Plane (2023)
Surprisingly Excellent Action Flick.
I don't find pure action flicks interesting anymore. Something has to invest me in the character's plight. This movie and, moreover, Girard Butler's performance totally achieve that. You have no problem believing how handy he is, and how dedicated he is to the safety of his passengers. Colter too, delivered a totally credible performance and you soon see how the two can become allies. The Ties to home are somewhat glossed over, and they could have developed Michael Filter's character a whole lot more to flesh out the story completely. I feel like his character background could have made a great flashback or side story, but it was largely just implied. I will watch this again.
Alex Borstein: Corsets & Clown Suits (2023)
I Love This Firecracker's Brand of Humor!
She made me laugh, and cackle a few times, and generally smile widely through the whole show. Not your typical stand-up, Alex through some great curve balls...like having her parents Judy and Irving, come to a show where she sings about Mushtats. If you like her in Mrs Maisel, and Family Guy uncensored, you'll love this show even more, I kid you knot!
It's hard to tell if, when she sings, if that is her real singing voice, or if she is imitating a singer. The point sized pistol is so good at mimicry it's hard to tell when you actually here the real voice she uses for every day speech.
As for the reviewers who pretend not to enjoy this style of ha ha, why would you bother watching. You must already know her style given everything else she's done. Oh well, haters and trolls gotta hate and troll.
Tulsa King (2022)
Best Stallone Acting I've Ever Seen
This is by far the best performance by my man Sly, that I've ever seen. He has me cheering him on every episode, just like he did in the original Rocky. The directors and writers have given him the perfect material. It totally brings out so many sides to Dwight, and Stallone has his co-stars and his audience eating out of the palm of his hand.
I feel totally invested in his character, and was completely blown away at how he was able to show Dwight's softer side. Who thought they would ever see Sylvester Stallone moved to tears onscreen, in a scene that had me choking up? Kudos to the entire production!
Now I have to get back to watching the last two episodes of season one, and already can't wait for season two.
Keep Breathing (2022)
If you like survival flicks, this one is pretty good.
It is by no means a thriller, but for those of us who enjoy survival stories, this one is pretty good. Also for those of us from British Columbia, the wilderness will make you homesick. The flashbacks tell her backstory, and can bore you because it's the weakest part of this tale. Her back story needed to be more interesting and complicated.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021)
Pure Corndog Silliness.
This was nowhere near as good as the first one. Way too much time was spent trying to be funny, and it just came out over-the-top corny. There was not enough time spent developing the conflicted relationship between Woody and Tom's characters.

A Raw, Captivating Nailbiter!
A Raw, Captivating Nailbiter! I couldn't take my eyes off the screen. I loved learning from a cockpit view what goes into flying one of these aircraft.
Lincoln Rhyme: Hunt for the Bone Collector (2020)
Really Good First Episode. I'll watch it again.
There is enough tension to keep me watching. If the first episode is any indication it will be a good series. Having Michael Imperioli in the series gives it lots of credibility and like-ability. As long as it doesn't go the sickening route of Criminal Minds, it should shape up really well.
El Camino Christmas (2017)
Too Diverse and Interesting to be Labeled in Just One Genre
And definitely not a western! This is a great story told by great actors and a director who paced the story just at the right tempo. Thought provoking in some parts, brutally honest in others and brilliantly hilarious in yet other parts as well! See this movie and realize how this story could happen in real life in today's day and age.And Tim Allen's performance blew me away.
Carol's Second Act (2019)
TWO HITS AND A WHIFF FOR PATTY!
Every line and joke is forced and there just isn't enough character in these characters. The scripts are all over the place and the laugh track is over done big time. 1 slight chuckle per episode isn't enough to keep me watching.
Shooter (2007)
Mark Wahlberg gives an action packed tour de force. One of his best performances to date!
As an ex soldier who worked in Recce (Recon in Americanese) Mark Wahlberg gives a very credible performance as an ex "high speed - low drag" sniper. Of course it's all Hollywood style action, but sneak and peak is only exciting for the participants in real life. It's just not a spectator sport. I find myself watching this one every few years and it still holds my attention.
Pearson (2019)
Luke Warm At Best
I keep waiting for this spin-off to get better, and it just doesn't. The characters are stereotypes the plots and sub-plots are predictable, and there is nothing that drives me to anticipation of the next episode. I do hope it gets better, maybe my hopes were too high. I think Jessica could have so much interesting backstory, especially how she rose to the top in the first place and how she could do whatever it takes to do it again. She needs to uncover more dead 💀 bodies, and let us see some more skeletons in her closet.
Paint Your Wagon (1969)

A DEPARTURE FROM HER USUAL STUFF, AND STILL FUNNY
A DEPARTURE FROM HER USUAL STUFF, AND STILL FUNNY.
Jawbone (2017)
VERY ON POINT STORY
To those who know the struggle, the story of this fight is as plain as a boxing glove smacking the nose on your face. It is most definitely not a boxing story, but boxing is a main character.
Abby's (2019)
Good Start. It Could Be A Good Show
Too soon to tell but the first episode gave me a few laughs. I'll watch the next one.
River Runs Red (2018)
Good story poorly told
They lumped good actors with really bad ones. Poor editing and story flow. But the story itself is a good one.
Ray Donovan (2013)
I Won't Miss a Single Episode !
This series gets a 10 from me because it's the only series that I absolutely will not miss an episode of. Anti hero Ray goes through life like so many of us, thinking he does what he does for his family. But his dedication to his work -as well as his code of ethics-only causes everyone who loves him to eventually leave him alone. Character driven drama with enough humour and violence to whet my whistle every week.
The Rookie (2018)
The Absolute Best First Episode of a Series, Ever!
Usually a good series takes awhile to get its footing at first. This one was engaging, surprising and highly entertaining right out of the gate. I can't wait for the next episode.
Black Panther (2018)
Had to fight to stay Awake
Very little awesome action, Very very, Little connection between characters, very, very very, little humour, and V....no surprises at all. I didn't walk out, but it was close.
Ferdinand (2017)
All the Elements of A Timeless Classic!
Watch this movie with your grandkids. One day, they too will watch it again, with theirs.
Kong: Skull Island (2017)
Great entertainment, not a love story.
This was a good movie and totally re-watchable. Think "Kong meets Jurassic Park". One of the endearing qualities of the old King Kong movies is in the relationship that develops between Kong and the damsel. This is touched on but not explored enough in this version. Same goes for most of the characters. There are some really great sub plots that could be developed for Goodman, Jackson, and Hiddleston but the story never quite goes far enough there. Action and graphics for there own sake just don't do it for me. John C Reilly played an awesome part and had me chuckling throughout.
