Best Movie Ever
17 July 2019
Forget best superhero movie ever, this film should always be considered among the best movies ever. It is a cinematic perfect storm. Firstly, there is (and probably always will be) one of the premier directors in Hollywood, Christopher Nolan. Pretty much everything he's had a hand in has turned to gold. Then, you bring in a young and brilliant actor like Heath Ledger to portray the Joker we all needed. His portrayal of a truly maniacal, homicidal mad man honestly harkens back to what he was meant to be.

A Season Handled Poorly...
25 June 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Im in the midst of binge watching right now. I'm unsure if it's on Probst or the shows producers, but this season's being handled crappy so far. A contestant has an ill family member and wants to leave. Probst spends half the episode talking to everyone about it. Its like it turns into a talk show. Then, in the end, Jeff still wants to have tribal council. Just let the poor person go home already!

It starts out promising but...

Don't get me wrong, I love the premise of the show. Adventure, end of the world, apocalypse, and all that. The characters/writing, however, are the downfall of the series. I mean how long does it take for it to click with what's happening?? They are all so slow and stupid. Nobody can just explain what's happening.

A Different Kind of Sci-fi Movie
20 January 2019
The best way I could describe this movie as a combination of the Day the Earth Stood Still and Close Encounters of the Third Kind. It is certainly not your typical "blow-em up shoot-em up" movies like Independence Day or Transformers. It has a continual ethereal feel throughout and definitely thought provoking. Do I think it's an epic and life-altering movie? Not hardly. However, as a sci-fi fan, it should definitely be on your watchlist.

A Guilty Pleasure
10 January 2019
I don't know how this movie isn't rated higher. I remember this movie came out shortly after my oldest sister's wedding. I have really only enjoyed both Martin and Keaton in a few movies, but this one certainly. I felt like they pulled us right into their family to experience the joys and pains that go into preparing a wedding. And, Martin Short was a great addition and character in the movie. He was caring but also inputted a great comedic side as well.

Ohhh, no no
7 January 2019
What a disappointment. This is the reason why I'm a Marvel fan. Aquaman was so cheesy, corny, and over the top. The introduction of Black Manta was completely superfluous to the movie. It was derivative of so many other movies (Clash of the Titans, Tron, Thor, Avatar, Moana, among others). I wish I'd gone to Spider-Man instead.

It Got a Bad Rap

I think a lot of viewers wanted to compare this movie to Armageddon, especially since they were released so closely together. However, while the main storyline is similar, that's were the similarities end. Just because Deep Impact didn't have everything going "BOOM" like Armageddon did, doesn't make it a boring movie. I was caught up in the narrative, the characters and the "heart" in this movie. There was substance in the storytelling. Duvall excels in leading a group of young, hotshot astronauts into space.

Law, Justice, Capitol Punishment & a Higher Power?

It's a better and more insightful episode than reviews suggest. It's more than a story about Wesley touching the grass. It's how society views very crucial aspects of their existence.

For me, this is one of the best episodes

This is what Star Trek is meant to be. The interaction between Stewart and Goldberg is dynamic. It feels like a culmination on their relationship. It's also a pleasant welcome back for LT Yar. It presents a well-told story of mystery, friendship, loyalty and duty.

Easily a 9 if not for the plot twist
10 November 2018
This movie started out to possibly be the best of the trilogy. The flashbacks, Guy Pearce, Ben Kingsley all made this movie something to watch. It showcases the human side and vulnerability of Stark. However, the ridiculous plot twist in the middle of the movie turns the whole movie into a comedy. Still better than Iron Man 2 though.

Cowboys vs Aliens

There's absolutely no explanation for what's happening in this episode. The previous episode had Archer traveling into the future. Now, this episode was seemingly in the wild West. It has made me almost give up watching the rest of the series.

Good premise but...

I loved the way the entire episode was leading, but the ending was disappointing to say the least. I suppose it was a nice showcase of Hoshi's character. It just seems the writers got lazy and hurriedly ended the episode.

