Curious George (2006)

Amazing

My eight-year-old son said to me on the way out "Mom, that was the best movie I've ever seen".

Myself? I had my jaw dropped, tears in my eyes, and my spirits were soaring.

Finally - a movie you can take your kids to see with no "adult humor" that may or may not fly over your kids' heads. No farting or potty humor. A TRUE children's movie that does beautiful justice to the beloved books.

Outstanding traditional animation. Loved all the primary colors! Great soundtrack - just went out and bought it today. I am taking my kids to see this one in the theater again (a first for me), and we can't wait for it to come out on DVD.

Thanks Ron Howard - you have a winner here.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005)

Emotional

Please do not confuse reviews from people who haven't read the book with ones from people who have.

Those who have read the book are more emotionally attached. I cried several times through this movie - MUCH improved on the late 80's version. Powerful, emotional, TRUE to the book except for a few stray bits.

I was thoroughly impressed. The visions I saw on the screen were very similar to those in my head as I was reading the book. The use of colors was wonderful, and the battle scenes were outstanding. I thought the CGI effects with the animals was very believable.

Thank you for giving me a chance to see this movie.

Chicken Little (2005)

My kids are still talking about it...

I took my 7 and 9 year old sons to see this movie on Saturday. The theater was packed, this was obviously a popular movie on it's opening weekend. To be honest, we LOVED this movie. The visuals were stunning, the jokes were funny, the soundtrack was amazing, and the plot was great...with a great message throughout the movie. This is a movie you don't have to be scared to take your kids to, there are no underlying "sexual" references. It is a good, clean, Disney movie. We can't wait to see it again, and I might just fork over the money to see it in the theater again! We will definitely be buying this one on DVD. Please don't listen to the critics! I don't know which movie they were watching (shame on you Ebert and Roeper!), but this movie had my kids and myself busting out laughing and crying. A true winner! Two thumbs up!
