Interstellar (2014)
One masterpiece that made me cry!
This movie is one masterpiece which you cannot just simply award by giving it an Oscar. This is like history or a lesson how to make a movie that will give you shivers whenever you remember about it. Its a movie that you will want to tell others to watch and appreciate what we have and what we can do in our lives. The film quotes "Mankind was born on Earth but it was never meant to die here". That's one line worth a thousands lessons. If you have watched the movie 'Gravity' you will appreciate what the director has achieved with this film and think and ponder about the hard work and imagination that goes into making an epic masterpiece. The visuals are like you can fell every bit. The emotional scenes made me cry literally. Anne Hathaway's acting is just out of bounds. You will love this film if you are a sci-fi fan but not if you go into the theater expecting some edgy one-liners and Stallone type fighting. This film is not meant to entertain you, its meant to wow you, its meant to experience you. Its meant to fell you about the outer space how real it can be. This film really crosses all dimensions.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014)
Just one word 'Cowabunga'
I remember those old days when TMNT would be aired on Jetix and Cartoon Network back in 2005-2006's. I was a big fan of franchise and when i got the chance to see this movie with the new technologies of 2014 i was so excited. So did it meet my expectation? Well, it satiated my thirst of comedy and action. Donatello, Michelangelo, Leonardo, Raphael and of-course sen-sei Splinter all were superb in this movie.Megan fox is so beautiful and Will Arnet just make me laugh even more and more. Awesome CGI and awesome effects to be honest. Yes, the antagonist is not that awesome but i still would give it a 10 hands on for the other characters. The voice actors need all the applause for such 'one' liners. Better than expendables. If you would like to watch a entertaining movie to sidetrack your daily life and enjoy the weekend, this is a no-brainer.
Mardaani (2014)
Serious movie without putting unnecessary songs!
The problem with serious movies in India is that people don't like to watch these movies in theaters. Most of the people, i am not saying all want some peppy movie with sizzling songs and item numbers which can spice them up or some silly comedy which i they think makes them tingle and expect us to laugh, well that ain't happening.
Starting of, i personally thought that movie career for women are only up to a few years from now and a very old concept is that after marriage heroines just loose their roles but this ain't true.
Rani Mukerji is back and altogether for a bang! This movies is kick-ass. You don't have to worry about censoring dirty abusive language or scenes because this is reality and criminals just don't say all their biography by just a slap.
Our heroes could learn this from Rani...
A must watch which is very rare for Bollywood Films...
The Fault in Our Stars (2014)
I never cried to a movie before.
I have read the book which was so fantastically awesome and so when this movie came out, it had only one show in my city and i spend my pocket money on this film rather than some commercial crap.
I somehow convinced by friends to watch this and THIS MOVIE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS.
One of the best movies i have seen this year surely. It should at least be nominated for the Oscars for best-screenplay and definitely an award for Shailene Woodley. I have become a fan of her since DIVERGENT.
This movie specially August's death made me cry and all the people in the theater were also in tears. I would rate this 20/10. And this should definitely be on the top 200 films ever list.
We're the Millers (2013)
The best comedy film of 2013!
I was not so sure about the title but this movie is beyond awesomeness. The actors, the casting and the plot altogether so awesome. The best thing is that it has the HANGOVER guy in it. Emma Roberts along with Will Poulter make the best brother-sister duo. Jason and Jeniffer give the movie a A factor. The script is so awesome that i kept laughing the entire time 'you know what i'm saying'. I could give this movie a 200/100 rating. Seriously means i didn't actually get to see the movie in the theater but got a copy at my friends house.
The best thig is that the story keeps on going and doesn't bore you at all. The cop in the movie is awesome too. Hats off to the ending.
Madras Cafe (2013)
I wish it had more stars
Movies come and go but this type of movies remain in our mind for long time. After 'A Wednesday' i think that this is one movies which i would give stars beyond limit. A harsh reality is that people just for their benefits shout that this film hurts their sentiments but this movie contains no such. Such a shame that for politics and to not expose our secrets we don't even let such movies come in theaters also. Once again hats off to Shoojit sircar for his awesome directing and the roles played by all the characters were all very good. Wish this film is nominated and awarded for the best thriller of the year. Political melodrama, corruption, conspiracy and war all a total pack worth your hard earned money.
Taken 2 (2012)
Action Packed
Well to start off , i thought that this movie would be different than its precursor, but of course it turned out to be a sequel. I really liked the 1st part but this one of more sort of a kind not much that suspense. They didn't show what happened to the guy in Paris and the fact that after saving the girl he should have saved his wife and not let her be kidnapped again.
For a sequel it was good , not bored at all as movie is pretty short about 1 and a half hours. But loved watching it really.
if you pot , buy a bluray it is amazing to watch action scenes in HD.
Yeah if you can just buy the DVD version. The story is not good but the action scenes are awesome and i really liked the city of Istanbul. Just as shown in 'Ek tha Tiger' by Salman Khan.
