Tales from the Loop (2020)
It Simply Is Not Sci-Fi
This is not sci-fi, sci-fi genre is specifically tailored toward a world that though mysterious, strange, and unexplainable it is still henceforth explained through the imagination and skill of the writer. I just got done listening to Orson Scott Card on the Ben Shapiro show and he delved very deep into the fantasy and sci-fi genres and this is really neither.
It's just a big slow artsy fartsy, delve into the human condition and all its flaws and woes. Which isn't a bad thing, not at all. However it was painted as a science fiction and the science in this particular universe, though fiction, is never explained! How frustrating, the only mystery isn't the plot, it's the random crap littered throughout the story.
Ep. 3 an entire slow moving story about some dumb teenager that wants to have sex so she can stop time, that's it. Nothing happens they just break up at the end and that was it, no repercussions, no twist no plot. That isn't a plot a girl stops time so she can cheat on her BF. And it just gets worse from then on, it's like Lost but even more terrible.
The acting is good, the cinematics are superb of course the score is amazing. But that just isn't enough, it's like thinking you are going to drink a sprite and someone replaced it with water.
Buffalo Rider (1976)
Great Movie
If you like stuff like Jeremiah Johnson and the like, anything having to do with pioneers in the old west and such you will love this movie. And not only that but the freaking guy does some amazing stunts. Second, the guy that said it was awful is a complete moron, the scene he describes about parking his buffalo and some kind of old joke being made, NEVER EVEN HAPPENED. It was a good movie, about a real man who lived and was a conservationist, with some pretty cool scenes and neat pioneer type western stuff happening. So I have to have 10 lines of text and it won't let me submit, so the movie was really cool and he rides a buffalo and fights bears and cougars and does manly man stuff that manly men do.
