Nah.......Just Nah.

2 out of 10 was a very generous rating from me. Only gave it a 2 because of a couple of half decent performances & a couple of creepy looking scenes that almost worked. Almost. This film may not be bad enough to give you a migraine but it WILL give you a mild headache. The plot & narrative are a mess, you'll be left wondering what's going on, who's doing what & why they just did it. I like this kind of film if it's done well. This wasn't. The 10/10 reviews on here have got to be from vested interests, I can only hope in my small way, I'm doing something to balance the overall score. Muff Cabbage.

The Orville (2017–2022)

Forget about STD, it's all about The Orville

I've been looking forward to this show, I wasn't disappointed! The Media has given the orville a critical hammering (totally unjustified IMO)It's a lot of fun! Sit back, relax & leave your brain at home - It's basically Star Trek with Seth Macfarlane's trademark puerile, sick humour! Enjoy it! The crew of the enterprise (sorry, orville!) get to tell penis jokes, what's not to like?

This movie is so bad it will give you a migraine......

I feel sorry for the actors, they are not to blame for this film turning out to be putrid garbage. To be honest they all turned in a pretty decent performance. The story, while being very derivative of other films in this genre, isn't really to blame either. There were some good ideas for a few scares, a scene where recording equipment was picking up footsteps that the characters couldn't hear could have been very creepy - IF our protagonists hadn't been too busy screaming abuse at each other. BADLY directed, BADLY produced, BADLY edited, BAD screenplay. The actors deserved to be in a better film, THIS could have been a better film with a little more thought & effort. If you have 80 minutes to spare, it would be better to watch dog vomit dry on the pavement than waste any time on this.

Evidence (III) (2012)

One of the better "found footage" style movies
10 August 2013
I've read a lot of negative comments & seen this movie rated quite poorly, I have to totally disagree. Most importantly, you MUST be a fan of found footage movies to enjoy this film, if you're not - forget it & go watch something else! Yes, at first it comes across as a little derivative of Blair witch, but there is far more to this movie than that. It starts quite slowly, building up that unsettling & creepy feeling that something isn't quite right with the camping trip. The character behind the camera comes across as manipulative and uncaring, a borderline sociopath. As his world starts to unravel, so does his mind and he becomes a real danger to his companions. Part way through, all hell breaks loose, the action ramps up and the campers are plunged into a living hell. The Actors all play their parts well & are believable. The plot is well thought out with unexpected twists and some great shocks & scares. Most importantly for me, this movie does NOT treat you like an idiot, you are left to work out a lot of what is going on yourself. Plenty of times you'll be asking yourself "WTF just happened?" and that's a GOOD thing! I hate it when directors feel they have to explain every little thing to you, like you're stupid! In short, it's Blair Witch meets Chernobyl Diaries, with plenty of genre originality in there too. If you liked either of those movies, you'll like this - I have no hesitation giving it 7 stars.
