Love's Last Resort (2017 TV Movie)

Don't kill 2 hours of your life! Don't watch!
16 November 2023
I am really Sorry. I never write a bad review for a movie. Never. And if it turns out that I just hate the movie, I will simply not write a review at all. However, this is without a doubt the worst movie I have seen in a long, long while. It brings back memories of those awful 80s shows. Even so, there are A couple of the actors which are actually quite good and may have a chance if they are careful not to ever accept another role such as this one. Seeing this movie was a last resort! It is not anything it was originally advertised to be. Romantic.... NOT, A Comedy.... NOT, Cheerful.... NOT, Heartwarming.... NOT.

I've called Louisiana home for 67 years...
17 October 2023
The acting is superb. Even so, Not everyone will completely understand the Soul of this movie. My neighbors have been the Cajuns, the Creoles and the Southern folks my entire life. This movie tells a truth about Louisiana. While our life stories all differ , they all have the same raw uncomplicated truth about them. Louisiana people are good people that will give you the shirt off their backs. They'll feed you, they'll pray for you and give you a place to heal and , to your delight, will even entertain you. However, don't come to Louisiana and act an ass! You won't like the outcome. If you fool around down here, you will be invited to dine with the gators. Lol.

Very revealing... about the journalist who wrote it
21 April 2023
Why would journalist Laurence Haïm completely destroy his credibility just to take the opportunity to smear Melania Trump? You have to be full of hate and jealousy to put that type of ugliness out there about a past First Lady. If you don't like her, fine. However, to put something like this into history speaks volumes about a persons own character. Melania Trump will go on, however Haim will be forever remembered by this stain.

To be fair, just recently I actually read an article about Michelle Obama. This so called " journalist " spent two and a half pages of his four page article trying to convince his readers that Michelle was a man. Absolutely unbelievable what we are labeling as journalists these days. Sad!

Close but no cigar

The two lead characters did a really good job. I'd love to see them in something else with a stronger role. The movie itself had several spots where you were waiting for that special moment, but it never quite got there. The younger sister was also a good character, with a really good little actor Playing that part. It would have been great to have seen her character built up more and more screen time. . Groundhog Day was an awesome movie. However, this movie trying at the same theme never got pass the sweet little movie stage. It was the story line not the actors. A 10 for the cast and a 5 for the sweet little movie.

Very Realistic
20 June 2022
I can't understand why all the bad reviews on this movie. Sounds like a personal thing to me. I see the movie very realistic. It is a little soft, but it's a good start exposing Hollywood and exactly what is going on. Now I'm waiting for Part 2. Come on people, we're ready. Let's hear the whole truth! 😉

It never gets old

One of the funniest movies I've ever seen.

I had a group of friends and all 12 of us loved this movie. There was always someone wanting to watch it.

So I would watch it will them... I have seen it dozens of times and still laugh! Great movie! Dudley Moore at his best.

No spiritual content...no heart
20 November 2020
Dr, Beatrix Cera, the leading character in this movie was completely unbelievable. There is no way anyone would ever believe the actor playing the lead role of Dr. Cera was a world renown Scientist. The movie was more of a Sc-fi than a Biblical picture. There wasn't any spiritual content or flow to the movie.

A movie that stays with you...
4 June 2019
Warning: Spoilers
A movie meant to be viewed with your "spiritual man" as well the physical. I gave a 7 stars rating which I thought was very deserving. There was a lot going on with the storyline. It seemed to me to have two possible movies combined into one plot. The young boy dying was intended for the main storyline. But then there was the IRA story which was pretty heavy and the side story of the young man carrying the pain of Seeing his father murdered. Like I said, a lot going on, but very well blended together. The acting was very good (9) and the music was wonderful(10) and perfect for the movie. And of course there is the location...Ireland!! I just love Ireland and the people there. For the ones who likes to have their endings all wrapped up tidy with sunshine, this is not your picture. As for me, I love the ending. It keeps the movie with you long after the credits have rolled.

One of my very favorite movies...
1 March 2019
I love this movie so much for many reasons. Of course, the amazing performances from this talented and superb cast is the main reason to add this film to a favorites list. However, I was raised by similar folks, in a similar setting and with very similar values. I can relate to pretty much every aspect of the movie. From the preacher father right down to the siblings that are completely different....but then they're not. I have watched this movie at least once a year since it was first released. And at every viewing I cried like a baby. Not just a few tears but actually weep. The film is just so real and beautifully done that it alway releases many buried feelings. My favorite character is ,Craig Sheffer, Norman. Robert Redford did an amazing directing job and was the perfect voice for the narrator. All this said I still think the movie could have never been so wonderful if it were shot anywhere other than Montana. What a gorgeous state!

Redford is a class act...
1 March 2019
To have Robery Redford and Sissy Spacak together is a great treat! It did seem like the flim never picked up the momentum you keep looking for. Kind of like the heart was missing. I did keep feeling like Spacak had so much more she could have given but for some reason was holding back. All that said, I am a huge Robert Redford fan. He is superb! I'm hoping maybe there will be one more film before the end. This is too hard for us Redford fans! For me, this movie just doesn't leave me with enough to savor or hold on to.

A movie you don't forget!
4 January 2019
I loved this movie. Burt Reynolds was quite the hunk and Jerry Reed was the perfect sidekick. I think Sally Field never looked better and she and Burt had amazing chemistry! It was one of those films that left you feeling good and driving way too fast on your way home from the theater. It's sad to think that several of the actors in this movie have passed, with Burt and Jerry being the most recent lost.

Kingsley not the best Moses
26 December 2018
While Ben Kingsley is a great actor his adaptation of Moses is not one of his better roles. He simply is not believable as the great Hebrew leader. Regardless of this fact the movie is definitely worth watching.
