly over-the-top
27 October 2018
Spike Lee must be cash-strapped to make a movie these days as he obviously had to pander to certain elements to get this farcical adaptation onto the screen. The over-the-top representation of the differing elements in the story made it farcical and unfortunately laughable; whereas a more serious approach to the issues and the people involved would have made viewing this film more legitimate and a reasonable approach to a troubled history.
