The Conners (2018)
Too Much Laurie Metcalf
In the first episode of this new season, the character played by Laurie Metcalf is just plain obnoxious and irritating. About 1/4 of the way through the episode I found myself fast forwarding through her (so called) performances. I am not sure if I will stick with this show if her character continues the excessive obnoxious screen time. I enjoy the other character's performances, but not enough to put up with metcalf.
Rules of Engagement (2007)
A Very Bad Show
I have tried to enjoy this show. The characters are beyond annoying. In other sit coms the characters have some relationship with how people act in the real world. There is no reason for the Married Couple to be married. And they are bringing a child into the world. That will not go well for the child. The engaged couple just should not get married. Do not understand why they are still together. The character played by david spade is just not a decent person. He has absolutely no redeeming values. In the real life he would have lost not only his job (even if his father owns the company), but his acquaintances (certainly not friends) would have beat him severely and then severed all ties with him. Just a terrible show.
Call Me Kat (2021)
Disappointing Show
I had high hopes for this show. After the latest episode, #5, I am done with it. The constant talking to the viewer is annoying. It does not help with the plot line. Most of the characters are good. Swoozie Kurtz' character is just plain bad. And then we are subjected to the actors getting together for a bad dance routine while waving.
United We Fall (2020)
A Little Disappointed
I had great hopes for this when I saw Will Sasso was staring. Then Jane Curtain's character is just wrongly directed and written. Her character could be improved/re-written. The wife's brother needs to be written out entirely. Tone down the laugh track. I do believe that the family could carry this show much better with the above changes
The Unicorn (2019)
Get rid of his friends
I had great hopes for this show. But these friends are more than intrusive. They are obnoxiously interfering with the character played by Walter as he deals with his grief after losing his wife. Walter Goggins, Ruby Jay, and Makenzie Ross are great in their characters. The "friends" are just bad people who are not supportive in any way. As one who has suffered a loss like the main character I speak with confidence when I say that "friends" like these are not friends. I am done with this series. It cannot be canceled too soon.
