MobKing (2023)
I dunno why but
I love watching these guys on camera! I love Italian mobster flicks and this one is right up there with the others! Sure Marty Scorsese and some others top it but it has life in it just as the others do. Budget seems like it was kinda lower but for what it was, it came out nice. I say give it a watch and you'll find it fun! It doesn't involve crazy explosions or planes and tranes but it's a solid drama with fun moments. Definitely worth checking it out! The Cinematography was nice and the characters were interesting. I wonder if they'll explore doing a sequel since the ending seemed to lead somewhere.
Das Privileg (2022)
Budget was there but has way too many problems
I'm a filmmaker so I respect the process and that this film took a while to make but the plot holes and horrible reasons for characters to do things lost me. It became very campy and stupid many times. There were great bits of information given to the protagonists randomly and not in a legit, thought out manner. Basically ideas were thought up but nobody considered the execution or reasoning and wayyyyy to many issues that take you out of the horror that the film was meant to deliver, just really bad execution all around.
Has creepy moments but the fact that kids are allowed to go anywhere and without any parents or security or anyone to stop them is pretty ridiculous.
Nice try though.
La planète sauvage (1973)
Unsure what the triumphant reviews are all about
Very similar to a film school like animation production. Kinda cool concept but I was literally tripping and fell asleep watching not because I was tried. Just didn't blow my mind at all unfortunately. Just trying to save someone else the time. Trippy concepts here but nothing mind blowing.
