Bastard's Crossing (2021)
Thoroughly enjoyable.
With exceptional performances from the whole cast, superb cinematography and suitably dressed sets, this dark, yet at times humorous Western film will entertain all age groups.
It's low budget has in no way detracted from the overall quality of the film other than an occasional sound quality issue as is found in most independently made films. I was engrossed in the story from start to finish despite it's purposeful slow pace. Without hesitation i can recommend this film to all audiences, not just to fans of the Western genre.
Stagecoach: The Texas Jack Story (2016)
Western entertainment at its simplistic best.
Kim Coates steals the show in my opinion with his Good guy turned bad guy character. The former bad guys turn good and somehow you end up on their side and cheering them on. 90 minutes of action and excitement.
Dead Men (2018)
Something for everyone.
A thoroughly enjoyable production. If you want entertainment by the way of a traditional Western then this is exactly what you will get from this film. Action packed with thrills and spills and plenty of gunfire, there is something in this for everyone.
If you are looking for historical accuracy then go watch a documentary.
Silver Slipper (2019)
Running Wild Films best to date.
Contrary to what one might presume, this film is in no way sleazy. It deals with the girls journey, with the clinical processes and with her emotional processes leading up to the closing of the deal. Though the subject matter itself may not be suited to younger viewers, the film itself contains no nudity and is unlikely to offend young adults or your grandma.
The film production is top quality for a low budget project, which is what Travis Mills and Running Wild Films do best.
I highly recommend this film.
Meek's Cutoff (2010)
A chill out film.
The intentional slow pace of this film is what made it so enjoyable. It allows you to sit back relax and soak in the beautiful unspoilt Western landscapes and to dwell on the storyline. It won't get your heart racing but it will leave you content and relaxed.
My only gripe is that the ending was sudden, unexpected and disappointing. The film felt unfinished.
Son of a Gun (2019)
A very believable tale.
As in real life when a tale is told over and over the truth and the lies begin to blur. When the truth exposes a lie then more lies, new lies must be told to save face. Travis Mills tells this tale over and over revealing a little more truth each time along with the explanation for the lies previously told, until ultimately the whole truth is revealed. I was captivated throughout.
The whole cast performed believable roles but Cotton Yancey deserves a special mention for excelling in his role as the Doctor.
A quality indie production. There are one or two minor sound issues but they in no way detracted from a thoroughly enjoyable film.
