Bonanza: Hoss and the Leprechauns (1963)
Most Loved Episode
This episode was mentioned by Roseanne Barr on her show because it was never forgotten by kids who saw it back then. It was a kind of Christmas event, being shown in the holiday season.
However, there was something about this show I had definitely forgotten. It was shown just about ten days after JFK's assassination when the country definitely needed a laugh.
Antony and Cleopatra (1972)
Don't Believe Reviews
I've seen my share of Shakespeare. Based on reviews, I assumed this would be deficient in some way. I was genuinely surprised by how good it was. I even watched it twice. I don't know or care why this got lousy reviews.
Of course, it is Shakespeare. And it helps to be basically familiar with the historical events this is based on.
I've seen a lot of the bard's plays and movies based on them. One great thing about movies is you can turn on the closed captioning and read the words as well. It really helps.
Was this julius caesar with Brandon? No.
Was it richard the third with olivier? No.
Was it right behind those two? Yes, it really was. Charlton Heston was the third best Shakespearean actor I've seen and that's well worth watching if you like Shakespearen movies.
