Keep Breathing (2022)
I didn't think it was that bad
I think people are overthinking it a bit. There might've been a bit too many flashbacks but k think that's kind of the point. In a survival story like this I think it's meant to represent how lonely you are and how your brain plays tricks on you. It's just you your thoughts and your imagination. It's a interesting take on where you mind would go if something like this happened. You'd probably reflect on a lot of your life while surviving. To us it seems like minutes but to someone out there surviving it's hours, days, weeks, just alone with nothing. I thought it did a good job achieving what I believed it was trying to achieve.
In terms of the actual enjoyment of it I thought it was exciting and kept my attention. It started off a lot more exciting and slowed down near end.
The Terminal List (2022)
Started slow but I ended up enjoying it.
I felt the first 5 episodes could've been shortened. It was way too slow for me. Still enjoyed it though. I really started to get interested in episode 6 though. Tension was very high and the thrill was amazing.
This show was a lot better than most shows I've seen lately so it was enjoyable to watch.
Cast was great, I love Chris Pratt. Acting was phenomenal.
I think to conclude I thought everything about it was great, my only complaint was the structure of the show. I felt the timing was a bit off and I lost interest at times in the early episodes. Other than that though very good show and I recommend you watch it.
Blockbuster (2022)
Feels very rushed
They say their line with no emotion then go right onto the next line very quickly with no pause. Every scene feels like they are rushing to get as many jokes in as possible and to me it makes the jokes go flat. No time to absorb anything. It needs way better timing. Watch any stand up comedy show and most of those guys are masters at timing.
After the first episode the part I enjoyed the most was probably the last 2 minutes of the episode. It felt way more natural and there was some emotion there. They needed to use that more. As soon as the second episode started it lost me. Back to firing off as many jokes as fast as possible. Like throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what sticks.
Personally I absolutely love the actors in the show but everything about this show just seems off to me and it's not my favourite. With all of the shows Netflix is releasing, this show was a miss in my opinion.
The Good Nurse (2022)
It was alright.
Great actors but I'm not entirely sure they were the right ones for this movies. Obviously a very interesting story. I didn't really like the pacing of it though. Seemed a bit slow to me. Didn't really have a thrill feel to it that I was expecting.
I also didn't like how most of the scenes were visually dark. Personally when a movie is always dark I lose interest. I need it to play with my emotions a bit. Give me a lighter scene then hit me with a dark scene. I find it way more engaging that way.
Overall a good film. I recommend watching it. Mostly just a few personal preference things for me.
The 100: The Last War (2020)
Glad that's over
I absolutely loved the series up until the last season. That was rough. Totally lost me a while back but fought through it because I've been watching from day 1. It wasn't even enjoyable anymore. Not a good ending at all. I have to add though I think I enjoyed the last 4 minutes more than the entire season.
The 100: The Dying of the Light (2020)
I've come this far so I might as well finish it
This show really went down hill the last few seasons. I really enjoyed this show when it first came out. The raw survival sci fi show. It was exciting and I liked the characters, it was unique. I felt it was really the show I was looking for when it started.
Now it feels like they're reaching a bit, I don't like any of the characters anymore. I don't even like Clarke as much anymore. I didn't really enjoy this last season but figured I'd finish it to see how it ended since I've been watching from day 1. They honestly probably should've ended this show sooner.
Good Girls (2018)
It's not bad.
I feel like they tried really hard to make this into the female version of breaking bad. What breaking bad did was perfectly balance empathizing with a character that was doing terrible things. With this show you kind of just start to dislike the characters more and more as the show goes on.
Good Girls: Fall Guy (2021)
Breaking Bad but with females?
I'm recognizing a similar theme from Breaking Bad. They seem to be using a couple tricks from the hit tv show and I'm not sure how I like. It's not the worst but it could be better.
Stranger Things: Chapter Seven: The Massacre at Hawkins Lab (2022)
Wait what?!
Up there for being one of the greatest episodes from a tv show I've ever seen. Twists and turns, scary and thrilling. While still using the great sense of humour that the show has always had. This episode takes you on an emotional roller coaster. I can't believe there are still two more episodes after that. That was epic.
Murderville (2022)
Not for everyone but I thought it was hilarious.
I'll be honest if I went into this not knowing anything or anybody in it I'd think it was dumb. However, because I've watched these guys for a long time and I knew what to expect going in I actually thought it was hilarious. Only way you'll enjoy this is if you like the people in it.
Red Dead Redemption II (2018)
Greatest game I've ever played
Between this and GTA Rockstar made the 2 best games I've ever played. Crazy stories with the ability to endlessly explore the huge map. It's amazing.
Atypical: Magical Bird #2 (2021)
What a great episode!
Very deep and emotional. One of my fav episodes of the series.
