That biz partner we all dream of having
9 January 2023
Seriously, vulgarity and bad jokes aside, not only do I enjoy Melissa's comedy style, but I love the storyline! Michelle is the motivational, business idea executioner we all wished we had in our lives. Cutting the crap and going straight to business, telling you what you need to do to move forward in life, AND giving you half the proceeds. I mean where do you find these people!! World is filled with too much talking and not enough doing like this story's main protagonist Michelle! I am jealous!! Someone take me out of my office cubicle please!

The girl power and biatch fights are fun to watch. Chemistry with the ladies "family" is touching. Overall very enjoyable!

Fantastic "art-house" piece & very cute couple
7 January 2023
The low ratings are too harsh. This is BOLLYWOOD style, it's meant to be light and fun. I was even surprised by the sad twist in the storyline which isn't typical Bollywood. Bad acting aside, love the cast, the story, the dances, the portrayal of family in different ethic and socioeconomic background. The heartbreaking blatant racism that darker skin people face, the cultural differences, the prejudice...lots of difficult topics are explored here.

The couple is so cute together... Great casting. It would have been more exciting to watch the story speed up a bit though- the love pursuit was a little dragged.

Wish there were more productions like this. Fantastic job you guys!!! Well done and thank you for adding diversity to local HK film scene!

This IS real, and a global problem: a list of truths
6 September 2022
Great portrayal of a pretty realistic situation. Glad that this tough topic is being brought up. The brilliance is in the end when some women suffered and some enjoyed: the director tried to expose the truth, took a neutral position, and not send any message of blaming who is right or wrong.

What rings the bell and from my knowledge, is real:
  • pageant turned escorts: extremely common in all societies both rich and poor
  • Saudis looking for paid sxx are vicious and hungry, yes, that's definitely true
  • be honest before marriage, don't marry someone you haven't spent enough time with or it might explode in your face
  • don't let anyone tape you having sxx; they must be destroyed even so; that stuff bites anyone back. It's very sad these things tend to hurt women most.

  • don't fall for quick money. 100% of the time the job is a scam or something way beyond your comfort zone (human trafficking is REAL)
  • don't trust anyone who has betrayed you even once.

Too much filler anime & emotional visuals
25 May 2022
Detailed and well organized show. Would be way better if they cut half of the entire documentary and speed up the whole story. All the filler visuals killed the momentum. Would have been interesting to know more about what motivated these criminals.

Well portrayed, slightly funny, screaming cultural appropriation
16 February 2021
This is like a talking version of Mr. Bean but slower and relatively less funny. Why most reviewers think this is high quality comedy is a mystery to me. In 2021 this is screaming cultural appropriation. That said, Sellers has done a terrific job portraying as a Hindu man with an accurate accent and set of vocabulary. Might be impossible to see any white man do the same now and in the future (both out of political correctness and talent). I also agree with other reviewers that this isn't racist or making fun of people from India. That character could be Chinese or African and still do goofy skits and still be comedy. So well done to Sellers, for doing something different in that era of film.

Disrespectful, fake garbage. Waste of time
13 February 2021
The new LOW in crime TV. Doesn't put any effort in talking about Elisa as a person, what her childhood was like etc; but constant repeat from what happened when and after she died, by YouTubers and web sleuths? and a bunch of junk people taking advantage of her death. Shame on you guys. So fake and so disgusting to watch them babble on and on about their own opinions with no conclusions.

Maxwell that kid has potential!
10 September 2020
Obviously not an outstanding film or storyline but you can tell they've thought through the script. High comedic value on the punchlines. And I love the little kid Maxwell S, his acting is hilarious. This kid has a lot of potential I hope his parents don't screw his life up like other child actors.

Well written, accurate portrayal of metoo situations
27 July 2020
Apart from the fairly realistic corporate power exchange (backstabbing and creating useful alliances etc), the violated female victim situation is incredibly well portrayed- such a highly delicate and complex emotional experience, both explored in the views of the victim and the perpetrator. Amazing and well done. Men who don't understand why women don't "fight harder" for help, watch this.

Stop holding this film to your political correctness standards, it's a woman's fantasy
15 June 2020
Everyone hates this because of the chauvinism and sexual abuse etc, disregarding the fact that it's a fiction sexy submissive fantasy that a lot of women secretly enjoy. The acting and English lines are absolutely awful but the story and the actors are way hotter than shades of grey. Well done on the borderline pourno scenes, the most graphic probably vulgar stuff ever shot in a non pourno movie.

2 hours of nerve wrecking yelling and F bombs
9 May 2020
I actually found Adam's character funny, and annoying of course. Just hours of cursing and yelling. I guess it's a story about what people are like when they consistently are in a vicious cycle of effing up.

Amazing footage from London punk scenes of the 70's and early Spandau Ballet gigs
11 May 2015
Can't believe nobody has written anything about this awesome movie yet! It was very well cut and edited- 2 hours long and not a single boring bit. Photos and video footages from the dawn of the band in the 70's are incredible- lots of hipstery- in a good way- party people are genuine and quickly evolving. They're the ones who really make the effort to look special for good parties. Learned about the "it" clubs- Blitz and Beetroot. You can tell there was good music, fun scene with a diverse mix, and clubs today try to keep it that way too, the spirit hasn't changed. For the band itself well go watch this and find out. These guys are the dream team.

Jan Dara (2001)
8/10
Summary of Plot!! HOT!!
18 March 2005
Warning: Spoilers
the plot is messed up, like everyone is immoral and all...i watched this twice and it still disturbs me the way everyone is like, all obsessed with sex and desires...

I guess the worst part of all was the end...where no one knows who Jan Dara's father is...because her mother was kidnapped and rapped...and this is where the entire story mixed with love and hatred begins!

She got home alive and pregnant, and her family didn't want others to know about it, so they forced her to marry this rich man, who turns out to be Jan's uncle/ stepfather--the man who keeps torturing Jan. His mom died, and the uncle married his aunt (her mom's younger sister) instead. His aunt was always really and genuinely nice to Jan. Jan's aunt and the uncle gave birth to a daughter--a super annoying bitch.

One day the uncle hooked up with another woman (Christy Chung) and she moved in officially. The uncle slept with her daughter and the obnoxious daughter got pregnant with her dad's (the uncle's) baby!! NOW IT GETS REALLY MESSED UP!

Her dad, aka the Uncle, became impotent ever since. Then he made her daughter marry Jan--they hated each other, but it was chiefly a torture for the daughter because she'd always been a lesbian. Jan slept with Christy, his uncle's mistress, and the uncle saw them...he died (I think) of stroke then. On the other hand, Jan hated the daughter so much he raped her, and strangely, he also becomes impotent ever since.

OK--the WEIRDEST part! Remember that Jan's wife (the obnoxious daughter) is a lesbian?!! Jan bumped into Christy sleeping with her!! Luckily, the wonderfully nice aunt decided to leave the crazy household to become a nun.
