Bill Burr Presents: Friends Who Kill (2022)
Exceptionally Poor Netflix Version of Live at the Apollo
The title says it all. Bill Burr,/Jimmy Carr - both hooks to get US/UK watching.
Both should be ashamed of themselves.
I have nothing else to say but am required to hit 150 characters.
Rhino (2021)
Not Fair to compete with Roxanne
It's Cyrano de Bergerac modernised!
It's not a classic- not got the experience or quality actors or writers of Roxanne. But it is a great effort! An enjoyable 90 minutes or so for me.
M*A*S*H: War Co-Respondent (1980)
A simple study of a MAN's fidelity
This is an excellent episode where BJ has to face his ultimate fear - cheating on Peg.
He has already failed this test once before - as mentioned by Hawkeye when they finally communicate about Aggie and their feelings for her. Mike Farrell wrote and directed this and so is clearly aware of the conflict in BJ.
Hawkeye always goes for the clown approach with a strong woman before - Inga - and fallen for her. He did not expect a challenge from BJ - even though it was not BJ's intention.
Neither woman's long term motives are explored just the short term pleasure of a relationship with a desirable male. This was in 1980 not 2020 - Mr Farrell was way before his time - the MAN was not out for what he could get and happy with what he had - great episode.
Absolutely Anything (2015)
Unexpected Saturday Night Delight
I had spent the usual 20 minutes skimming Amazon Prime - an old fashioned videoshop without the sweets at the till - for films and saw a comedy in one of its lowest categories with Simon Pegg's face on it.
No idea what to expect but the rest of the main cast looked. They wouldn't sign up for crap would they? Appaently not.
A little treasure of a film. Not brilliant. Not great. Just very good. Highly entertaining - some bits predictable, but aren't all films like that?
Well acted. No joke overplayed. If I could do anything I would worry about the little stuff too.
Hope this gets a wider audience - it deserves it.
Car Share: The Unscripted Special (2018)
Enjoyed it but a question.
Why is the rear window dirty all the way through? You can see the wipers are used. All the other windows are clear though! No blemish!
