Night of the Living Dead (1968)
Color version
i recently found this title has been re-released as a halloween version, marketed by a company called "Hard Gore" they've released a few titles this halloween & they only cost £1 in the uk, main reason i mention this is the fact that the DVD contains the original B/W cut and a colour version (but the colour version is not the newer remake, its the original, but in colour) i was also surprised to see that it literally is colour. It doesn't look like its been converted, like some b/w to colour movies do, poundland & Woolworth's have been stocking it in the uk, try walmart for USA buyers or buy online, its good to finally see the original in colour :D
Plane Dead (2007)
Great movie for zombie fans & unique concept & location
be warned of spoilers here, I'm giving the plot away & what a plot it was :D
we have 3 doctors (kasuf from Sg1, Darian Lambert from TimeTrax) and some other dude. Now in the 1st EVER zombie movie to give you the WHOLE plot from start to end, its very impressive for a fairly low budget movie
a doctors wife is dying, and his government research happens to involve re-animation of tissue, soldiers who will keep on killing after their killed are a handy asset, when the government pull funding & try to shut down the experiment the Dr's wife is frozen (before she can turn) so shes infected... but alive.... the government is moving in so they run, taking their work on-board a plane, a plane which is heading for a storm
trust me on this, This is what Zombie fans have been waiting for but ber in mind, the in-flight meal on this flight.. is the passengers 10/10, even the effects were great
when I watched this movie it was called "PlaneDead" but it starred all the same cast :)
Category 7: The End of the World (2005)
Consider this movie a lesson to all who share this planet
For years movie studios have pushed out variations of blockbuster movies, For example, "Twister" hit the big screen and "Night of the Twisters" hit the family channel and "Tornado" hit (can't remember which channel) but I have to say that BOTH the cheaper produced movies far outweighed the so called block buster that was twister.
As seen with the 3 war of the worlds movies released in the same year as each other, I feel the asylum productions release was a far better variation than the Spielberg release. It's the same as "Asteroids" far outweighed "Armageddon" and "deep impact" as well.
It seams cheaper cast and cheaper budget provides for more "story" rather than fx, Which is generally a good start, less cgi and more plot, gets the point across, You can sell a movie with a few pretty faces and pack it with fx But it'll always lack a good plot.
Category 7, was as good as Category 6 And their BOTH a Wake up call for are small insignificant little world Which where destroying slowly but surly. Well worth a watch, if you wish to see how the world's weather will evolve
Which it already is : /
Looking at previous comments I can but wonder about the future of our fair planet, I'm far from a Greenpeace or recycling fanatic But I can see how the worlds changing (very fast to) It's a shame others are blind to the environmental changes around us, From "The day After Tomorrow" and "Category 7" And everything on the current weather & news channels I can but wonder if the world is just blind or has gone insane.
People don't worry about floods nor what comes with it, Australia is feared for spiders, but as the world heats up
. They'll survive in your country, meaning boxes of fruit clearing customs will have a surprise inside (that's still alive due to the climate) and when the floods & heat come, piranha can swim pretty far, and will be able to live in such a climate, as for sharks : / lol when the ice caps melt (which they are) you'd be surprised what they'll bring. If these types of movies are not a wake up call, I don't no what is : /
This movie isn't great but it does show you something, And it clearly makes its point, those who don't see it, need a wake up call....
Airwolf (1984)
great variation on the pilot show
Airwolf The Movie, A variation on the original 2 part pilot, Yet the movie although shorter, does contain extra footage Unseen in the 2 hour pilot The pilot is much more of a pilot than the movie Where as a pilot movie is normally the same (2 parter combined) But the movie is actually a different edit with extras here and cuts there.
Worth a look, even if you have the season 1 DVD set, I'd still pick up a copy of the "movie" It's still in some shops like virgin, Woolworths and the likes of mixed media stores, although it generally needs ordering, But it saves needing to buy online (as many of us still don't do or trust online shopping) but if you look around airwolfs in stores
Airwolf was truly 1 of the 80's most under rated shows.
A full size Airwolf is currently being re-built for a Helicopter Museum :) Info and work in progress pictures are over at http://Airwolf.org Also with Airwolf Mods for Flashpoint and Flight Sim Games It seams she's finally here to stay :)
War of the Worlds (2005)
really good
well I'm a big fan of war of the worlds between the movie/series/musical/radio broadcast
and i got to give this a thumbs up :) it was an OK movie, i rated it 9 out of 10 for 1 reason only because they called it war of the worlds any other name it deserves a 10 it was definitely different, has you expecting things from the movie and musical then you basically get your eye wiped and proved wrong each time which made it more enjoyable
also on a note about tom cruise when you watch this movie there's a guy shouting when he shouts come on gimi your hand, it does sound like tom cruise, just before he says come on mani or your gona die, in the other movie
just when you think you no whats going to happen (i kept looking for similarities between the musical and the old movie) just as i was expecting it to go a certain way it throws you right off for anyone who wants to see it Finally told a Different way, this is the one to watch, this one is defo worth a watch :) when you watch the other 2 i doubt there's any new plot to surprise the real fans besides the FX (in the other 2 movies) i bet this endeds up liked more by the real fans Remember Twister lol (night of the twisters & Tornado) both better Remember Dantes Peak (volcano and Volcano fire on the mountain) some times the cheeper version is better besides the FX the actors are nobodys and put an effort in, none dependent on Fx Remember Armageddon/Deep Impact/ there's always more than 1 made and its not always the money that makes it better
Jeff Wayne releases a CGI video to his musical in 2007 rock on mr wells :)