"I freaking love Mondays!"

If you're looking for an Oscar winner, this isn't the movie for you. Just take it for what it is, a cheesy mindless action flick. The dialogue is cheesy, acting is bad and the plot superficial.

Good Potential, Just Hasn't Quite Got There Yet

Lost was probably my favorite series of all-time. The mystery surrounding the storyline is certainly intriguing for sure. However, the characters are a little uninteresting so far. Also, the writing is pretty subpar too. I can only hope it starts picking up from here.

The Nun (2018)

You Don't Want None of the Nun
15 September 2018
First, let me begin by saying how much of a fan I was for the Conjuring. I believe that movie may have been one of the scariest movies I've ever seen. The Nun, of course, being a sort of prequel to the Conjuring. Before I get to the horrific nature that was this movie. There is an interesting trivia fact some may not know about the main actress in the Nun. She is the daughter of the woman who played in the Conjuring. She played a younger version of that character in the Nun.

I honestly don't know how to start describing how truly awful this movie was, however. First of all, the actual character of the Nun was about as scary as the Easter Bunny. They make her look and act so much scarier in the trailers than what she was like in the movie. The storyline really goes nowhere. Farmiga does her best, but only comes off looking like a deer in headlights for most of the movie. The set design was way too over the top.

It was like they were trying to hard to make it scary, but it just came off comical. I actually found myself dozing off a few times during the movie. I am a huge movie buff and sleeping during a movie is not something I ever do. Believe me, I was being nice giving it a 3/10.

Have you ever had a dream where you're trying to get somewhere and can't? That's the storyline/direction of this movie. There is so much going, mostly going unexplained. Bardem and Lawrence's characters are so incompetent and inept. Frankly, a genre this director shouldn't be doing.

Great movie with non-stop action. I really loved Eckhart as the president. It made me proud to be an American. It's the greatest country in the world.

Warning: Spoilers
To me, this has the feel of old school James Bond. It goes back to the days of Connery, full of class and style. By far, one of Craig's best. If amongst his brooding demeanor, he brings a certain vulnerability to the role. It also brings a classy ending to a lifelong movie history relationship.

Some Movies Deserve a Second Look. Dunkirk Does Not!
31 July 2018
As a huge Nolan fan, I was stoked to see this the first time in theaters. From the very beginning, this film is a confused and jumbled mess. Even with a miniscule synopsis on screen at the start, I had no clue what was happening, who these men were or where they were trying to go. There was also no particular character development. Tom Hardy was completely underutilized in the film. I just tried watching it again on television. However, nothing had changed. Nolan has so many great movies, so just skip this one.

Not only is the cinematography great with outstanding special effects, but the story gets more suspenseful than all the other movies combined.

Retreat Hell!

This movie is much better than everyone says. Aaron Eckhart really embraces his role as a worn out staff sergeant in the Marines. I don't think anyone should have imagined this would be best picture of the year. It is like someone already wrote "Blackhawk Down with aliens."

The Lord of Thunder!
3 November 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Forget the naysayers and go see this film. To me, it was a combination of Guardians of the Galaxy, The Hunger Games and Tron. Is there a deep and meaningful plot that connects this film with the rest of the Marvel movies? No, not really. It is just fun, funny and action packed. The soundtrack is pretty epic. Also, don't forget to stay for the credits. I have to say that this was a great kickoff to the holiday movie season.

DC's Best-Wonder Woman
6 September 2017
I, first, cannot begin to imagine why so many negative reviews are out there for this film. I am, usually, a total Marvel fan. However, this movie has started to change my mind in the wake of the other awful films DC has tried. I think they could not have picked a better person and actress to portray this role than Gal Gadot. She can be such a positive role model. The fight scenes are incredible and so are her moves. I disagree, also, that there was no character development shown in the movie. What about the whole beginning of the movie on the island, showing her as a girl growing into a great Amazon warrior? One slight downside was the portrayal of the villain. He was a bit underwhelming, in my opinion.
