Mothers' Instinct (2024)
It was all great, aside from the ending
Really enjoyed it till the ending, it was probably an 8/10 most of the way through. Then the last 15 minutes the rest of the film goes out the window.
Before this it was enjoyable, great acting all around. You aren't quite sure which of the two leads to believe, who's nuts and who's not. By the time you find out there are so many plot holes popping up that you start to laugh. For example the blonde housewife all of a sudden panically checks the medicine cabinet of her neighbour (why all of a sudden panicked? She wanted to go in there and check before anyway) then when she does, OMG - once box of chloroform - her husband worked for a pharma company, couldn't that be relatively normal? It wasn't a huge quanitity?
Anyway even this aside the ending was pretty disappointing 😢
The Umbrella Academy (2019)
It's actually a good show
The one main thing pulling the rating down for me is Vanya, I thought the whole way that was dealt with in season3 was really just stuck down our throats, so much so it made me cringe for the rest of the 3rd season every time she appeared... bleughhh gives me shivers just thinking about it!
Five, Klaus and Ben were on point for me. Even The Luther and Sloane storyline I found entertaining!
Bridgerton (2020)
Pc rubbish
Watched an episode because it was getting forced on me. It was a load of drivel, so much political correctness it hurt, the story may have been good but there were so many things in this that just wouldn't have happened back then it bewilders so much that you can't focus on anything else 😅
Mary Queen of Scots (2018)
A film made by the PC police
This is hardly a historical drama, nothing is accurate whatsoever. The attitude to everything at the time would've been a complete 180 as to how it's portrayed! If you're going to make a film like this don't set it in the 1500's and don't base in on historical figures.
Some of the shots were nice but that's all it had going for it. I almost stopped watching it twice but sucked it up until the end and then wondered why I wasted my time. Hopefully if you're reading this you won't waste yours.
Medici (2016)
Absolutely brilliant
Just finished the 3rd series, absolutely loved it, seriously underrated. The story, the scenery and the soundtrack was superb, I really wish they'd make more 😢😢😢
The Open House (2018)
Terrible, shouldn't have been released
Don't waste your time on this, I ended up laughing at the end as the kid's hair and eyebrows were frozen after being outside for 5 mins... and then 12 hours later he still has the same frozen patches after being indoors and out..
