Stay (2021)
You get what you don't pay for
This is not a terrible movie. It has a good arch, you get to follow the decline of the relationship and mental health of the main character. It has some decent scares midway through the movie and the home video type of filming is rather unsettling. The issue is poor acting and a pretty bad script. The lines are forced and unnatural which might explain the acting. Jesse LeNoir does a decent job as the boyfriend Julian. Seriously if you want a Russian janitor, get a Russian to do it as that was the most horrid fake accent I have heard in a long time. Expect a chill watch or watch something else but don't expect a good horror flick or great acting on a low budget.
What the Health (2017)
I wanted this to be the holy grail of documentaries but....
I agree with many if not most of the arguments made in this documentary but it is not a documentary it is an opinion piece. Not once does he interview someone with another opinion in a non biased way.
Again, it is hard to criticise someone that you agree with but if I wanted a 1h 32m meat and dairy bashing session I would watch a lecture and not a documentary. When I choose the second option I will trust that person to present all the arguments despite personal feelings, this documentary fails miserably at that.
