Nova: E=mc²: Einstein's Big Idea (2005)
Einstein rocks!
Not being a physicist or mathematician, E = mc2 goes right over my head as I'm sure it does any lay person...but this 2 hour special pulled all together in a way that even *I* could comprehend. It was a series of dramatizations - some having to do with the precursors to that formula - which made it easy for me to follow, very entertaining and in the usual Nova way highly educational. Great work...Bravo!!! And because IMDb makes you write 10 lines of text when six will do, I am filling out the rest of this piece with fluff to get by the sensors. So tolerate this nonsense so that I can get my basic point across - that this special is well worth your time.
Here Comes the Bride (1978)
Samantha Fox is INCREDIBLE
One of her best roles. She really gets into the sex. If you are a fan of early 80's porn, before all the fake breasts and dumb blonds came on the scene, this classic is for you. Guys are ugly and hairy - as usual for this time frame - but the girls look girl next door, are very natural and are VERY into the sex.
Samantha is in every scene, and plays each one at her campy over-acting best. My favorite girlfriend of hers is Roberta, the brunette with the sleepy eyes. She reminds me of Christine Baranski. There are also a few comic moments thrown in.
The bridal shower scene with the girl in pigtails is a great one too.
Coffee and Cigarettes (2003)
Hack Wheeze Gasp Cough
This film couldn't suck enough if it tried.
Just awful.
What was with the Iggy Pop/Tom Waits scene?
Just bad bad bad.
Boring, directionless, uninteresting in any way, shape or form.
Steve Buscemi as a southern diner waiter? With an Elvis conspiracy theory?
Lots of big name actors, with lots of stupid dialogue. I can't think of a movie I hated more. Well, maybe Moulin Rouge, but at least that had Nicole Kidman to look at. Even Cate Blanchett's style and grace couldn't bring a redeemable moment to this train wreck.
