Your Place or Mine (2023)
Awful film
Story line is awful and its so slow and boring I fell asleep on the first attempt to watch. On the second watch I couldn't finish the film.
Actors did their best with what they had but I really can't recommend watching this. It attempted to make you guess the storyline with some very weak relationship build ups, but all it did was let me down.
It has a cheap low budget feel to it and I really do think Netflix were relying on the big budget actors to make this film.
It's a shame because with the line up it should have been a really good evening film for couples, but I wouldn't watch this again if you paid me.
The Menu (2022)
Great start but died off towards the end
It's origal to me as I have not watched a film with this storyline before. It started off very well and kept me guessing what was going to happen to everyone, but the last 30 minutes were just ridiculous and not believable in any way, which left me unable to be consumed by the storyline.
The characters willingness to keep sitting at the tables when people were being murdered is extremely distracting during the whole film. No one fighting for their lives except one.
The ending I suppose was meant to be very clever but instead it was a complete anti climax.
How anyone has voted this higher than a 4 is beyond me.
I Care a Lot (2020)
What a load of trash - 0 out of 10
How this film has a 6.3 score is beyond me, and anyone on here voting higher than 1 has either not watched the film, or must be benifiting from increasing the rating.
The start of the film was very promising, then very quickly fell completely apart and got worse the longer I watched. I have only ever given a 1 out of 10 before and this was being very very kin in this case
I have never watched such a load of rubbish. Save your time and watch some paint dry for an hour or so instead, trust me you will feel more satisfied than if you watched this garbage.
If you don't believe me watch the film then come back and leave your review!
Extraction (2020)
Average Action Film
The film had a good overall plot but lacked in detail. The centre portion of the film was repetitive with scene after scene of close combat fatal gun fights.
Slow to start and even slower to end; I would say I guessed the ending but it also didn't surprise me in the least.
Worth a watch if you can't find anything decent.
The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann (2019)
Good and Bad but mostly good
Started to watch this with an open mind as to what it would be like and very quickly got dragged in to the series.
I have for a long time felt that the whole story had not been told, and unfortunately this series doesn't really help or tell us anything new or sensational; more of a chronological ordering of the already available information.
Some of the interviewed seem more interested in some fame rather than to sincerely help the family, but on the whole it was all very interesting.
I would say some of the story lines were dragged out and Netflix could have told the same story in half the time.
It's an interesting watch but nothing more than a reminder of what a sad story this is, regardless of the truth behind her disappearance.
Hachi: A Dog's Tale (2009)
Not What I Thought
I sat down to watch what I thought would be a 10 out of 10 film after looking at other reviews, but I must say it's one of the most bori g slow moving films I have ever watched.
Sure it's probably loosely based on some true story but that's not enough.
I was close to turning the film off until he died thinking at last we have something happening (other than a man playing with a dog), but no, it was just the dog sitting outside the station.
Big disappointment and family agree so I'm not on my own.
