Madam Secretary (2014)
Really good political drama to start with; going down the wrong street now.
This has been a really great political drama for first couple of seasons.
The acting and the story telling has been top notch. The suspense and the pay off both has been satisfactory till season 4.
But with everything in the Hollywood this is also started leaning towards far left.
The charm of an apolitical drama on the TV has been missing for last 2 meeting
Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019)
Even after 24 hours i am still speachless!!!
After a bunch of non-sense movies i have made a rule for myslef to never spend a dime again on any Bollywood movie in theater. Don't take me wrong i do like hindi movies like Stree, Andhadhoon last year but i sitll think those can be watched on small screen at the comfort of my home. The lack of grandure and complelling cinematography in Indian movies just does not warrent a theatrical experience.
But for URI i made an exception and boy was i so happy to be wrong. From start to finish this took me on ride of all kinds of emotion. One moment i was angry and the other moment i was crying and the very next moment i just terified. Man its a been a long time since a movie actully made me cry, but when the little girl screamed the war cry in front of her father's photo; tears started to roll down from my eyes.
From start to finish this kept me glued to the screen and invested in Vickey's character. The direction and acting is so daam good, i forgot i was watching a bollywood movie. The VFX team of Thugs of Hindustan should be interning at these guys' company. Mark my words both Vicky and Aditya (director) are going to be very very big names in comming years. This is how you tell a story and keep your audiance wanting for more.
The only thing that kind of creeped me out is the DRDO-Drone section of the movie. I just dont see the point of inlsuing the indiginous drone story lines to the movie. The VFX for the GARUD drones are also subpar compared the rest of the movie (but still miles ahead of any other indian movies).
Please please please go and watch the movie in theater !!!!!!!
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)
Overemphasis on making a Dark super hero movie backfires for DC
What a waste of such great talents.
The entire movie is so damn boring and overly stretched. I don't understand why the hell DC is trying so had to be this DARK in the movie. We get it, you guys want to make a serious movie. But hell don't try to make a movie dark for the sake of it. Neither the story nor the set up is gloomy. In my opinion the desperate attempt to convert to show this super hero movie like an post apocalyptic world has done all the worst of it. The savior of such an snooze fest of a movie is Jesse Eisenberg and as usual Ben Affleck. Both of the guys have shown some serious acting skills. Also the visual effects are more than decent.
The movie is not so bad; however it definitely failed to live up to the hype. But in this age only handful of movies does.
