The Priest
19 April 2005
In this movie Mario Moreno portrays a new priest that has been sent to a town to begin gaining experience in ministry. When he arrives he does not receive such a great welcome because the towns people and the old priests' family think he was sent to take over the church. As usual Cantinflas has to overcome the greedy villains and stubborn people. The movie is filled with a lot of funny comments made by cantinflas. Although he is a priest he has a mind of his own and he tells people exactly what he is thinking. The DVD is excellent. Both the audio and picture are perfect. Subtitles are optional and there are even a few present day film trailers. You can rest assure that through out the movie you'll encounter the unique charm of Mario Moreno.

Living in a Studio
19 April 2005
In this film Mario Moreno plays a guy who practically lives on a movie set. He goes from set to set as an extra or observer but basically bothers the directors. In every set he is on he imagines himself as the main actor. He meets a young women who is an orphan along with her two younger brothers and is looking for an acting job. Cantinflas makes it a top priority to get her discovered. The problems he gets into are too funny to explain. The sound and color are pretty good. There are no special features. The movie was pretty funny; seeing cantinflas in Indian and cowboy outfits gives it the ninth star. Its not his best film but its almost there.

Police Officer 777
19 April 2005
In this movie Mario Moreno plays police officer 777. The movie is about his battle with everyday crime and a group of thugs. The funniest parts are when he is undercover. Seeing him dressed up as different people makes having the film worth it. Although the film is quite funny it is not one of his best. The DVD is not done well in my opinion. The audio is horrible. You can still hear everything but it is not as clear as it should be. The picture is okay but they could have done a better job focusing it. There are no special features and no subtitles. The movie plays on its own;in other words you don't have to push play. Hopefully people will start respecting cantinflas classics and make better DVDs.

Another great Cantinflas movie!
19 April 2005
Mario Moreno portrays a professor in this movie. A small town in the middle of no where requests the school Mario Moreno is working in for a teacher. He ends up going to give the town a hand. When he arrives he comes to know the corrupt leaders who through out the movie try to make him leave. Although he is being harassed you can see how much he cares for the kids and their circumstances. He deals with problems by using his hilarious comments. The DVD is overall pretty good. Both the picture and audio is done well considering it is an old film. This film is probably one of my favorite Cantinflas classics. Its a must have. Like in his other movies...he's funny, witty, and compassionate.

Great movie!
19 April 2005
Mario Moreno portrays an illiterate poor fellow that has received a letter from a dead relative containing a fortune for him, but because hes ashamed of not knowing how to read he decides to go to school and learn before knowing the contents of the letter. The movie doesn't focus on his schooling as much as it does on his new job and his love for a girl. Through out the movie he encounters greedy men who are out to take advantage of him. The DVD is excellent. Subtitles are optional. Both the picture and audio are perfect. As in other movies, you'll encounter the greedy villains, good hearted people, and the charm of Cantinflas.

Not the best of the bunch but still great!
19 April 2005
Mario Moreno does it again with his role as an ambassador in this movie. It is very funny to see how he gets his position. The film is basically about communism v democracy. People from each party are trying to get enough votes to gain momentum in the "united nations". Because Cantinflas is the deciding vote, he is being bombarded by both sides. All the names of the nations are made up but you can tell who they represent. The film has a lot of funny moments but not quite as much as in previous films. The most memorable part of this movie is the ending. The speech he makes leaves you with chills. It seemed to show us Mario Morenos true feelings at such a delicate time in history. Overall, this movie is worth buying, especially if your a Cantinflas Fan!
