Renegades (2022)
Laughable
It's so bad that even after removing my eyeballs it didn't improve.
I digress.
Bad acting, pathetic special effects, sound out of sync in places, a truly bizarre cast.
None of them seemed to want to be there and in terms of budget I can only imagine they got paid around £1.50 each and that's not hourly.
But the thing I found most distracting was JNS mouth! What is going on? It's so inflated I can only imagine that's where the rest of the budget went.
So in a nutshell, if you have anything better to do such as cutting toenails or dealing with split ends then do it because you won't get those minutes back.
Succession (2018)
OH MY DAYS!
Slick, gripping, ruthless! I am absolutely hooked. Fantastic cast and an intriguing storyline. You will either love or loath the characters. GIVE ME MORE!!!
Lovecraft Country: Whitey's on the Moon (2020)
I don't have a clue....
Not too sure whats going on but I'm going to stick with it for a bit longer.
Sonic the Hedgehog (2020)
Enjoyable
Ok, so it's not my normal cup of tea, however I took my son this week and have to say I enjoyed it! Fast paced, full of wise cracks, and all the kids in the cinema were laughing out loud.
The Book of Life (2014)
Beautiful animation
I was absolutely blown away but the colours, animation and pure brilliance of this production. Give it a whirl.
Carry on Camping (1969)
Starts off great but....
This is actually one of my least favourites. It starts off great however it just seems to lose the plot towards the end. The hippies arriving in the neighbouring field and the girls running off just seems a desperate way to close the film. Joan Sims is great as usual and there is a good turn from Peter Butterworth who isn't used enough in my opinion. Kenneth and Hattie again are great. Still worth a watch if you haven't.
Total Recall (2012)
Watch the classic instead
For a brief moment I think Kate Beckinsdale believed she was in the terminator. She just kept getting back up. Seriously If I had taken that kind of beating I'd be in traction for a month.
In the end I was so bored with her relentless pursuit I just wanted her to die. Mr Farrell looked like he'd lost the will to live after about ten minutes.
On the plus side great CGI.
But give it a swerve and treat yourself to the somewhat bonkers original.
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003)
Enjoyable
I don't really understand why this didn't do so well, I really enjoyed it. The selection of diverse characters, the fast pace. OK so it wouldn't have won Oscars but to sit in on a Saturday night and enjoy it with my son! Well what's not to like.
Les Misérables (2018)
Very good
Really enjoying the series (watching on catchup) fab sets, costumes and performances, especially Lilly. The only down side for me is that I can't feel any empathy for Dominic West's Jean Valjean. Maybe he will grow on me.....
