The White Lotus: Abductions (2022)
Aubrey Plaza delivers a master class
It might come off a bit disingenuous to suggest that, more than a decade into her career, this is Aubrey Plaza's breakout role, but it is the absolute truth. The acting that she achieves in this series in phenomenal, but this episode truly leaves you breathless. You can't take your eyes away from her whenever she is on screen. I feel in many ways Aubrey Plaza has been the industry's pariah, a shadowed caricature defined by her roles, not by her talent. If you take nothing else from this episode, I hope that you at least appreciate how absolutely masterful Aubrey is in evoking the most gut wrenching sincerity in her most nuanced performance to date. She may be a comedic genius, but drama is where she soars.
Abbott Elementary: Candy Zombies (2022)
Very cute
Probably the most clever and effective writing of the series so far. Certainly my favorite comedic scenarios of the series. The main players are top notch as always, but the guest stars in this episode particularly shine. The series is still finding new and inventive way to keep reinventing itself and keeping itself fresh. It never feels stale and it never feels like filler. My favorite comedy series since Schitt's Creek ended.
Sheryl Lee Ralph continues to be the series heart and comedic center. Her scenes are a breath of fresh air. Janelle James, perhaps the least consistent player in the past, has really stepped up her game this season.
Stranger Things: Chapter Four: Dear Billy (2022)
Sadie Sink stuns
Absolute world class performance from Sadie Sink. This episode builds emotions masterfully and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Favorite episode of the series to date. I'm not sure how they will be able to top this.
Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
Absolutely incredible
You have to see it to believe it. A movie of indescribable and incomprehensible brilliance in all the best possible ways. Stephanie Hsu and Michelle Yeoh give the performances of their career.
Sex Education: Episode 8 (2020)
Dang y'all are some bitter people.
This was a wonderful episode. Everyone giving it a bad review is just bitter that it didn't end the way they wanted it to. It wouldn't have fit the story that they set up to make Maeve just go right back to liking Otis again after what he did to her...
Unbelievable (2019)
Stunning. Mesmerizing. Poignant. A Must-Watch!
Incredibly acted, amazingly crafted, and overwhelmingly sincere. One of the best new series this year. Watched it all in one sitting, and you will be inclined to the same. Kaitlyn Dever's breakthrough performance which will resonate throughout the rest of her career (a complete transformation from the utterly dry Last Man Standing). Merritt Wever is in her element, and Toni Collette shines. A true tour de force of acting, writing, and directing that you won't want to miss!
The I-Land (2019)
Actually watch the series
Before formulating an opinion. Don't be like 90% of the people here who are rating the series before they even watch all of it. It's interesting sci-fi if you watch more than just 2 episodes and decide you know what the whole season will be.
The Handmaid's Tale: Liars (2019)
Absolutely breathtaking!!
I was on the edge of my seat with bated breath the entire episode. Whatever you expect to happen after the last episode, it definitely is not this... Best episode of the series by far.
Orange Is the New Black: The Hidey Hole (2019)
Yael Stone Shines...
Yael Stone gives the performance of her career. Watch this episode at the very least to see her shine.
Us (2019)
I think this film might have gone over your head...
If you gave it anything other than a 10. I guess complex horror doesn't sit well with some people, and they just want mindless scares. Everything makes perfect sense if you paid attention to the clues throughout the entire movie. Go see for yourself and don't let the nonsense reviews deter you from this amazing experience...
Supernatural: Wayward Sisters (2018)
A Series I Want to Watch
This backdoor pilot far exceeded my expectations and I could not be happier. Sticking true to the heart of the series, but offering new territory to fuel this spinoff into it's own first season with a new breed of monsters to fight and a new mythology to follow. This is the proper spinoff SPN fans have been waiting and asking for for YEARS, and it was worth it. I hope the network picks this up to series. I will watch it and love every minute of it!
