Scott Caan is always good, but..

Warning: Spoilers
I feel the writing is limiting him. I was also looking forward to this because Jamie Foxx is connected, but its really missing the mark for me.

The plot is solid. I liked the situation with the son, as it provides the clear and strong reason they are doing what they do. Some aspects of the show are great, such as video conferencing with the mom and dad who are divorced, but the whole ex spouses working together, jealousy, loyalty and can we all get along angles are all cliché. Lets do better as this could be better.

Also, can we get passed the whole past lives thing. I love this actress and she is really working it, but it's getting old now. I almost turned the Ben Frankin episode off when, she "conveniently" had a past life as his mistress. I mean come on. I like the quirkiness, but now bored.

Take a look at "Without A Trace" and make some adjustments.

Okay, but I'd rather they revive "Motive"

When I read the plot I thought, oh great this is going to be a fresh look at backing into the reason people do crimes. However, it seems almost disconnected with reality at times and it can be confusing when they do the flashbacks. I feel like I'm watching a tv version of Jacob's Ladder. Such as great cast, but I can't see how this will thrive much longer.

I like the way they show the character connections, but as soon as I feel like I understand them, I'm pulled back forward without getting the full feeling of empathy.

At some point I was just like, let's skip to cureent time frame and see the outcome.

Great story!!

I ran across this movie/documentary by accident, but it was worth the watch. You can tell all of the actors/actresses are not as experienced as others, but the storyline and content make up for the valuable message. The story will be familar to some and eye opening for some, because it focuses on other types of abuse that are not normally discussed- verbal, psychological and the roots of the abuse are shown in different ways than just the obvious ones. There are a few more experienced actors (Tiny Lister, Kym Whitley and K. D. Aubert), but it also shows the talent of some of the less well known and they shine. In particular Erlinda Navarro, Daniel Lujan, and Stephanie Wyatt. I was diappointed that we only saw the full development of a few stories and not all, but they filmmaker did give us the "what happened after" commentary. Hope for more of these. Worth the watch in my opinion. ST.
