Clowns in the Woods (2021)
Better than Morbius
Kept me entertained in one way or another. Story wasn't bad, acting was ok with funny parts (intentional and unintentinal). Pretty good considering it's a no budget movie. I would recommend it if you enjoy extremely low budget movies.
Mystery Team (2009)
FANTASTIC
I love this movie, only just now saw it. Not sure how I missed it. I've seen movies/shows similar to this but this one manages to not be tempted by crudeness. The main characters hang on to their innocence and heart even while their surroundings are anything but. Donald Glover shines and it's so funny every time he shows up in a new costume. The costumes he wears are done so well, the hobo has to be the best. So much hilarious detail in the small things. It's great how each member of the team has their own strength which is very questionable but it still works. Not everyone will love it but I sure did.
Blame (2021)
Dont tell me where you put them
When they all put the phones in the bag, don't tell him where you put the bag.
-1 star for slightly unconvincing acting when they run into road trouble.
Mother/Android (2021)
This movie makes me angry
This movie moves so slowly. And it's so boring. They act like it's androids turning on their makers. But it's really about a couple arguing and dealing with being pregnant and having a baby in the woods. I was waiting for it to get better and it never did. I couldn't believe how slowly the movie was progressing in the last 10-15 minutes. So much music and no dialogue. Only watched it because I saw an article that said people were flipping out over the ending, someone must have paid for that article to be written. This movie is trying to be artsy I guess. I literally couldn't believe they thought this would be entertaining. The characters weren't even likable. And the boyfriend kicks some guys ass and they get kicked out of a camp. How does he do that? WHO KNOWS! HAPPENS OFF SCREEN! Is he a great fighter? No clue, I guess. Filmmakers skip all the would be interesting things and we just get the pregnant gf and bf running around for 2 hours doing very little.
Avoid this movie unless it's nap time!
The Very Excellent Mr. Dundee (2020)
Started off good
Started off good and then went slightly downhill about halfway through the movie. Got a little too farfetched during an action scene near the middle of the film. Then there were a couple cameos that felt a little cringy because they would only mention the actor but they obviously weren't there. Or perhaps just showing clips of them talking about something else. Overall, I'd say it's worth watching if you know who Paul Hogan is and are familiar with Crocodile Dundee.
Slashlorette Party (2020)
Low Budget Fun
Not a bad movie considering the budget. You can tell it's low budget but it's an entertaining one for the most part. I watched it all the way through. Acting is hit or miss but not really distracting.
Stirring (2018)
Better than I Expected
Usually I will skip the low budget movies but this one was actually pretty good. No doubt there's the usual low budget things going on throughout. It was entertaining though (intentionally & unintentionally) and cast was good enough to keep me interested. I liked the main character girl. Or maybe I'm just a sucker for Christmas Horror.
Tales from the Hood 2 (2018)
Better than expected but not great
I didn't know this movie was coming out but I just saw it and thought it was pretty good. The stories directed by Rusty Canieff stand out as being more engaging. The 2 stories directed by Darin Scott seem to drag a little. Keith David is great as the "funeral home director". A lot of the politics/messages in the movie were a little heavy handed and the villains in the movie are a little too over the top to be accepted as true (mainly the political ones). There was some black history thrown in I was unaware of (big focal point of the last story), so I found that interesting.
The Many Strange Stories of Triangle Woman (2008)
Horrible writing! Subpar acting. Catchy music.
When I first heard about this movie I was very intrigued. I've always been a fan of short stories and when I saw this movie had 10 stories I knew it was something I wanted to watch.
Unfortunately this movie is very bad. The whole idea of this movie seems to be based on those "what the heck did i just watch?" random moments. Women wearing mustaches? Someone dies and then just gets up(comes back to life?) to finish the story by have a sing-a-long? And I'm really giving the movie a lot of credit by calling them stories. They were really nothing more than people interacting randomly. I'm not sure if the whole thing was just a loosely based idea and they just thought of things they could do in the movie as they were filming it. The whole thing played out like a 90 minute skittles commercial.
I was really disappointed with this movie but not only because I thought it was bad, but because they seemed to have the tools to create a pretty decent movie. There were plenty of locations where they filmed at, the music was dare I say catchy and the acting wasn't great but could be overlooked with decent writing. The point is, don't bother watching this movie. Or if you do, the first couple stories are the best so if you don't like those, don't bother sticking it out, it gets worse.
