2012: Doomsday (2008 Video)

where to start?
12 September 2008
As others have written, this movie is simply horrible. It really should have been billed as a comedy because of the plentiful blatant continuity errors.

Aside from that, the plot is completely stupid, the special effects are from the 1950s, the dialog is not believable, the camera work is sophomoric and the acting is ridiculous...the whole movie is completely hard to stomach. Every 5 minutes there is some stupid tagline text, like "San Diego, CA...10 hours before DOOMSDAY"...in one of them the text on one line is half on top of the text on the next line, its just a truly unprofessional movie done by an incompetent director with zero attention to detail.

There is nothing good to say about this movie. It might as well have been done by a first year film student as a mid year project.

No need to check the box "contains spoiler"

There is no need for the box "Contains Spoiler" on this movie because there is no plot to spoil. It's basically a mental rant of characters placed in unlikely situations that leads to an obvious conclusion. I'd say it was like softcore, but even the sex scenes, of which there are way too many for a legitimate movie, are dumb. What little character development there actually is, is completely trite and without depth. Aside from a somewhat questionable performance by Neve Campbell, the film is littered with boring and typical acting by the "not quite making it" crowd. Another triumphantly pointless and boring movie by Toback- hurray!

Huh??

Warning: Spoilers
You really have to wonder who in their right mind would agree to bankroll such a ridiculous and trite script. I mean, honestly, close up camera shots with fluttering birds? It reminds me of Scooby Doo. the scariest thing about this movie is that anyone would think that is does justice to the original Exorcist, which was a true psychological thriller. And whats with the Nazis? So many loose ends that never get explained. Not only is this film simply boring, it just rambles from scene to scene without any sort of momentum. And, oh ya, lets go dig up some graves, but, let's do it in the middle of the night, alone, with heyenas running all over the place- add a little mist and a full moon and you'll win the Bulwer-Lytton fiction contest. Oooo- spooky!