Soupçons (2004)
Kinda boring to me
Honestly it seems interesting but I couldn't get through 2 episodes. I was just extremely bored. I'm sure a lot of people like it but it just wasn't for me.
Love and Monsters (2020)
A good movie
Nothing crazy here. Just a pure entertaining adventure movie. Exciting with a bit of humour and emotion. Overall I was entertained. It wasn't anything special but it did it's job. A solid movie.
Two Distant Strangers (2020)
A very important short film.
Not the most entertaining. It's definitely one of the most honest, real, deep films I've ever seen. It's a short film so it does not take much of your time but it delivers a powerful message in a unique way. I highly recommend everyone watch this.
The Haunting of Hill House (2018)
This show is so much more than a horror.
I would say it's leans more towards a thriller. Definitely a lot deeper than I was expecting. I took my a while to watch it but I'm glad I did. It's not just some jump scare show. It develops the characters and has a very good storyline. I'm glad I started watching it.
Bad Trip (2021)
Not that great
I had a couple laughs at the beginning but the overall quality of this movie is pretty bad. I do understand the idea of a prank comedy but I just found some parts were just boring. To me it was just very hit and miss.
Canine Intervention (2021)
Missing the point
Everybody misses the point of this show. Yes they talk to the owners a lot but there's a good reason for it. 90% of the problems isn't the dogs it's the owners. The owners have no idea how to train the dog. Once they realize they have to be the leader then that fixes most of their problems. I feel this show is more of a basic training for owners who have no idea what they are doing. He's just counselling them and helping them figure out what they are doing wrong. It's a system and a mindset change that he is enforcing.
Ozark (2017)
Tbh im bored
I'm 4 episodes in. That's usally the amount of episodes I give a show before I decide if I'm going to keep watching. There have been a few things that have happened that have made me interested but it doesn't keep my attention long. This show is too slow for me. It doesn't hook me. So far it doesn't seem like it's really going anywhere. Maybe I'll watch more in the future and if it changes my mind I will edit this review but as of right now I'm not enjoying it much.
The 100 (2014)
Love it.
Was very interesting and exciting in the first season. I felt it started to lose my interest in the following seasons but it hooked me again in the 5th season. Well written, interesting and likeable characters. It's a binge-worthy show so give it a shot.
The 15:17 to Paris (2018)
Wow. I apologize.
I saw the trailer for this movie and immediately wanted to see it. Thought it looked great. I then saw that it had awful reviews. I still wanted to watch it. I started watching it. Was bored out of my mind to say the least. Was not nearly what I expected. Wasn't exciting, I wasn't on the edge of my seat. Was a complete waste of time and money. So anyone who is sitting there thinking "hmm sometimes the reviews don't tell the full story" and they usually don't. I've watched some movies with bad ratings and have liked them. I've watched movies with good reviews and hated them. I like to give each movie a fair shot at entertaining me. THIS WAS NOT AN ENTERTAINING MOVIE. DO NOT WATCH. I've warned you. I learned the hard way. The acting was boring and the layout of the movie was boring. It was basically a long ass boring biography/documentary of some guys. The story might be interesting but this movie doesn't do anything for the great story it might be.
On My Block: Chapter Ten (2018)
Oh my!
That was crazy. Didn't expect that at all. Had me shaking my head in disbelief. What an amazing ending to a great season. Can't wait for season 2!
The Walking Dead: Wrath (2018)
Finally a good episode.
The last two seasons have been way to slow. They probably could've done what they did in two seasons all in one season. I found myself getting bored most episodes and almost stopped watching at one point but we were finally rewarded with a great episode for the season finale. Not quite sure where the next season is going to go but I'm excited to see where it goes. Definitely could go in many different directions. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
The Night Of (2016)
What you should expect watching (First paragraph doesn't have spoilers)
I'll tell you this. This isn't some show where they show the audience things that happen that none of the characters know. You don't get a behind the scenes sneak peak at what actually happened. As a viewer you feel like you are part of the jury, putting together the pieces as you go to figure out what actually happened.
Kind of a spoiler ahead:
This is why I believe the ending is the way it is. You get as much evidence as the jury did. No one knows what really happened. You see his story and then you get to see the evidence they find but that's it. I find from an entertainment point of view it could've been better but from a realistic point of view, thinking about how things like this happen in real life where you never know the full story, it was absolutely perfect. Personally I would've like it a bit more entertaining but that's me.
The Night Of: The Call of the Wild (2016)
Disappointing honestly
Season started with a bang. Then they just kept building and building and it seemed to get better and better. I was expecting them to find some crazy evidence or find something that would finally prove either he was innocent or guilty and then the show just ended. No closure. We have no idea what happened. Overall it was a good episode but after spending over 8 hours watching this season I would've like some kind of answer. Flashback, finding the actual killer, etc.
