Emerald City: Science and Magic (2017)
Series is Stalling at this point
This episode REALLY dragged along.
Folks in my household beginning to lose interest and I am one of them.
What happened in this episode that could not have been included in another.
The pacing of the series is off at this point. Time to move it along.
Turn (2014)
Great Drama - But I need subtitles
The plot sometimes....not most of the time...drags along. Many mini- series as they used to be called are the same. Some padding of the script to fill in the required episodes, punctuated with some very exciting and fast paced plot.
One of my chief complaints, LOL...I can't understand some of the dialog due to real or acted British or Irish accents of the players.
Daniel Henshall as Caleb Brewster in particular is very hard for me to understand as a Yankee American. Very very authentic know doubt for the time period....but by gosh...is not this T.V. series target audience the American viewing public ? How about throwing us a bone...perhaps less authenticity of dialog and more Americanisms is in order. LOL.
Likewise with character of expert spy master Nathaniel Sackett, portrayed superbly by American actor Stephen Root. Root's portrayal is authentic and interesting but so peppered with flowery 18th century embellishments and metaphors that I need to rewind and replay on my DVR just to follow his character's dialog. LOL.
It is wonderfully authentic in its delivery, but I'm often left wondering..."huh?" by the common language that divides the American and English peoples, compounded by the overly authentic historically accurate dialog.
PS: I by know means believe the American version of the English language is anymore proper or correct than the British. Quite the contrary in many cases....but this American needs subtitles for this show. LOL.
