Earlier seasons are king....

Fantastic show from the minds behind The League of Gentlmen...for the most part.

The first few seasons are fantastic with some real standout episodes. However from season 3/4 onwards I feel this series has run out of steam.

There seems to be more dud episodes than good ones, and it loses its weird/dark comedy edge for just plain bland.

The latesr couple of seasons feel very 'phoned in', almost as if they are contractually obligated to produce them and aren't really bothered.

Not a patch on robot wars.

I'll keep this very short and sweet: 85% waffling, 15% actual bot fights. I find myself skipping chunks of the programme to see anything worth watching.

A bit...meh

Warning: Spoilers
I liked the cinematography and style of shooting, and thought the actors did a good job with what they were given. But man did it drag.

There is a hell of a lot of talking and not much happening in every episode, with quick bursts of interesting action. To echo other reviewers, I have to say I found the series incredibly boring for the most part and something of a chore to sit through. It was around episode 4 that I almost didn't bother continuing, but forced myself to keep watching in the hopes of it improving.

The last episode I found myself skipping forward just to get to the ending. The first 10mins and the last 10mins of this season are probably its strongest points. Everything else in the middle was downright boring.

The CGI was alright, perfectly passable but aren't going to win any awards put it that way. Except for the couples CGI baby, which looked incredibly weird in every scene it was in.

The Movies That Made Us (2019–2021)

Interesting watch almost ruined by the narration
20 October 2021
If they could air this without the narration and rapid jumping between actually interesting interviews and unfunny animations this would be perfectly watchable.

The narration pretty much ruins the program, the wife and I found each episode an absolute slog to get through.

Utter drivel....

Absolutely dreadful excuse for a film, don't bother wasting your time. Numerous inconsistencies, plot holes and about as much acting talent amongst the stars as a knats fart.

Dreadful...

Compared to the first one this was just unbearable. How Julian Dennison continues to get work is beyond me, I've seen better acting in my kids nativity play.

Please... stop
28 November 2020
For the love of God please stop making these films. The first was good, the 2nd was watchable, this is just plain awful. Flash mob after god awful flash mob. There's no rhyme or reason to anything, any sense of realism goes out the window.

Possibly the most unlikeable protagonists ever...

Eve makes mind boggling decisions and is a flat-out liar, manipulative and probably borderline psychotic.

Murder Party (2007)

Well, the last 25 mins were good....
26 April 2019
Starts off interesting, the middle chunk was just boring quite frankly. The party starts 25odd minutes from the end, by which point I'd lost interest amlnd just wanted to see it through.

Dear oh dear...

Warning: Spoilers
I don't normally submit reviews for films, but as a huge George Romero fan I felt compelled to do so.

Let me start with one of the few positives, the gore was on point. However, this explosion of blood when someone gets bitten is just ridiculous. I like the Bub inspired idea of a zombie displaying some intelligence, but there was no explanation whatsoever of why his blood prevented him turning completly, it was just "its gotta be something in his blood"... Aaaaaaand a vaccine is made.

The acting is just...terrible, incredibly forced and not at all believable, you would almost think the Director was holding cue cards up for the actors to read as they delivered their lines. Wooden is an understatement.

I appreciated several nods to the (vastly superior) original, but the ending and choices made by characters were just so ridiculous it dragged down the entire film. The heroine just showed complete disregard for the entire camp of people she effectively sacrificed in her hunt for a preventative to stop someone turning into a zombie from a bite, NOT a cure as it was continously stated. Which was all well and good, but the ending played out like she'd saved the entire world, some serious hurdles are overlooked: when zombies bite anyway, it's not just a bite and onto the next, they rip the victims to bits, not to mention the vaccine is confined to a cut off base, that was 30 seconds prior to the ending scene completly overrun, how does she plan to not only find survivors and distribute? If I'm honest, I wouldn't waste your time with this one, watch the original instead, which to put mildly, is a classic.
